What a weekend at K-9 STAC!

River❤️-

Wave #1- 21’ 1” & 18’
Wave #2- 18’ 9” & 19’ 5”
Wave #3- 20’ 2” & 19’ 3”

She placed 1st in the master division for wave #1 & #3. She placed 1st in the senior division for wave #2. She has a new PB of 21’ 1”!

Wave #5- 22’ 1” & 21’ 9”

She placed 2nd in master division for wave #4 & #5. She placed 3rd in the master division for wave #6. She also placed 3rd in finals in the master division. (Dont mind the wrong medal on her neck 🤦🏼‍♀️). She has a new PB of 22’ 1”!

As we prepare to celebrate, let’s ensure our pups stay safe during fireworks!

• Create a safe haven: Set up a quiet, comfy space with familiar bedding and toys.

• ID check: Ensure collar tags and microchip info are up-to-date.

• Stay home: The safest place for your dog is indoors with you.

• Distraction plan: Have long-lasting chews ready.

• Sound masking: Prepare calming music or white noise.

• Purchase calming tablets to help them relax.

The dogs and I traveled to Wood River, NE to run at Great Plains HRC test this past weekend!

River started out the weekend rough with not marking her first bird at all, I ended up having to handle her to the bird and I’m so impressed with her. She handled amazing, a huge thanks to the judge who told me to breathe and stop overthinking my dog’s ability. She had a good day with both land and water. She went 2/2 and came home with her SHR title!

Storm had an overall amazing weekend. He had an amazing water series on Saturday! Started land series worried me a little this afternoon when I seen it due to the tall coverage and him not being use to it yet but he completely impressed me with marking both birds amazing. The judges were very impressed with him and his age today!

I’m super proud of both these young dogs!

The dogs and I added a new sport to our list! We took a trip to try out FastCAT and I’m already planning for more trips! These dogs never fail to amaze me when trying new things out!

Here’s a good reminder with the very cold weather we have coming! Please be thoughtful of your animals, they can not survive in these extreme temperatures.

Cold Weather Tips:
• Shorten outdoor activities
• Use pet safe de-icing products
• Consider a sweater/coat for your dog
• Properly fitted booties can help protect your dogs paws
• Wash your dogs legs, paws, and belly to remove packed snow, ice, salt, and de-icing chemicals after outside activities

Meet Storm!

Storm is a 9 month old Golden Retriever! He truly is my whole world.

He came from Granite Rock Retrievers in Saint Cloud, MN. I have posted his pedigree in the comments section!

Stormy is currently involved in dock diving. He will also be involved in hunt test and field trials. Storm has achieved his Dock Novice title at 6 months old with his PB being 7’. He also has his TKN (AKC Novice Trick Dog) title.

Stormy is going to be such an all around dog. He has so much to accomplish yet but I have no doubt he won’t accomplish it all.

Meet River!

River is a 1 year old Labrador Retriever! She is my all around girl and go to dog!

River is involved in dock diving and hunt test. When she’s not competing she’s an upland guide dog!

She has achieved her Dock Senior title along with her PB being 19’. She currently has her SHR (Started Hunting Retriever) title and we are working towards her HRCH (Hunting Retriever Champion) title. She also has her TKN (AKC Novice Trick Dog) title.

River is truly an amazing all around girl. This girl has so much up her sleeve and I can’t wait to see what else we accomplish!

Meet Sitka!

Sitka is a 3 year old Australian Shepherd x Labrador Retriever mix! He is my first official dog! Sitka is the reason I fell in love with dog training. He went along with every little thing I challenged him with!

He is my trick loving boy; he currently has TKN (AKC Novice Trick Dog) and TKI (AKC Intermediate Trick Dog).

Sitka and I are currently working on him becoming a therapy dog! It’s a huge milestone in his training process but the drive this boy has I know he will get it accomplished!

He is truly the whole reason I got my passion for training!❤️
