Welcome our dynamic duo: Thelma and Louise!

These two gorgeous girls were found by an Animal Control officer in a rural area. They were barely surviving in a ditch with their littermates. They were all taken to the county shelter where they waited to find homes for over a month. Eventually three of the puppies found homes, but these two girls needed help so we decided to rescue them and bring them into our care.

We’re guessing Thelma and Louise are Anatolian Shepherd/Labrador mixes who are around 14 weeks old. They’re large in size, but still have their baby teeth! They play well with other dogs, know how to use a doggie door, and love attention. So far, they’ve been gentle, fairly mellow, and have very sweet demeanors. They’re big girls who we assume will grow into quite large dogs. If you think Thelma or Louise might be a good fit for your family, apply today to meet and adopt one of our sweet girls.

Mavis – Mastiff/Labrador mix – 5yrs – female –

Have you met Mavis? This stunning gal was picked up as a stray by a county shelter. Animal Control realized that she had been picked up previously and contacted her owners thinking they would come for her. Sadly, their response was “Keep her!” 💔 When we spotted her at that county shelter, we decided to get her out of there and make her part of our SHR family.

Mavis is very sweet! She loves attention and while she can be a bit wary of new people, once she is comfortable she’s very affectionate. She is housebroken, knows basic commands, and will do anything for a treat! Mavis walks well on a leash, pulls a bit with the excitement of the adventure, but corrects easily. She’s happy, quirky, and loves life! She will do well with an easy-going male dog or as an only dog. She loves humans the most! She’s fairly mellow and loves to bask in a sunny spot. She will also make a great walking, hiking, or camping companion and is all around great company. Once Mavis is in a loving home, she will be loyal and devoted for life! Ten week old Chandler is one of our Golden Retriever/Pit Bull mix babies. This little lady is very petite, but makes up for it with her huge personality. She’s sassy, snuggly, and outgoing. She’ll happily wrestle with the big dogs and then climb up on your lap for some love. She’s a very fun puppy!

Rosie and her brothers came to us after being born into a horrible hoarding situation. Rosie is a healthy, happy girl, but is deaf and still has a bit of a head bobble. While Rosie can’t hear, she can absolutely understand. She quickly learned how to use the doggie-door, play and socialize with the other puppies and big dogs in the house, and follow along when called inside. Her foster mom says she’s super sweet, gentle, and loves attention. When Rosie’s really happy, she runs in big circles and has the cutest zoomies. She’s a joy to watch and lives life to the fullest.
