December will bring a few changes in our schedule here at Desert Hills Animal Hospital

We will close early (5 pm instead of 7pm) on Thursday December 5

We will be closed this Saturday (December 7)

We will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (December 24, 25)

We will be closed New Years Eve and New Years Day (December 31, January 1)

Meet Mabel, her mom noticed a lump that grew exponentially into golf ball sized mass. She got her into Dr. Cellers, and we were able to send a small sample of liquid expressed from the mass to create cytology slides for a lab to review. Results showed a soft tissue sarcoma, a form of cancer.

Within 4 months it grew to softball size and mom knew it had to come out. Dr. Cellers was able to cut out the mass with clean margins. She’s healing up and sutures come out tomorrow!

November is pet cancer awareness month, affecting one in four dogs and one in five cats. This month is a reminder to keep up with veterinary visits and check for any changes in their health. Does your pet have a lump or a breed commonly known to develop cancer?

Shepherd mix found in our neighborhood. Major cross roads 19th ave and cactus. Minor roads 21st ave and larkspur. Very skiddish but friendly and submissive once caught. Liked our dog. No chip no collar.

Found female young German shepherd around 7th street and Peoria this morning. Very friendly. Dehydrated but in good shape. Safe with finder!

Why microchip??

Not sure not does it increase your chances of your lost pet being returned BUT our home again microchips are able to tell us your pets internal temperature.

What does that mean? No more bum pokes (at least here with us).

Our microchips are $50 to place and we will register it for you! 😎

We hope everyone will have a great restful Labor Day Weekend.

Since we were closed the previous weekend (Dr. Cellers absence at his continuing education meeting), we have decided to be open on Saturday (August 31) but will be closed Monday (September 2).
