Hello friends and family,
Today Dr Arthur is getting a procedure/surgery done. About a month ago Dr A had a perforation in his left eye. The corneal specialist put glue on the cornea to patch the hole to stabilize it from rupturing. Because there was thinning of the right cornea as well the doctor also put glue to stabilize it. His corneal specialist has decided to remove the glue in Jeff’s eyes while under general sedation and local anesthesia. He wants to get a better look at both eyes and assess their condition. The doctor plans to put in a membrane in the right eye to help with healing and will assist in treatment. If the left eye still has a hole the doctor will likely do a corneal transplant. Because he still has an active infection of parasites in the left eye for sure there is a high possibility that the transplant will fail. We are trying to think positive that this will not be the case and the transplant will be successful and will remain healthy. This surgery is a big step in Dr A’s treatment and will hopefully restore some of his vision. He has been blind in both eyes since April and has been unable to live his best life.
We so appreciate all the shares and support everyone has given us so far. Everyone has been so amazing l! We are still overwhelmed at times with all his treatment has entailed and could not have done this without everyone’s support. We know the end to this will come and we will be back doing what we love but it will still be some time before we get there. Please continue to share our gofundme https://gofund.me/11b7901b and our amazon list https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3PAF2U1H4A7X5?ref_=wl_share.
We love ❤️ you all and we will continue to keep you all in the loop.

Jeff wanted to give everyone a little update video for you guys filmed by our oldest Treygen. He said he will try to do these more often. His condition has gotten a little better but he has a long way to go. The doctor would like to continue to treat the inflammation in Jeff’s corneas for a couple months before he undergoes transplant surgery. If the eye or eyes become too unstable he will need a more urgent transplant surgery. Right now Jeff still has a perforation or hole in the left cornea that has a patch of glue holding it together. As you can imagine that is not comfortable. He also has glue in the right eye that is keeping it from perforating as well.

We are so thankful for everyone who has donated, it has helped our situation a lot. We are grateful for all the other support of those who have sent Amazon gifts. My boys have loved opening things even if it’s boring stuff like household items lol. I will continue to put things we need up one the Amazon list as time goes on. I believe Jeff is actually wearing the hat that one of you sent us and I know everyone knows how much he loves MSU where he went to vet school.

Here are the links to both our Amazon and Go Fund Me again. Please continue to share so we can continue ti get Jeff the help he needs and for our little family

Hello again
We have finally set up a go fund me and I am adding the link at the bottom of this post. Please share the crap out of this!

We are so thankful for all the support so far and anyone is welcome to donate directly to us as well through our Zelle (Please IM me directly through messenger if you want my Zelle info because this post is public). I will continue to update the amazon list so that if you want to send us things we will need during Jeffrey Arthur's treatment you can. We feel incredibly blessed with the support you all have given us through prayers as well and we are happy to report there is some progress with Jeff's eyes and condition. He is in slightly less pain and his eyes have improved overall. He still has a long way to go and will definitely still need multiple surgeries to get him back to his normal life again.

Update:
Jeffrey Arthur's condition has worsened significantly.
His left eye's cornea started to thin out and perforated slightly. There is thinning in the right eye too but no perforation yet. A perforation is a small hole that can be serious for infection and overall corneal health. There was also an increase in the overall pressure of the eyes that can affect the function of his eyes. We were sent to another eye specialist to have an ultrasound done to check the other portions of the eyes and that was the one good news we got, that there is no infection in the back of the eye. At this point a corneal transplant is going to be required in the future. The Dr almost decided to move forward with the transplant early but after doing some research and talking with other experts it was not recommended just yet. Because of all the inflammation he has in his cornea surgery was not the best option and he was put on some medication for the eye pressure and inflammation. We are seeing the Dr every day now because he does not want to miss anything and watch for any changes good or bad. The eyes have responded to the meds for the pressure but the inflammation is still an issue and for transplant to be more successful the inflammation and pressures need to be equally better. Any day now Jeff could need to have an emergency transplant surgery in either one or both eyes. We are hoping and praying that the eyes will respond to the meds so that there is the best outcome in his treatment.
I’m including an Amazon list for things for Jeff or the boys. This can help us in the meantime while we are working on the gofundme.

Hello Family and Friends
Some of you may be aware of what is going on with Jeff/Dr A. I wanted to make a post explaining everything going on with his eyes. Starting on February 17th Jeff had some irritation in his left eye that seemed to feel like an eyelash or something. By the next day he was in a lot of pain and we went to the ER to seek treatment and find out what was going on. We saw an ophthalmologist the next day and they diagnosed him with a corneal scratch and tear in the left eye. Over the next few weeks Jeff’s condition worsened and he wasn’t responding to treatment appropriately and we were eventually referred to a corneal specialist where he was diagnosed with acanthamoeba keratitis (feel free to look it up on google). He has been in treatment for this now for about 2 months now and is in constant pain. We are under the care of some great doctors but this unfortunately is an infection that is slow to respond to treatment and his treatment can take about 6 months to a year and he will likely need a corneal replacement due to all the damage that this infection has done to his corneas. Right now Jeff is completely blind due to the inflammation that the infection causes. The good news is the studies have shown that it is curable. We are doing our best to hold onto that to get us through this difficult time. Jeff is unable to do a lot of the things he loves, care for his patients, play with his boys, and get any decent amount of rest. We will try to do weekly updates if possible and if you have any questions we will try to answer them. We definitely will take any prayers and good juju out there because this has definitely thrown our family’s whole world upside down. Jeff does need 24 hour care because of his recent blindness and often has doctor visits twice a week. I hope this has at least answered some questions to why we have the voicemail we do for the business and to inform those who have no idea what has been going on. Google does have a great description of his condition and please check it out before asking any questions for my sanity please lol.

We will be doing a GOFUNDME in the near future and would appreciate any help. This has been difficult for us to maintain the business to take care of our little family.

Below are some photos of the progression of his condition.

Hello Friends
I know we do not post on here much because we are always busy seeing our patients and their humans.
We had a great loss this last week of some dear clients of ours who left behind 9 cats and 3 dogs. As many of you know our patients and their humans are like family and we are trying to find their furry family members new homes.
All three of the dogs need home are are very sweet, good with other dogs, people, and cats. 5 of the 9 cats still are in need of homes as well. We will be making sure all of them are up to date on an exam and vaccines pro-bono before they go to their new homes preferably.
Please share this post to anyone you think would be interested. If you have any questions about adoption give us a call at 602-376-5646 or email us at [email protected].

Hello Facebook Family

Wanted to reach out to you about a cat we are taking care of for a Rescue we work with here in the valley.
This cat is about 10yrs old and needs his leg amputated and dental work.
We wouldn’t normally reach out but this boy is so special and sweet and deserves a real chance at a happy life.

His care would cost the rescue about $1,500 with us and the other Vet that will be doing the amputation.

If interested in donating for Hugh’s care please contact us via email at [email protected]. The rescue is an official rescue so it would be tax deductible if you donate directly to them.

Thank you for your consideration ❤️🐾
