As we celebrate this holiday season, we want to wish a peaceful, relaxing, and joyous time to you and yours β especially to those family members with fur and four paws! The greatest gift of all is spending time with those you love, and we hope your days are filled with the company of those near and dear.
As we reflect on the past year, we are deeply grateful to our wonderful community members who have opened their hearts and homes to shelter cats and dogs. And to our incredible FOTAS volunteers. Your support truly makes a difference, and together, we are creating a lasting impact on the lives of these incredible animals.
Wishing everyone a holiday season filled with love, warmth, and the joy of furry friends!

** UPDATE: Orlando has been adopted! ***
Meet Orlando!
Orlando is a 2-year-old Pit Bull and Labrador Retriever mix who came to us as a shy, nervous stray, unsure of people and new surroundings. Since joining our care, he has made incredible progress in building trust and confidence, and we couldn't be more proud of how far he's come! Orlando has truly blossomed into a social and loving boy with a heart full of potential. While he may still be a little cautious around new faces, heβs proven to be a true people-oriented pup once he feels safe. In a calm, patient environment, Orlando thrives, adjusting at his own pace and growing more comfortable with each passing day. With continued basic training and positive reinforcement, weβre confident he will continue to gain confidence. Orlando will thrive in a supportive home where heβs gently guided, helping him feel secure and ready to form deep, lasting bonds. He's an affectionate, sweet boy who deserves an owner who can nurture his growth and help him shine. We can't wait to see the wonderful companion he will become!

***** UPDATE: Ferdinand has been adopted!! *****
Introducing Ferdinand, a 1 year-7 month old Rottweiler who is as sweet as he is giant. This sweet, shy boy is looking for a patient, loving forever family that can help him grow into the brave, confident dog heβs meant to be. Ferdinand has a big heart filled with love to give, and he hopes to receive the same in return. He thrives in a stable, predictable environment where he feels safe and secure.
Ferdinand already knows how to sit on command and is excited to learn more while bonding with his new family through consistent training and plenty of tasty treats! Though he has a calm demeanor at the shelter, his energy may increase once heβs in a home where he feels comfortable. Therefore, a family that can provide him with regular exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation would be ideal. While weβre unsure about his compatibility with cats, heβs open to meeting any other dogs in the household before adoption. We recommend Ferdinand is best suited in a home with a confident walker as he is strong!
If youβre ready to experience the joy of unconditional, loyal love, bring Ferdinand into your home and let him show you the greatest gift of all!

** UPDATE: Rhino has been adopted! ***
Meet Rhino, the lovable 5-year-old Pitbull who embodies the spirit of a gentle giant! Weighing in at just over 80 pounds, this extra special bundle of joy is as affectionate as he is playful. Despite his size, Rhino moves with surprising agility, like a rhino on the run, bringing a delightful energy to any environment. His goofy personality shines through in every interaction, as he leans into you with all his weight, showering you with love and warmth. Rhino is also incredibly smart, quickly mastering commands like "sit" and "lie down," especially when there are treats involved!
Rhino would make a wonderful addition to your family, showcasing his loving, loyal nature. Rhino hopes to bring a sense of joy and warmth to your home, not just for the holidays, but all year long. Due to his size and exuberant nature, we recommend a home without small children, so that everyone can enjoy his playful spirit safely. Additionally, we recommend a meet and greet with any canine siblings prior to adoption to ensure a great fit.
If you're looking for a companion who will fill your life with laughter, love, and a little bit of rhino-sized fun, Rhino is ready to charge into your heart this season and beyond!
