“It’s raining 🌧️ it’s pouring, the old man is snoring 😴 “ that’s what the kids sing 🎶 but for us, rain or shine ✨ we are out there serving our unhoused friends.

Today we won’t be able to distribute clothes due to the weather but food will be distributed as usual. These rainy days are hard on our unhoused friends, as the rain is not their friend. So we try to help out by at least providing a meal so they have one less thing for them to stress about. Pray 🙏🏼 for our unhoused that they find dry shelter today.

A special “Thank you!” to the Reborn Church and La Doña de Asistentes for their donations last week. We truly appreciate the help for our unhoused friends out here!

We want to send a huge “Thank you!” to these three wonderful people,Gabriel Ag, Abigail and Josué Santana from Chicano por La Causa for helping us serve last Friday. Most of our team was out sick or out of town last week, so we had no extra hands to help serve. However these three angels were available and they rescued us with their help 💕. Thank you! Often, when time permits and they are available, they will join us while out on their street outreach. We appreciate everytime they do. We also appreciate all they do for our homeless youth out there. Thank you!

We want to send a huge “Thank you” to a few of our long time donors, Natalie Decker, Kyle Decker and their wonderful mother Gudi Acree. These three wonderful people provide us meat and cheese sandwiches 🥪 every week for our unhoused friends. We provide these sandwiches in our snack bags we have available and distribute at our homeless outreach at the park and on street outreach. Recently they have been providing us with burritos to share. Amazing!

We truly appreciate all the support you have given us through these years by helping us provide an essential need on the street, food! Thank you!

If anyone is looking to support these wonderful people that are so giving, they own 3D Flavors who sells wonder salsas and spices at most local Farmers Markets and some stores. We encourage you to pay them a visit and try some of their great product, as these small business make a huge impact on our communities.

Last weekend was a busy weekend! We served Friday at Bonsall park and Saturday at Maryvale Park.

Saturday was our first full outreach at Maryvale park. Fridays we normally stop and serve at Maryvale park after our outreach at Bonsall. However , we only serve food, snack bags and whatever extra we have available on that day. No clothes. We just don’t have the volunteers to serve full outreach at both parks on Fridays unfortunately.

So this Saturday, we had some very happy and grateful people because we had clothes available to go with their meal this time.

Both days, Bonsall Park and Maryvale park, we served Lasagna with salad, bread/roll and a dessert (cupcake/loaf/chocolate peanut clusters). We also had milk and juice available, which is always a nice treat for our friends.

Our next Saturday outreach will be at Cesar Chavez park, Saturday Feb 15th. If anyone is interested in joining us, making a side dish or dessert to share, we will have a sign up sheet available Friday.

We will also be having our Valentine 💌 theme outreaches Friday, February 14th and Saturday the 15th, so any extra candy 🍫 or treats to share would be wonderful. Even some used stuff animals our friends enjoy. They are truly grateful.

Our first outreach at Cesar Chavez park last Saturday was a success!

Thank you Gabriel Ag with Chicano por la Causa, Gabriel’s mother Yolanda, his aunt Tenchi and the wonderful Perez family for helping us serve. Gabriel notified us that there was a great need at Cesar Chavez park, so we extended our services to South Phoenix.

We served cheese enchiladas, along with pizza and sides, on Friday at Bonsall and Maryvale park. We then served enchiladas again on Saturday at Cesar Park, with a side of rice, beans, pasta salad, cupcakes 🧁, donuts 🍩 and a wonderful strawberry Bundt cake. Thanks to Gabriel and his mother Yolanda for making the rice, Bundt cake and pasta salad for our friends at Cesar Park.
It was really busy last week at all three parks. Cesar park was a little slow at first, people were not quite sure what we were doing, until we notified them what we were providing for them. Then it picked up. We are hoping once they see we will be serving there more, the word on the streets will spread and we can help more. We were able to provide clothes (new and used), hygiene, new underwear, dog food and more! They were very grateful and we look forward to serving them again.
We will be posting a calendar of events for February at the end of this month. This will open up more volunteer opportunities for anyone that would like to help in Glendale, West and South Phoenix. We want to thank Martha Cabrera for donating utensils and serving containers as these will be needed more, now that we are serving more areas. If anyone would like to help, our mailing address for donations can be shipped to Blessings to the Calles at 8244 W Osborn Rd, Phoenix Az 85033. We can still use socks (thick socks most requested for cold nights), new underwear (men & women), hygiene, first aid supplies, cough drops and vitamin C packets for our sick friends with colds, pet collars, harness and leashes, blankets and men’s clothes. Any support is greatly appreciated.

