Scooby, Dooby, Do you want to adopt Scooby?

Meet Scooby, the lovable 1-year, 2-month-old Pitbull mix who is sure to steal your heart this holiday season! Weighing in at nearly 70 pounds, this playful pup is a bundle of joy, radiating warmth and a goofy personality! With the holiday season approaching, Scooby is ready to share in all the festive fun – whether it’s joining you for winter walks through snowy parks, playing in the backyard while the snowflakes fall, or cuddling up by the fire with a cozy blanket after a day of adventure.

Scooby is already familiar with basic commands like “sit” and “lie down,” but he’s eager to learn more, making him the perfect companion for someone who enjoys training and bonding with their furry friend. His gentle nature shines through, especially when it comes to treats—he takes them with the utmost care, showcasing his sweet disposition.

With a medium energy level, Scooby thrives in an active household where he can romp around, play fetch, and enjoy walks. Scooby does have a slight limp on his right hind leg, so potential adopters should understand Scooby could have possible future medical needs.

So, whether you're taking him on festive outings or simply relaxing at home, Scooby is ready to fill your life with laughter, love, and all the joy this season has to offer. If you're looking for a loyal companion to join your family and create lasting memories, Scooby is the perfect match!

Meet Dixon, a handsome 2-year-old male Pit Bull eagerly awaiting his forever home. With his striking appearance and vibrant personality, Dixon is sure to capture your heart. With medium to high energy levels, he's ready to accompany you on all of life's adventures, from outdoor hikes to leisurely strolls in the park.

While Dixon may benefit from some basic training, his intelligence and eagerness to please make him a wonderful candidate for further development. Helping instill potty-training skills will help strengthen Dixon's confidence! In his previous home, he coexisted amazingly well with cats, being gentle when interacting and understanding when they wanted to be left alone. Dixon also enjoyed playing in fields with the other neighborhood dogs, but was not a fan of smaller dogs and would be best suited in a home with a large yard for him to run to his hearts content.

If you're looking for a loyal and energetic companion who’s ready to learn and grow, Dixon is the perfect match. While he would benefit from some additional training to help with potty-training, and building confidence in his new home, he is eager to please and just waiting for the right guidance. With your love and patience, Dixon will thrive and become a wonderful addition to your family. Open your heart and home to this sweet boy, and together, you'll create countless memories filled with love.

Still have room for desert? Come say hello to Oreo!

Meet Oreo, our lovable 2-year-old Labrador retriever mix with a heart as sweet as her name! This gentle, enthusiastic girl is on the lookout for a forever family ready to shower her with all the love and attention she could ever ask for, and she'll happily return the favor tenfold. With her smart cookie charm, Oreo has already mastered the art of sitting on command—and, as a lover of snacks, just wait until you see her shine with a little training and the promise of tasty treats! While Oreo is primarily a mellow companion who adores cuddle time and pets here at the shelter, she may show off her playful side more once she feels at home. Being a younger pup, she’ll appreciate regular exercise to keep her happy and healthy, so a fairly active family would be the perfect match.

If you've been looking for an adorable lovebug to brighten your days, bring Oreo home and experience the sweeter side of life!

Please note, Oreo does not do well with cats or chickens, and should meet any resident dogs before adoption to ensure a harmonious pack!

Meet Christian, a stunning 1-year, 4 month-old male Border Collie mix with a heart full of energy, charm, and intelligence! His striking good looks will definitely catch your eye, but it’s his personality that will steal your heart. Christian has a playful and confident nature, and he brings an infectious burst of puppy energy wherever he goes. He's present and focused on the person walking him, eager to bond and share every moment with them.

Christian excels on the leash, walking with impressive skills that show just how intelligent he is. He’s quick to learn, already knowing how to sit on command, and he’s motivated by treats, which makes training a fun experience for both of you. Whether it’s a long walk, a game of fetch, or a training session, Christian is always up for some fun and mental stimulation.

While Christian is friendly and affectionate, he would do best as the only dog in the household, or with a meet-and-greet with any other dogs prior to adoption. He’s looking for a home where he can thrive, play, and continue learning with a family that can provide the structure and patience he needs. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this loyal, handsome boy, Christian will reward you with all the love, fun, and devotion you could ever ask for.

As you enjoy your holiday meals with loved ones near and dear, please remember that dogs have sensitive stomachs and cannot digest many of the foods we enjoy. While it's tempting to share, certain ingredients like onions, garlic, grapes, chocolate, and bones can be harmful to our furry friends. Let's keep them safe and happy by sticking to treats made just for them!

From all of us and our sweet shelter pups at the Jackson County Animal Shelter, we wish you a wonderful and safe holiday season!

I can’t get enough of human attention and would love to be the perfect companion for an active household.

I’m ready to learn new things, and I’m eager to please, so I’ll need a family who’s willing to invest time in my continued training.
