As many as 50 million US pets don’t receive necessary veterinary care. Difficulties in obtaining care for our pets can range from financial hardship to transportation/location difficulties, so our goal is to help outfit our partners with grants that can help them take care of the pets in their community. Bruce’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. At 13 years old, Bruce and his brother Pedro were found tied up outside after their owner’s passing. Thanks to the amazing team at Texas Chihuahua Rescue, Inc, both dogs received the care they needed to start fresh.

Pedro quickly found his loving family, but Bruce, who was diagnosed with heartworm, struggled to find a home. To help him get a fresh start, Bruce was transferred to Texas Chihuahua Rescue, Canada Inc. and placed in a foster home. After just one week, his foster family fell in love and adopted him! Now, at 16 years old, Bruce is thriving and recently reunited with Pedro for a heartwarming visit in Canada.

Compassionate care makes all the difference. 🐾💙

When Kiko’s owner became too ill to care for him, Pets In Need of Greater Cincinnati, a PetSmart Charities grantee, stepped up to provide low-cost medical care for this blind and diabetic 7-year-old Husky. Soon after, Kiko met Josh, who was navigating his own heartbreak after a loss.

Now nicknamed Kiki, this special pup is thriving in his new home with Josh and his two senior dogs. Together with our amazing partners, we’re making a lasting impact on pets and people in communities. 🐶

When disaster strikes, families and their pets often face unimaginable challenges. During the 2023 Spokane County wildfires, American Red Cross Northwest Region volunteer Paige McKee stepped in as a pet liaison to help pets and their families find safety and comfort. 💙

Working with SpokAnimal C.A.R.E. and other local agencies, Paige coordinated food, supplies, and safe spaces for displaced pets, making an incredible difference in the lives of families who had lost so much. From walking dogs to delivering pet toys, Paige brought hope and stability to families in need.

We’re proud to work alongside organizations like the American Red Cross to support pets and their people during emergencies. 🐾

Work can wait—these pups needed an adventure! ⛰️ Our Marketing & Communications team took part in Tails Around Town, giving some adorable shelter pups from Maricopa County Animal Care & Control a well-deserved field trip! Our day kicked off with lunch at The Farm at South Mountain, followed by a scenic hike where these pups got to stretch their legs and soak up some sunshine. ☀️ Even just a few hours outside the shelter helps dogs relax, show off their true personalities, and boost their chances of finding a loving home. A huge thank you to Maricopa County Animal Care & Control for letting us be part of this special day!

For 18 years, Gary has called the Gulf of Cruises home—but when times got tough, he faced an impossible choice: feed himself or his beloved pets. His answer?
