Today we say goodbye to an old and much-loved friend of Dream Riders- Bandit.
Bandit passed away gently in his sleep last Tuesday night in his favorite spot surrounded by his best friends- 3 sheep that he has adopted as his own.
Bandit shared his love with all who met him at Dream Riders for many years before retiring to Foxbird Farm near Cadiz, KY. While there, he enjoyed afternoon naps under his favorite tree, befriending some of the bottle-fed lambs and getting into things every chance that he could.
Bandit was a true equine hero- helping his riders by building not only their physical strength, but also their confidence.

Time to bale the hay! We want to give a BIG THANK YOU to these extraordinary volunteers, Angie, Christianne, Danni, Haley and Mike, for their help in getting this hay from the field to our barn! These volunteers consistently give their all day in and day out! We are so grateful for them, and all of our wonderful volunteers that help make Dream Riders such a magical place!

The wait is finally over! Everyone...meet Dolly!

Dolly is a mini and we are excited to have her join our Dream Riders team! She will be working in our new local outreach program, with educational opportunities and in various other capacities! Once she settles in, we will be sharing her adventures around town soon!

Happy Earth Day 🌎! We want to give a huge Earth Day thank you to our friends at Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline for bringing us a new redbud tree and planting it outside the barn! We can’t wait to move our picnic table beside it to create a relaxing space to watch the horses!

Our organization is excited to invite all volunteers to attend our upcoming meeting on Sunday, February 4th from 3pm to 5pm. This meeting will be an opportunity to discuss the upcoming semester and the great plans we have for the rest of the year. We encourage all volunteers to bring a friend or family member who may be interested in joining our team. Even if you are not currently volunteering, we welcome you to come out and see all the new changes and consider joining our dream team once more. We look forward to seeing you!

We received a picture from Beth, who is on staff at Dream Riders, and wanted to share what she saw at the barn.

“When I pulled into the driveway a couple of days ago, I saw a scene of typical herd behavior. After a good roll in the mud, part of the herd was napping under the grey sky while one stood guard.

We have had a couple of warm days, so most of the blankets are off and all of the horses (especially Lady!) have really enjoyed the chance to roll and scratch their itchy backs.”

Leslie, Angie and Mike are caring for our herd. This has not been an easy week for our staff due to our weather conditions.
