💔 Feline Friday: Colby’s Story 💔

Colby is only 4 ½ years old, but he has already been through more heartbreak than any cat should. Adopted twice and returned twice, his journey has been anything but easy. Originally part of a litter of seven, he found homes that promised forever—only to be let down. His second adopter broke their contract and declawed him, changing his world forever. Now, fear has replaced trust.

His most recent family described him as sweet, even carrying all 17 lbs of him in their arms without a crate. But now, surrendered once again, Colby is lost, confused, and terrified. He shies away from touch, unsure of the hands that once held him. The only small comfort? He’s eating in the evening—a glimmer of hope in his heartbreak.

Colby deserves stability. He deserves patience. He deserves a home that will never give up on him. Due to being declawed, he must be an indoor-only cat, where he can feel safe and protected. Can you be the one to show him love that lasts?

These dogs were brought into the shelter today, 1/28/25. If one of these is your pet, please contact us during our open hours (Tuesday-Saturday, 10 AM - 4 PM). Strays are held for 5 business days, and proof of ownership is required to reclaim your pet.

🚨 Reclaim Fee: $37 (unless proof of current rabies vaccination is provided at reclaim).

📍 Location: Pearl River County SPCA, 1700 Palestine Rd.

Our adorable kittens are ready to find their forever homes! For just $25, you can adopt one of these sweet babies. Here’s what your new bundle of joy comes with:
✨ Spayed/neutered
✨ Up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines
✨ Microchipped for safety
✨ A starter bag of kitten food to make their transition smoother

Important note: These kittens were previously treated for ringworm. Their last Wood’s lamp exam showed no lesions, just spores, and they’ve received a lime dip treatment to minimize the chance of reoccurrence. The risk of spreading is low, but we wanted to be fully transparent.

🌟 Cali’s Happy Tail! 🌟

Cali is officially our last foster fail of the week! While we still have a few more pups in foster care (and plenty of potential for more happy endings!), we couldn’t be more thrilled to celebrate the 10 dogs who have found their furever homes this week. 🎉🐾

This milestone is even more special knowing that over 70 dogs went into emergency foster care during the freezing weather. Your compassion, support, and willingness to step up during their time of need made all the difference. 💕

It truly takes a village, and ours is nothing short of amazing. Thank you to every foster, adopter, volunteer, and supporter who played a part in these lifesaving efforts. Let’s keep the momentum going—there are still plenty of wonderful dogs waiting for their chance at happily ever after. 🏡🐶
