Have we forgotten what a ripe tomato looks like? Well here it is. I just picked up a sandwich and promptly went home and swapped out the tomato for a slice of my homegrown Caspian Pink. I feel like we get so used to sub par, gas ripened tomatoes that are commercially sold, that we forget. I hope this reminds you. ♥️

Lookie what this eggplant turned into! From the garden, to the oven, to the table. A client and friend just sent me these beauties of how she’s using the eggplant that is coming out of her garden and turning it into a delish dip for a poolside party today.

Umm… helllloooooooo beautiful! This orange beauty was the highlight of my afternoon. Spent the afternoon helping a client that had tomatoes coming at her from every direction get the first load in the house so the birds didn’t decide they wanted in on the deal.

Did you know that today is crucial to farmers? Leap year was created to keep our days and months aligned so we can keep our seasons in their appropriate months. Without it, in 100 years, calendars would be 24 days off and in 700 years our summers would end up being in December like our southern hemisphere friends are now. Enjoy the extra day friends!

Kinda proud of these two… my sourdough game is getting stronger. This year we did a garden expansion in the backyard and I am going to try growing wheat to mill for my breads. It’s going to be a small patch but hoping for a successful new adventure in growing.

This is a variety of space saving conical cabbage we grow for our raised bed garden clients called Caraflex. We usually plant it in green, but this year we found a beautiful heirloom in red. I am loving this beauty, as she kinda looks like a rose. These were spotted in a clients garden and are hitting their kitchen this weekend!

So yesterday we helped Sprout a School Garden in Phoenix! We collaborated with and (please follow these 2 innovative programs - they are doing AWESOME things for schools!) to transform 3 different spaces on a school campus in a matter of hours! Sprouts provided a whopping 50 volunteers to revamp an old school garden into a fresh new space that got rid of the grass, installed drip irrigation, and put in 4 new painted beds and planted their fall garden. Then the troops added color to another gazebo space with several pots filled with loads of purple flowers and hanging baskets of strawberries for the kiddos. Lastly, we updated a pollinator garden space by updating drip irrigation, lending general clean up of plants in a busy courtyard, and adding in new milkweed plants generously donated by . Everyone jumped in from painting, planting, moving wheelbarrows of rock and compost, clean up, and SO much more. It was a spectacular day filled with such a cool vibe of so many people coming together to do good things for kids. We truly love what we do but this project packed a little extra punch of gratitude, humility and fulfillment. A BIG thanks for choosing us to help bring this project to life. 🌱💚

I don’t really “do” pink, but these zinnias were just calling to me yesterday. They are outta control in our garden right now. I am going to be pulling them soon… but man, it’s gonna be tough.

It’s pepper time! These are big beautiful C***o di Toro Italian frying peppers in red and gold. They are my favorite for flavor and definitely for sweetness. I stuffed these last night with cannellini beans, cherry tomatoes, fresno chili, basil, burrata and Comte cheeses, and a smidge of basmati rice. These taste like an AZ summer! 🌶️ Swipe to see 👀
