Lil Kim was at County shelter with our other rescue Big Pun. They were together, so we believe she may be good with other dogs, but it also could just be him she likes. (We would conduct a meet and greet with your pet prior to adoption to make sure) Kim is high alert/active. We believe she's actually a Swedish Lapphund mix but Petfinder did not have that breed option to list! She is a bit standoff-ish, nervous/cautious, but has warmed up quickly with all staff, men and women alike. Maybe no small children... But again we will conduct an in-home prior to any adoption to ensure everyone's safety. She LOVES to be brushed, and even leans in and rotates side to side for more! LOL She's a GREAT girl and needs a home with structure and activities to keep her sharp mind occupied.

Hermann has been at the shelter since 8/21 when he was brought in as a stray. He was wagging his tail, but he attempted to nip at handler according to the notes. There is so much puppyness in him. He was jumping at the field old officers face. The finder helped by carrying him to the truck and placed him in a kennel. Hermann was stuck in his kennel for 9 days before he got his first break, another 2 weeks went by and Hermann had a meet and greet, and this was his second outing. Hermann has had about 7 more meet and greets after. He has been stuck in his kennel for several days prior to the meet and greets, and he is pretty wound up. Potential adopters are concerned about his behavior, but they probably do not know that he has been stuck in his kennel for days. Hermann is jumping, trying to bite the leash, and he is vocal (high pitched!) On 10/4, he had a dog intro and this was conducted at the fence line. Hermann was introduced to a female dog. He was relaxed, but he was vocalizing. He is also a talker. Oh Hermann! Volunteers that have had him out say that he is such a fun boy, but a bit mouthy and grabby with treats. When on a walk, Hermann will pick up what he finds on the ground. This boy just absolutely loves his outings. Hermann sounds mischievous, but not vicious. 💔🚨 Walter was pulled from PCACC's e-list WAY BACK in January 2022 and has spent the past 600+ days without a home. He spent about 500 of those days living in a subpar Phoenix boarding facility and then was moved to Tucson in April 2023 to live in a crate - where he is still living now. Walter is confined to a crate for the vast majority of the day – everyday…💭🏡

Volunteers have shared that Walter is approx. 2-3 years old, Australian Shepherd/Chow mix who’s neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped. He’s a sweet boy who can be initially shy when first meeting new people but quickly warms up 🥰 – and will soon be leaning into pets and giving kisses 😘. Walter has done well with other dogs 🐶, so if your household includes an existing dog, an introduction would be done through the rescue to ensure it’s the right fit for each pup! Walter has demonstrated great leash manners, non-reactive to his surroundings including other dogs, runners, cyclist and wildlife (birds, lizards, etc.), and rides well in the car. He has a playful personality 🧸 which includes a love for fetch🎾 and water 💦. Walter knows a few basic commands and takes treats gently. He would do best in a home without children and cats.
