Sweet little Grainne is already stealing hearts! 💕 This 10-week-old Irish Wolfhound puppy has just found her forever home, and she’s already stealing hearts! 💕 Curious, adventurous, and full of sweetness, Grainne just wants to explore the world—starting with the great outdoors. 🏡🌿 We are absolutely smitten with her!
Did you know? Irish Wolfhounds are known as gentle giants, with a history dating back to ancient times when they were noble companions of kings and warriors. Despite their size, they’re incredibly affectionate and love being part of the family.
Grainne’s journey is just beginning, and we can’t wait to watch her grow! Welcome home, sweet girl! 🥰🐶

Little Bruno may have a broken leg, but he’s getting all the love and snuggles he needs. 💛🐶 He wasn’t a fan of being in his kennel alone, so our team made sure he felt safe and cozy—right where he wanted to be, snuggled up close.

Patrick is 11 ½, and his dad noticed he was losing weight—so he brought him in to make sure everything was okay. ❤️ As our pets get older, even small changes can be a sign that something deeper is going on. Weight loss, changes in appetite, or just seeming "off" are all reasons to check in with your vet.

Senior pets have given us their love for so many years, and they deserve the same love and care in return. Early detection can make all the difference in keeping them happy and comfortable in their golden years.

Here’s to Patrick and all the amazing senior pets out there. 🐾💕 If you ever notice a change, trust your instincts—they’d do the same for you.

Sometimes all you need is a little extra TLC—Bo’s weekly laser therapy sessions are all about reducing pain and inflammation while keeping him feeling his best. 🐾💡

He might not love it at first, but with plenty of cuddles, snacks, and toys, Bo has learned to relax and enjoy his sessions. Laser therapy is just one piece of his tailored treatment plan that’s helping him stay playful, happy, and healthy at home with his family. 🐱💙

Mesa - Steve Nelson joined our Team in Oct 2024 in our Maintenance department, & from his very first shift, he has been nothing short of exceptional. His efficiency, helpfulness, & work ethic have truly set him apart. He takes tremendous pride in his work, treating the hospital as if he were caring for his own home. His meticulous attention to detail & precision in every task reflect his dedication to excellence. With his extensive knowledge & impressive skills in repairs, he has proven himself to be an invaluable asset to our team. He is always willing to lend a helping hand. Steve, thank you, it is truly an honor to have someone of your caliber on our team. Your dedication & hard work inspire us all, & we look forward to many more successes together.

Chandler - Caitlin Overall joined our Team in March 2020 as an EM Technician. Later that same year she completed her national & state board exams to become a CVT! She has shown amazing personal & professional growth by proving herself to be a reliable team member, compassionate care-giver, & an engaged Employee Owner. She exemplifies all of 1st Pet’s Core Values. She is very compassionate, kind, reliable, helpful, task oriented, & seeks other work when her on tasks are complete. As a shift-leader, she leads by example & is detail oriented. Caitlin, thank you for being such an amazing team member. We can’t thank you enough!

North Valley - Surgical Team lead by Dr. Sidaway who is incredibly dedicated. He provides outstanding patient care & goes above & beyond for his patients & team. He is a wonderful teacher, & demonstrates remarkable patience & resilience. We are lucky to have him.
Ashley, who came on board three months ago, has seamlessly integrated into the 1st Pet culture. She is an exceptional team player—not just with the surgical team, but across other departments as well.
Natalia, who has been with us two months, has also flourished. She has proven to be the perfect fit & has completed the team beautifully.
This team is constantly striving to improve themselves, each other, and 1st Pet.

💙 Meet Bo, the bravest little fighter with the biggest heart! 💙
Bo came into my life full of energy and curiosity—always exploring, always playful, and always getting into just a little bit of mischief. He’s the kind of cat who greets you with a chirp, keeps his brothers Hal and Iggy on their toes, and makes everyone smile with his adorable quirks.

But last July, things changed. Bo started acting differently—twitching, missing his usual jumps, and not quite himself. I knew something was wrong, so I brought him to our emergency team, where we discovered he’d had a pretty scary accident at home. He’s been on quite a journey since then, and every step of the way, Bo has shown so much courage and strength.

🐾 Before Bo's first underwater therapy session, his mom worked hard to prepare him at home. She introduced him to water gradually in the bathtub, using plenty of encouragement, treats, and breaks to help him feel comfortable. Thanks to her efforts, Bo was ready to take on the challenge of water therapy!

Today, Bo is thriving with a treatment plan that includes laser therapy, underwater treadmill sessions, and a lot of love. He’s proof that even when life throws you challenges, with the right care and support, you can overcome anything.

From a dream in 5th grade to standing in front of a veterinary teaching hospital not once, but twice—separated by 17 years of hard work, determination, and an unshakable passion for animals. 🩺✨ Dr. Thomas Lindgren remembers both of these moments vividly: the first, as a bright-eyed future veterinarian full of hope, and the second, as a graduate ready to bring that dream to life.

Eight years of undergrad and veterinary school didn’t just make him a doctor—it made him the kind of doctor who pours his heart into every patient. 💕 Someone who has been dreaming of this for so long doesn’t just do the job; they live it. He’ll tell you the journey wasn’t always easy—late nights studying, early mornings in the clinic, and countless sacrifices along the way. But every step was worth it, because this dream wasn’t just about him; it was about the animals he knew he could help and the families he could support. That heart, that dedication—it’s something you feel the moment you meet him. 💕
Today, he’s fulfilling his dream doing what he loves most: helping pets and the families that love them. Whether it’s in the OR or the exam room, Dr. Lindgren is the kind of veterinarian every pet deserves.
