Great article on relaxed observation with our dogs! How many of us like to people watch? Just as good for our dogs of all ages! I do this all the time with my clients and love doing it with my dogs!

Does anyone else feel the frustration of constant cleaning up after your pets! Monday, had to get the toys from the bottom of the pool, then Levi ate the parchment with bacon grease but left no mess till Tuesday when he was vomiting all over and kept me up all night! Today Zero found freah tortise p**p to eat in the house and had to wash the cots, in the mean time decided to fix the second hole the tortoises dug and then found out they broke the drip line and dug up some of the grapevine roots! Naughty, naughty! Not to mention vacuuming and cleaning the windows only to rinse, lather and repeat! Thanks for listening, rant over!

Not my picture or my post but I absolutely love this!

In this photo you see two species, a human and a canine. The human has approximately 1 billion neurons in their brain while the canine has appoximately 500 million. Now let me explain why all of us in the dog industry become extremely agitated on a daily basis. This is a comparison of the two species and the silly expectations people place on canines.
1) Human- Given two plus years to accomplish potty training.
1) Canine- Human wants canine potty trainined in two weeks or they will have to rehome the dog....Please take the diaper off your eight month old human and let them crawl around your floor, lets just see the results....
2) Human- Gives human babies pain relievers and various numbing agents to help appease the pain of teething.
2) Canine- Demands Dog Trainer tells them how to reprimand their dog for chewing.
3) Human- Encourages young humans to run and play with endless forms of mental and physical stimulation.
3) Canine- “I have got to teach this dog to calm down!!!”
4) Human- Given 20 plus years to complete an education and become a productive member of society.
4) Canine- Expected to behave flawlessly after 6 weeks of training.
5) Human- Given sick and personal days from work and endless excuses for poor performance.
5) Canine- Expects to perfom perfectly 365 days a year with no questions asked. Canines are also not allowed to feel bad or forget.
6) Human- Expects a pay raise anually for the job they perform.
6) Canine- Humans demand their dog perform more every year and don’t believe they should reward the dog for the work they perform.
Dear human....If you don’t train, don’t complain!

Zero did his first off leash walk stood at my side till I released him and Levi. They ran around gave him 50ft did a recall and BAM! He and levi were back at my side! Zero did better than Levi, ❤️

It's that time of year for summertime fun! Is your dog afraid of the pool? What your dog to get exercise? Need some rehad therapy? The pool is such a great place.

Do you use clicker and shaping to train your dog? There are some dogs who respond fearfully the first time they hear a clicker. Then the owner stops using it. I have two comments... 1) If your dog freaks out at a simple click-click noise, you have a bigger problem on your hands. Your dog is fragile. 2) The best way to fix your fragile dog is to take a finite event (the sound of the click) and change its meaning. If your dog is afraid of the clicker do this. Do this outside. 1) Put clicker in your pocket. 2) Stand 20 feet away 3) Click the clicker 4) Walk to your dog and offer a hunk of something yummy. (A piece of chicken, beef, beef liver, string cheese) 6) Repeat. It usually takes about ten minutes of doing this. Done! Now you have a very precise training tool and you have a baseline about fixing speed bumps in your dog's life.
