Dr. Johnston’s has been practicing veterinary medicine for 30 years. She graduated from University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. She then spent the next ten years working at several veterinary clinics. Finally, on May 15, 2000, she fulfilled her dream and bought her own practice, Companion Animal Care Center. Dr. Johnston specializes in the treatment of cats and dogs. We foc

us on preventive medicine and cater our vaccine protocol to each individual patient based on lifestyle and risk factors. We offer longer appointment times to give each pet the personal attention they deserve. We perform basic surgeries and also have a therapeutic laser for healing. We keep current with improved ways to treat our patients and attempt to make it as low stress as we can. Call or visit if you are interested in learning more about us!

November is Pet Diabetes Month. Often we can prevent diabetes in our kitty patients by keeping their weight lower and controlling their diets. We now have new options for cats that develop diabetes that do not involve insulin injections, as long as they have not been on insulin in the past. If your cat is acting unusual let us know so that we can do an exam and run some tests. Early detection can give you the best results.
