Hey fur-iends! 🐾 September is National Preparedness Month and it’s a great reminder to plan ahead for emergencies and disasters that can strike at any time. 🚨
It’s worth it to plan for your pet’s safety, as well as your own. Things you can do to prepare include:
🦴Packing an emergency kit with essentials such as food, water, medications, waste bags, leashes/harnesses, and a favorite blanket or toy
⚠️Research nearby areas and shelters that accept pets
❗Make sure your pet’s microchips and ID tags have current information
🏥 Include copies of your pet’s medical records and a recent photo of them with your own important documents
🚨Normalize your pet’s carriers and crates, and run through an evacuation plan to minimize stress in a real emergency
We hope you never have to enact your emergency plans, but you’ll have peace of mind knowing you and your pets are prepared! 🐶🐱
We will be closed on Monday, September 2nd in observance of the Labor Day holiday. ☀️ We’ll be back to normal office hours on Tuesday, September 3rd. 🐾🏥
🚨 Emergency Care:
In case of pet emergencies during closure, please contact VEG at 602-671-0331 or Blue Pearl Emergency Hospital at 602-995-3757.
Wishing everyone a woof-derful holiday weekend! 🐱🐶

Hello fur-iends! 🐾 Today is International Blind Dog Day and we’re highlighting these special pups who embody trust and resilience! 💕 While they may have lost their sight, these dogs haven't lost their ability to love and bring us joy. ✨
Visual impairment in dogs can be caused by a number of factors, from genetics, injury, old age, or disease. 🩺 Adaptable and determined, dogs can learn to navigate their surroundings using their other senses and with the help of their humans. Sticking to a routine, keeping their environment familiar, leading them with your voice, and finding ways to engage their other senses (squeaky toys!) are all woof-derful ways to support your pup!
Be sure to like this post if you’ve experienced love and companionship with a visually impaired dog. 🐶💞

Hey fur-iends! 💕 There’s a simple but important aspect of pet safety you can do at your next appointment with us – check your pet’s microchip! 🔍
Microchipping is a woof-derful tool that ensures our beloved pets have a ticket back home, should they go on an unexpected adventure. 🐶🐱 We’d be happy to ensure your pets are microchipped and their information is up-to-date when you’re next in the office! 🐾❤️
Hey pet parents! 🐾 Have you noticed your cat or dog can’t stop scratching, licking, or biting their skin? It could be more than just a little itch.
Allergies, parasites, ear infections, stress, thyroid issues or skin conditions are just a few of the causes that might be to blame. 🐱🐶
Call us at 602.955.5757 to schedule your pet’s exam, and let’s get to the root of the problem. We’re here to help keep your pets happy, healthy, and itch-free! 🩺❤️

Hello fur-iends! 🐾 Today, and every day, we celebrate mixed-breed dogs - aka mutts! 🐶 National Mutt Day was founded to promote the adoption of mixed-breed dogs and honoring these one-of-a-kind pups that fill our lives with love and joy. 💖
Did you know around 80% of dogs in shelters are mixed breeds? Often overlooked in shelters, we hope you’ll consider opening your heart and home to a mixed breed dog. 🏡 If you already have a woof-derful mutt in your life, like this post and tag us in a picture of your pup! 🐕💕
Be sure to give your puppers (and kitties) an extra belly rub or scritches behind the ears from all of us at Animal Care Hospital of Phoenix! 🥰🐶🐱
Hey pet parents! 🐾 Summer thunderstorms can be scary for our pets, so here are some ways to keep your furry friends safe during the storm season! 🌩
⛈️ When it’s getting stormy, bring outside pets where they’ll be safe from rain, thunder, and lightning.
💖 Set up a cozy space for your pet, with their bed or favorite blanket.
🎵 Play calming music or white noise to distract your pet from the sounds of the storm.
🦴🧶 Use engaging treats and toys to keep your pets distracted.
🏥 Call us at 602-955-5757 to set up an appointment for pet behavior counseling; storm phobias is a treatment area we specialize in!
Hey fur-iends! Are you the proud pet parent of a kitten? 💕🐱Ensuring your kitten receives their vaccinations in a timely manner is crucial for their health. 💉
Kittens are most susceptible to infectious diseases when they are under six months old. They need a series of core vaccinations starting at 6-8 weeks, with boosters every 3-4 weeks until they are around 16 weeks old. 🏥💖
Call us at 602-955-5757 if you have questions about kitten care and to schedule your kitten’s check-ups and vaccines! 🐾
Hey pet parents! 🐾 While you may be enjoying a cone this National Ice Cream Day, remember that ice cream isn't a safe snack for our furry friends. 🍦🐶🐱
Many ice creams contain ingredients like xylitol, dairy, chocolate, and high amounts of sugar, which can be harmful to pets. Instead, try these pet-safe options:
Frozen plain yogurt (in moderation) 🥛
Homemade frozen fruit treats 🍓
Store-bought pet-safe ice creams 🐾
Enjoy your ice cream and give your pet healthy, safe, and yummy treats! 💕
Hey there, fur-tastic friends! 🐶🐱 We are honored to be part of your pet’s health journey and your feedback means the world to us! 🏥

Hey pet parents! 🐾 Your dog is a beloved member of your family and their health is very important to you. 💕 One of the best things you can do for your furry friend’s wellness is to ensure they receive regular preventative care. 🩺
Preventative care is your dog’s first line of defense! Annual exams help prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases in their early stages, often before any noticeable symptoms begin. 🌟 The earlier the treatment starts, the more effective it is in keeping your pet from unnecessary pain. 🐶❤️
At the annual exam, we will evaluate your dog’s temperature, skin and coat, ear and hearing acuity, lung and chest, internal health, oral hygiene, eye, and visual responsiveness. 🏥 Call us at 602-955-5757 to schedule your pup’s annual exam today! 📅🐕
