Patti Gail Reed is our trainer and a Level 3 ARIA. Multi discipline and breed Champion with perfection as her quest. Known locally as the trainer to Tampa and St Pete Mounted Patrols that seek quality and confidence. She is an International clinician and multi breed judge. Equine Experience is $55 an hour. We are home to the Amber Glen Outreach Program with a mission to provide therapeutic horseback riding for all ages of people afflicted with disabilities covering a broad spectrum of physical and mental challenges. Activities are designed to fit individual needs to enhance further improving the quality of life for all. We do offer lessons, farm time. Special Olympics, riding events and more. Good morning…. I apologize … I assumed people knew where the Patti Johnson Ag Farm was. The address is 6199 94th Ave N Pinellas Park Fl 33782

The grounds open at 9 we will ask the kids showing chickens and rabbits or helping to be there at 9:30.

Judging is from 10-12. Winning announcements at 1, then everyone is good to go home. I know many are new to showing animals and it is a bit different then say soccer. It is a whole lot of get there and stand around.

Dress is casual/nice (we won’t have AGF shirts until Dec).

There will be cards with information on each animal for display and the exhibitor to read.

They said there should be a BBQ food truck there, ice cream, and Kona, but not sure. I recommend bringing stuff.

The host said they will have face painting, games, crafts etc and vendors.

If you are bringing your own rabbit or chicken please text me so I can let them know.

Reminder next 4-H meeting is November the 18 and the chicken geoup will be doing their poster board presentations of the anatomy (can be inside or outside oof the bird). The other groups and parents will be then audience.

The following 4-H meetings for December will be Dec 2 and Dec 16 (no Saturdays) on Dec 2 will be rabbit presentations of anatomy (internal or external) and Dec 16 will be equine presentations of anatomy (internal or external).

Reminder if the child is under 8, they will be considered clover buds.

January meetings will be January 6 and 20th. I will post on here the topics and parts of the books due.

Last night's 4-H/club meetings were a resounding success, filled with enthusiasm and dedication.

The poultry group's innovative spirit shone through in their costumes, crosswords, and posters, all in preparation for the Harvest Days at Patti Johnson Farm on November 16, an event promoting community engagement and agricultural awareness.

Our rabbit group developed a deeper understanding of gentle handling techniques, prioritizing the animals' sense of security, with informative presentations on rabbit digestion planned for December.

The horse group honed their skills in stall management and comprehensive horse care, readying themselves for November's horse shows and the state fair.

We're proud to foster a love for agriculture and animal care, acknowledging the critical role small urban farms and local businesses play in sustaining America's heritage.

I was touched by a friend's message sharing their struggles after 26 years in business. The same issue keeps arising - people shopping online, leaving products unsold. Now, more than ever, let's rally behind local businesses. As large box stores close, if they can’t make it how is small supposed to. Remember, online shopping only drains community resources. I've heard several small businesses won't reopen or will close in January. Let's make a difference - dine locally, shop locally, and give them the chance to serve you, ensuring their survival.
