Our dogs are putting in the work! 💪 RunBuddyMobile comes to our West shelter once a week to get our most energetic, antsy dogs some much-needed time to run. These treadmills are self-propelled, and some dogs at MCACC have already mastered it!

Caught on camera! 📽️ Last month, two little escape artists broke out of their kennel during morning cleaning at the East shelter. When Emma, our Shelter Diversion Navigator, came in, they were busy looking at some other puppies in a kennel next door. 😅
The puppies have since been adopted and the doors were secured. Thank you to Emma for dealing with their shenanigans and shuffling them back inside! #MaricopaPets

Susan is one of our awesome volunteers who was recently nominated as a Nurse who Inspires Nurses of Arizona by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona. Part of her reward was a donation of $5,000 to the 501(c)3 of her choice. It was a no-brainer for her to pick a foundation that would help benefit MCACC medical dogs.
Susan decided to gift her donation winnings to the Desert Dog Project. She couldn’t be prouder of her fellow volunteer, Julia, founder of the Desert Dog Project, for all the amazing work she does to help MCACC medical dogs. To celebrate, Susan thought there was no better time than a Hope Whispers Walk at our East shelter to officially present the check to Desert Dog Project. She even held a Doggie Ice Cream Social stand, so the East shelter dogs could get in on the celebration too! 🐶 🍦
Susan’s favorite quote is “To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.” And she says “that is so true” for each volunteer and each one of the dogs at MCACC! She encourages anyone who wants to make a difference in a dog’s life who may not be able to donate to consider volunteering or signing up for a Hope Whispers Walk at our East shelter and a Four Paws and Friends Mutt Strut at our West shelter! On Friday, our shelter dogs were put to work to support Limp Bizkit, Riff Raff and more during their Phoenix stop of the Loserville Tour 🤘 It was unpaid labor, but they were reimbursed with all the scritches, treats and pets. #MaricopaPets
