Empty Nests

With the path of Tropical Storm Debby coming closer to us, we know there is much to be concerned about. Fortunately, this time of year is not an active birthing season for baby wildlife, but two species, bunnies and morning doves may still have active nests. Therefore, with such a wind and rain event as TS Debby, they are extremely vulnerable.

Should you find a baby bunny or baby dove on the ground, they will most likely be wet and cold. You should immediately bring them inside.

They CANNOT hurt you so don't be afraid to pick them up.

Once inside, do your best to dry them off and keep them warm. Place them in a container with a soft towel underneath to act like a nest. Keep them in a quiet, dark container. This will keep their stress level to a minimum.

PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GIVE THEM FOOD OR WATER.

The slightest mistake from an inexperienced hand may cost them their life.

Normally, we ask that you give the parents a chance to relocate their baby, but in the case of a storm of this magnitude, it's best to step in immediately.

We have 3 eight week old kittens. Free to good home, has their first set of shots. Call for a appointment to see them as they are at one of our staff's homes. Orange and white is a female and the other two are male.

As of June 6th thru June 16th Dr. Scarpino and her family will be on vacation we will be open certain days with fill in doctors. And on the days we don’t have a doctor we will have tech day. Tech days are things our techs can do without requiring a doctor there. Example (Nails ,a**l glands certain allergy shots if the baby has had seen the doctor within the year. You also can pick up food or medication. Any questions please call the office.

FYI!

We will be closed for appointments on Saturday 5/25/24. It will be tech day only.

Also we will be completely closed on Memorial Day the 27 and reopen normal hours on Tuesday the 28th of May. May all our fur babies and their families have a wonderful time off.
