🐾 Visit your local businesses like restaurants, coffee shops, pet stores, boutiques, home improvement stores, salons, car detailing, dog walking, etc. Let them know you’re a volunteer with TRU Rescue and that we’re holding an annual online auction this November to fundraise so we can keep saving precious lives. Mention to them it’s a great way to get exposure for their business and help a fantastic cause. Whether they want to donate a gift card (super popular and easy) or other item, it all helps!
🐾 Can’t visit in person? EMAIL or message businesses through social media. If you can’t pick up an item that a business is willing to donate, let us know and we’ll find a volunteer who can help grab it! Businesses also have the option of sending a gift card via mail to our rescue!
🐾 Do you have friends who make artisan crafts, run an online store, or even have unused or gently used items in their home that they would be willing to donate? How about beer and wine, liquor, designer handbags and jewelry?

Just look at our darling 🩵FROST🩵!!! Besides being exquisitely stunning, this blue eyed beauty is sweet, affectionate, dog friendly & loves people! Frost has been in professional training where she’s been a good student and has learned basic commands. She weighs about 52 pounds and is 2 1/2 years old. Frost is a pretty chill gal who is in search of her forever home!!!

Meet our adorable 🌺SOYIA🌺!!! This little lady is about 3 years old, weighs 41 pounds and is crate & house trained!
Soyia has been in professional training and is doing wonderfully. She’s extremely attentive to her handler, knows recall & heel like the back of her paw, and loves having a job.
Soyia would do well as an only pup, or could be in a multi-dog home with proper introductions which our trainer is happy to facilitate. Soyia loves to go for walks and hikes and would benefit from an active home. Don’t miss out on this precious island girl who came to us all the way from Nassau🌴🩵

🐾Adorable Sally arrived at the shelter very shy, but has opened up quite a bit. She loves other dogs and is good with children too! She is practicing walking on a leash🩵
🐾Sally is a Coonhound and is just a puppy at 7 months old! She weighs 36 pounds. Sally tested positive for Lyme, and will need to start a course of antibiotics to treat it.

🐾Sweet pumpkin was found as a stray running the streets in Virginia. She is a shelter staff favorite! She LOVES laps and cuddles. The closer she is to you the happier she is. She’s doing fantastic with keeping her kennel clean!
🐾Pumpkin is a hound mix and estimated to be 1-2 years old and weighs 28 pounds.

Did you get to meet AWESOME ADDY at our event yesterday? This 30 lb. gal has love and ears to spare! She is currently our longest resident foster and has been looking for her perfect family since April 2023! 😯😯 She is about 2 1/2 years old and maybe some sort of small shepherd mix?
Sweet Addy loves being outside, playing with her toys and laying in the sun, so an active family with a securely fenced yard would be ideal for her. She would love to have another playful dog as a constant companion and humans who are home most of the day. Addy is affectionate, smart, and (obviously) adorable. Let’s find this girl her FOREVER! 🩵🩵

We have 2️⃣ lovely girls arriving WEDNESDAY THE 11th that will need foster or foster to adopt homes! Both will be spayed once they get settled up here.
SALLY is a hound mix, 7 months old and under 40 lbs. She can be shy but opens up quickly. She is positive for Lyme’s but it is treatable and doesn’t affect type of foster home she needs. She is dog friendly and walks well on leash!
Pumpkin is also a hound mix, 1-2 years old and under 30 lbs. This girl is SWEET, always wanting to be touching you or (even better) in your lap. She is learning to walk well on leash and shows signs of being house trained already.

Our 🖤PEARL🖤 is a rare gem too! She is 3 1/2 years old, 75 lbs. and a boxer/lab mix. She absolutely loves to splash around in her dog pool and play in the yard. Her dream life would include walks to the river or a nice back yard with a splash pad or kiddie pool! Pearl is house trained, crate trained and dog friendly.

We hope you had as much fun this Labor Day weekend as 💥MAMA ANJEA!💥She came to us needing extra tlc … on top of extended heartworm treatment, and other tick bourne diseases, we learned that Anjea had been shot in the face in Lousiana🤮🤬
Just look at her now🥰 gorgeous, happy and healthy!!! She has completed heartworm treatment with us! This great hound gal is about 50 lbs. and 3-4 yrs old. She had a “ruff” start to life in Louisiana but all that is behind her now! Anjea is dog and kid friendly, trained on an electric fence, and always down for playtime in the yard and then a good nap on the couch! 🕺🏻FRIDAY VIBES🕺🏻 How has this little guy not been adopted yet?!? BUSTER is a 2-year-old, 10 lb. Chihuahua/Poodle mix (his foster did DNA!). He is your typical busy body who loves to explore, climb, and play… and will dart out the front door for an adventure if given the chance! Buster does well with the dog and cat in his foster home and absolutely loves kids, perhaps ages 7+!
