Jenny Ives is a 37 foot traditional gaff-rigged wooden ketch, built in Boothbay, Maine, in 1981 by renowned boatbuilder Roy Blaney. Legend has it Blaney built 25 boats by himself in as many years, and Jenny Ives he made for himself. The design was drawn by the equally acclaimed naval architect Thomas Gillmer. Blaney had Gillmer enlarge his famous "Calypso" design, and Jenny Ives was the result. S

he is a pleasure to sail, and the workmanship, solid construction, and thoughtful details are sure to inspire. Gillmer said of Jenny Ives "Blaney was building a meticulous memorial to his own skill." Beyond her impeccable sailing capabilities, the 46 horse power Westerbeke diesel engine can propel Jenny Ives far and wide.
