For informational purposes-
Most dogs require nail trims approximately every three to four weeks, but the ideal frequency is highly dependent on their individual lifestyle, age, and environment. This not a picture of any of my clients pets. Another vet tech shared it with me.
I’m posting it because I’m often asked how often owners should be rescheduling. There is no exact time as each pet is different. The picture below has to be atleast 4 months over growth. We never wanna risk the Nail growing into the paw pad as it can lead to infection.
Overgrown dog nails cause the quick to become longer. The quick, which contains the blood vessels and nerves, grows with the nail to supply it with blood and nutrients. Regular maintenance is crucial for a dog's health and comfort, as overgrown nails can lead to pain, joint issues, or painful breakage.
