We know that when families face food insecurity, so do their pets. 1 in 8 people may face food insecurity, so our collaborations with partners such as Feeding America allow us to equip local food distribution events with pet food to help feed all members of the community—including our beloved pets. 🐾 Access to Care
As many as 50 million US pets don’t receive necessary veterinary care. Difficulties in obtaining care for our pets can range from financial hardship to transportation/location difficulties, so our goal is to help outfit our partners with grants that can help them take care of the pets in their community. We met Lawrence and his dog, Princess, at our second annual Pet Hunger Awareness Day. Princess became part of Lawrence’s family five years ago after his neighbor abandoned her. But after losing his wife and living on a fixed income, Lawrence needed extra support to care for Princess.

Thanks to our partnership with Feeding America, food banks like St. Mary's Food Bank can receive pet food donated by PetSmart Charities, helping families like Lawrence’s. Lawrence was able to pick up food for himself and Princess, ensuring they get the nutrition they need!

We’re proud to partner with food banks across the country to help pets and their families through difficult times. 💙

When Dixie, a 7-year-old dog, was adopted by her family, they brought her to a C.A.R.E.4Paws wellness event to make sure she was healthy. 🩺

That’s when they discovered the mass on her belly wasn’t benign—it was a mammary carcinoma, an aggressive form of cancer. Thanks to the incredible care from the C.A.R.E.4Paws mobile clinic team, Dixie had her tumor removed and is now on her journey to recovery.

We’re proud to work with partners like C.A.R.E.4Paws to provide pets with the low-cost, accessible care they need to stay healthy and remain with their loving families. Together, we’re making a lasting impact for pets like Dixie. 💙

Meet Scraps. 🐾 He arrived at Austin Pets Alive!(APA) as a sick puppy fighting parvo. What could have been the end of his story was just the beginning.

Thanks to APA's dedicated care and a loving foster home, Scraps made a miraculous recovery. Soon enough, his foster family fell in love and couldn't let go. Now, Scraps is a cherished member of their family.

Our team joined the C.A.R.E.4Paws team during one of their local clinics and saw the incredible impact they’re making in Oceano. At the clinic, 125 cats and dogs received walk-in services like vaccinations, and 23 pets received essential medical care, including spays and neuters! 🩺

Access to affordable veterinary care is crucial for helping families provide the care their pets need. By making services more accessible, clinics like these empower families to keep their beloved pets by their sides.

Our partner, Ruthless Kindness, recently hosted a free veterinary clinic where they met a remarkable duo. ❤️

A devoted pet owner arrived seeking care for her pup, wearing a touching dog-themed shirt. It read: "my best friend", "comfort", "taught me the meaning of devotion", "told me a thousand times over that I am his reason for being."

This beautiful bond between pet and owner is why we're passionate about keeping families together. Through our access to care grants and programs, we ensure pets can stay with their loved ones.

Four years ago, Agnes faced living alone for the first time after losing her son. That's when she met Sadie, a Maltese-poodle mix who would become her constant companion. 🐾

Thanks to our Meals on Wheels America Loves Pets grant program, Senior Citizens Inc. provides Agnes and Sadie with essential monthly pet food and supplies. This vital support helps them stay together, especially as Agnes faces challenges with independent living. 'Sometimes she knows when I feel bad before I do,' Agnes shares.

How far can a little love go? Just ask Bruce! ❤️

In May 2024, a Furkids Midtown Atlanta volunteer stumbled upon Bruce, a tiny kitten with severely injured hind feet. They immediately helped him begin his path to recovery. 🐈‍

From day one, Bruce proved he was one special kitty. Even after going through so much, he still loved being cradled like a baby and gathering cuddles from staff. No wonder he became a shelter favorite!

But the best was yet to come. When a mom and her daughter walked into Furkids to meet Bruce, it was love at first purr! His gentle nature captured their hearts, and just like that, Bruce found his loving family.

Blue's journey is a testament to hope.❤️

When Blue arrived at Maricopa County Animal Care & Control (MCACC), vets discovered Blue was facing significant eye challenges. To ensure his comfort and well-being, they determined that removal would be the kindest path forward.

But Blue's story wasn't over. An Arizona Husky Rescue board member saw him online, felt an instant connection, and quickly gave Blue a loving new home.
