It’s National Take Your Cat to the Vet Day, which makes this the perfect time to talk about Magnus’ dental story!
Magnus came in for a routine dental cleaning and he did amazing thanks to the Drs and the LVC staff. It’s very important to keep up on your pets oral hygiene because it can impact their lives if they have pain in their mouths.
Magnus didn’t have much tartar, but it’s still important to have your veterinarian look at your pets teeth and when they are getting a dental cleaning under anesthesia, full mouth X-rays should always be done to make sure there are no problems under the gum line.

"Best local vet for the care of your dogs and/or cats.
They were extremely understanding and accommodating when our Siberian husky, Sheba, passed. They handled the entire situation for us. They even gave us a plaque of her paw imprint in the end with a lovely message. I presently take my new Siberian here with my 12-year-old golden retriever. I love Laveen Veterinary Center!" Bernd F.

A Guide to Brushing Your Dog's Teeth at Home
Our videos are BACK! And this time around we are offering you some instructional videos that will help you at home. Check out the 1st video in our series that is a guide to brushing your dog's teeth at home. Dr. Ware walks you through the entire process, providing tips and tricks along the way. Thanks to Evie for being such a great patient :)
The best way to combat periodontal disease is by regularly brushing your dog’s teeth. For many dogs, once brushing becomes a part of their daily routine they will begin to expect and enjoy it. Brushing three times a week is the minimum recommendation to help remove plaque and prevent tartar accumulation. It is best to teach your dog to accept tooth brushing while he is still a puppy. If you have an older dog, the training process may take a little longer, but it is still well worth the effort.
