Soon to be tomato time! Our clients are seeing their tomato dreams coming to life on our plants. We have a terrific grower that we use for the bulk of our plants that are more “mainstream” like Red Cherry, Yellow Pear, etc. Then for the specialty varieties like Purple Bumblebee, Brown Sugar, and San Marzano Redorta - we take those into our own hands and start them ourselves. Can’t wait to get these beautiful babies on a sammich!

FROST Warning!!! ❄️ - [Campaign URL] It's time to cover up the gardens this week. We have cold night temps expected around 36 degrees (current forecast) this Friday, January 10th - Monday, January 13th - BRRRR! I have to confess we are pretty happy this is happening. Part of the cycle of nature is frosts/freezes which cull back the insect population. Without these cold nights, bug populations soar, fruit trees don't get the chilling hours they need to fruit, etc. Bring on the BRRR!

So this is our new addition to our little urban farmstead. I have been waiting years for this! I am SO excited and while waiting what seemed like forever for it to cure.. I finally have been able to cook this weekend. The first thing I cooked was of course - veg. I went out to the garden and got carrots, red and gold beets, and broccoli. Carrots were simple with olive oil only then drizzled with AZ honey and some fresh parsley when they came out. Golden beets got dressed with a little cider vinegar and lemon thyme, and the red got rosemary and balsamic - then hit with a little goat cheese and a blood orange vinaigrette with arugula. Broccoli got shaved garlic, red chili flakes and lemon. I am completely hooked and may never leave my backyard. ♥️
