Hopefully winter has finally 'left the building'?!
Starting the week with no mud, no ice, and no precipitation!
We have a visitor and a driver for the van today!
The dogs all love Sam!
Kingsley went bonkers when he climbed aboard and unexpectedly heard Sam's voice greet him!! Wish I had been video taping.
They are all happy campers today!
Back to camp! These last couple weeks of temps in the teens and below have cancelled quite a few days of camp.
Today we were baaack!

Red Rover Day Camp
12-3-2024
We worked 'til we could work no more!
After working Tuesday night until after sunset, our first day at the new playfield happened yesterday!
There are still a few details, both big and small, that need tweaking, but the perimeter is secured and a new driveway was created that surely will NOT be the slick mud run I had to deal with this spring!
A few of the gates are installed, while others are temporaries, awaiting the fabrication and installation of the final products.
It has taken a little longer than expected, but we are chipping away at 'the vision', step by step, inch by inch. (always something😉)
Let this next chapter begin!! Cheers!
Last week, Archie had his 5th Birthday!!
Archie is a happy go lucky boy, who LOVES human attention and playing with other dogs!!
He bursts out the door and up into the van without assistance. He hits the ground running when we arrive at camp and is on the go the whole time he is here.
Sometimes he even shows up at Tilli's house, on his unscheduled camp days (they live next door to each other) and tries to hop on board! And yes, sometimes he succeeds when I have room for him!!😆
We had a good time celebrating and trying to capture party hat shots!
*Playing catch up here!
Moving in January wasn't the most ideal time to do things, but we are happy that the whole transaction was finalized and we are finally, stinking thrilled to be here!!
March 6th was our first day of camp at our new location.
It was a wonderful sunny day and the dogs spent much of their time sniffing, checking out their new boundaries and practicing recalls.
The field in this video is the temporary spot for now. It isn't 'ideal' but it works (unless we get lots of moisture!)
The planned camp field (the field in front of the house) needs to be fenced yet. We had that all set up and installation was to begin as soon as the weather started to shape up....which it did...for a moment. That warm spell gave us all hope that things were looking good and our fence contractor called to say: Hey, since the weather isn't acting 'winter like', let's go ahead and get this job started!
The following week he called again to report that he had torn his Achilles tendon and would not be able to work for an undetermined amount of time.
Then.....lots of rain, some snow, mud, and just plain awfully messy conditions knocked us back some more.
Lots of things are going on behind the scenes to get us up and sniffing, running, recalling, playing and having good times again. Fingers crossed that spring might be here and that we can get camp back in action soon.
In the meantime, keep an eye out here for updates and enjoy the pictures and videos of the few days we were able to pull off some playtime!
**Note:
Please don't feel sad for Ellie. She missed her chance to come when called, and then tried piggybacking in on the rewards being handed out to the dogs who DID come when called. She is very smart in that way!😉. Ellie has a wonderful recall and she did received treats later on for successfully executing it....off camera😊)