Our next Saturday outreach will be next Saturday, February 1st at Maryvale Park! If anyone is interested in volunteering to serve or would like to help with a cooked dish to provide, please reach out to use. We will be posting a sign up sheet this weekend.

Today will be serving at Bonsall park at noon. Please send any of our unhoused friends our way! 😃 We will be serving a turkey and rice casserole with a side of pasta salad (thank you Gabriel), and a side of corn with beans, pizza and more! 😋. Happy Friday!

Happy Friday and Happy 2025! Thanks be to God for another blessed year to serve!

We have been super busy already and we have lots of plans for 2025 to serve more areas! So if you are looking for an opportunity to volunteer and serve, we will be planning a couple Saturdays every month to serve our friends at Maryvale Park and Cesar Chavez Park.

If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to us. We will be posting a sign up sheet soon for each. Tomorrow will be our first day serving Cesar Park. If you are interested in helping, please reach out.

We are also in need of more donations of snack, forks/spoon/ containers, pet food supplies, blankets, men’s clothes and more to share with more of our friends. Let us know if you can help!

We hope everyone had a beautiful and blessed Christmas 🎄 with family and friends.

Last Friday we had our Christmas 🎄 in the park event and with all of our Santa’s helpers (outreach team) it went great! Thank you! Everyone there ate good, had some good desserts and even received a little Christmas gift! 🎁

Happy Friday! Today was a great day at outreach. Thank you outreach team, Josué Santana and the Chicano por La Casa friends and a new volunteer Anch Fig for joining us today. We appreciate all your help!

Our outreach was blessed this week with a chipotle lunch to go with the pizza 🍕 for our unhoused friends today. Thank you donor! We also had lots of desserts 🧁, clothes, blankets and more. Thank you to all who had donated items to us the last couple of weeks, we had bags full and our friends were very grateful. Thank you!

We are now preparing for our annual, “Christmas in the Park” lunch that’s next Friday, December 20, for our unhoused friends. We will be providing a lunch, small gift bag with beanie, gloves, socks and more. Music and with any new items donated, we will be raffling them out to our friends for a gift. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving 🦃 Outreach this past Friday! Praise God for everyone he brought to us to help with this dinner. Without his grace and love and everyone he brought to us, we couldn’t have had such a successful dinner for our unhoused friends and families that joined us.

We want to thank all our wonderful donors and volunteers who helped so much! This included Julie Schwartz and daughter, Gudi Acree and granddaughter, Natalie and Kyle, Morgan Poland and her wonderful sister Susanna Pastell, Pam Fuller, The Vawter Family-James Vawter III, Dawn Vawter and daughter Madison Hicks, Jesus People Church members Adam and Jo Ann Hoffman, Mary Barry and Mary Barbro, Joyce and Barbara Teague, Josué Santana and his friend Sergio, Reborn Church, La Doña de Asistentes and all her wonderful donors and so many more we know we are missing. We thank you all for helping us make that day a memorable dinner for our unhoused friends and families that joined us for this meal. 🍽️

If anyone is interested in volunteering to help serve or would like to cook something to share with our unhoused friends, we could use the help! We have attached a link to our sign up sheet. We had a great outreach last Friday. Even though there has been a lot of construction 🚧 going on at the South Park we serve at, we just moved our outreach across the street to the north side of the park. No biggie. As long as we have an area to serve, we are happy. There was a lot of hungry people out there who were happy to see we had a hot meal for them. They were very grateful. Our wonderful team member Joyce made some wonderful spaghetti 🍝 to go with the pizza we serve, along with some cookies 🍪 and an apple 🍎 . We also had some hot sopita de conchitas y papas, just the way momma makes it. A classic comfort food for the Hispanic family. It was definitely a winner, as we had many come back for seconds.
This week we also had a nice selection of winter coats 🧥 and a couple of blankets, thank you donors. We are out now. We could really use more new/used blankets, jackets, new socks as we are completely out of new socks. We did have some used socks donated that went quick. Our friends out here are grateful for everything, new or used. We are also out of men’s clothes. 75 percent of those we serve are men so it goes quick! So men, if you have any clothes you no longer need or want, they can surely use it out here. Thanks!

We now have our sign up sheet available for those that would like to volunteers to help, cook or purchase something for our Annual Thanksgiving 🦃 meal at the park event. We already have all the turkeys we need this year 🙌🏼, but we could use some ham, side dishes, soda and desserts. We have water. We also were donated plenty of forks, spoons and cups thanks for our event, thanks to Mary from Phoenix Children's Project!

