Courtesy post for urgent need:

1 yr old unneutered male terrier mix needs outlet yesterday! He is comparable in size to a large corgi. Has not had a good life and deserves a chance.

I had personal custody for part of a day and after finding him on the side of the road and returning him to his owner. After picking him up from me, he immediately went around the corner where he conned a horse rescue into "holding" the dog short term, in exchange for work. Needless to say, the dog has been abandoned.

Horse rescue does not have the the network or the capabilities for small animals. Need an outlet or permanent home asap as I am not sure how long they can keep him.

Dog was raised irresponsibly and given no guidance. Horse rescue has worked wonders over 3 days with crate and leash training. He is a quick student, but there is still more work to be done.

Great with other dogs large and small. Unresponsive to cats. Good with livestock. Very skittish around humans though. Not recommended to test with children until his trust issues are overcome.

Arrangements have been made for neuter, vaccines and chipping If to an individual. This cost will be reimbursed to any rescue that takes custody.

Currently located in Desert Hills. Transportation available.

In the battle of the fly traps, the cheap net with cat food bait outperforms more expensive The Ranch brand. Hands Down!!

We also use fly predators and gallons of fly spray to keep these pests controlled as best we can.

It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of a great horse. Enchanting Ila crossed the rainbow bridge on May 24th at 35 years old.

Anyone who has been to the ranch knew Ila to be Christine’s go to gal. The two competed in mounted shooting and explored the world together for many many years.

The yard looks different now, without her constant nickering at feeding time and we will miss her dearly.

Please consider sharing a memory or photo of Ila below or donating to the rescue in her memory.