This year we will be serving our Thanksgiving meal on Friday, November 22nd. Every year for this event, we set up tables, chairs, play music and give away new beanies and gloves to our friends to prepare them for this cold weather.

We also do the same event in the park for our friends for Christmas. So if you can’t help with our Thanksgiving event and you’re looking for a way to give back with your time or to purchase something, we could definitely use your support collecting raffles items to give away to our friends for Christmas. We are looking for donated items of new blankets, sleeping bag, tent, backpacks, etc that we can give away during Christmas. Since we normally don’t usually get enough items donated to give everyone, we normally raffle the new gifts 🎁 our during our lunch, to give everyone fair opportunity for a gift. So if anyone would like to purchase a new blanket, sleeping bag, tent, backpack, etc for the raffle, they will be very grateful. We are also looking for donation of stockings and candy to give out as a small gift/ treat.

We would love to make these next two holidays a wonderful one for them as they often tell us they miss those special memories and meals of home. So since they are now a part of our community family, we would love to make these next two holidays special for them once again. So we would be grateful for any and all the support we can get.

Good bye 👋🏼 October, Hello November! 🍁🧡 October was a blessed month but we are finally happy fall weather has finally came. It was a long and hot 🥵 summer this year, but we came and provided every week for our unhoused friends out here! Praise be to God for helping us get through another summer and for always providing through all our wonderful donors! 🙌🏼 We will be out at the park today! So please send any of our unhoused friends our way! We are also planning our Thanksgiving lunch already, which is scheduled for Friday November 22nd this year. So we are looking for volunteers and people that love to cook that can help us this year. We will have a sign up sheet in the next week or two for anyone that would like to help! We are also still taking donations of winter items, socks, gloves 🧤 beanies, blankets, we could use some hot cocoa, coffee and cups and noodles to provide. We appreciate all donations! Wow! What an amazing donation we received today for our unhoused friends. Today we received 1,920 bottles of water to help us keep our unhoused friends hydrated this summer. With these extreme temperatures coming our way, this type of blessing will save so many lives on the streets. Happy Friday! We will be at the park today from 11:00 am- 12:30 pm. Today we are treating our friends out here to Navajo Tacos 😋 We are sure they are going to love ❤️ them! Thanks to our good friend Gloria who is making them for us. She is awesome! Last week’s outreach, we want to thank Skyway Church and New Foundation for their donations of potatoes 🥔, salad and more that we used to make last weeks sausage and potatoes bake with a side salad 🥗 Thank you Barbara and Joyce for putting the meal together. It was a very filling meal. We also want to thank all the donors that donated items like serving container and Blue berry (Brandy Lynn with Billy’s Way Home 🫶🏼 and Marisa with Gift and Kinds). We also want to thank Husna for collecting a whole bunch of pb&j and bread for us. We use these every week for sandwiches that Larkspur Christian Church - Disciples of Christ makes us. We also want to thank Gudi, Natalie and Kyle for making us weekly meat and cheese sandwiches 🥪 and providing us water! Thank you! A big thank you to Mom's Pantry for providing us bread to make these hundreds of sandwiches every month! 🫶🏼 And to Elenor Linder, Dorothy Holloway, Diane Webber, Jan Trulock, the wonderful Monticeto ladies who makes us crochet wash clothes, hats and bags and from anyone else that we may be missing that donated money or items like water, clothes and supplies… we “thank you” all from the bottom of our hearts for your wonderful donations! ❤️

Our last Friday outreach was amazing! Food, clothes, snack bags with sandwiches 🥪 , hygiene, socks 🧦 underwear 🩲 and lots of water and Gatorade! Thank you Eric for donating the Gatorade. It was the most requested and it went quick! It was definitely needed for this hot weather. 🥵 We also had so many wonderful volunteers. Thank you again Josue Santana, Arthur Melendez and Diana Carillo with Chicano Por La Causa for joining us once again for outreach. We also want to thank Representative Analise Ortiz and all of her wonderful friends Representative Mariana Sandoval, Representative Keith Seaman, Senator Anna Hernandez, Glendale School Board member Hector Jaramillo and Art Morales from CASS Glendale for join us to serve our unhoused community and for bringing all those wonder bags and water for our unhoused friends. We also want to thank Diane M Webber for providing the casserole lunch and backpacks to distribute to any children in need of a backpack🎒 and supplies for school at outreach. It was wonderful seeing the school age children at outreach. Of course we can’t forget to thank our dedicated outreach team for being there every week! You all rock! ✊🏼 They say it takes a village to help our community and last Friday we had one. Thank you everyone who joined us and donated food, supplies, backpacks and more to give back to our community! We appreciate you all!
