Update: Adopted!

Bo is a 1 year old Spaniel mix. He weighs 35 lbs. His family no longer wants him. He started as an inside dog but is now kept outside. He loves people. If you would like to make this fellow a part of your family please reply here for more information or text Dinah at (606) 499-4473

Friends of the Shelter is celebrating Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month by offering both dog and cat adoptions for $35 each for pets adopted from the Bell County Animal Shelter for the remainder of October! There are lots of beautiful kittens and cats at the Shelter right now so we want to give them a chance to have a loving home, too. The Bell County Animal Shelter wants to thank the community, LMU Vet Students, and Rescue Groups for making September 2024 a successful month at the Shelter. 121 cats and dogs came into the Shelter and 99 were either adopted or went out to no-kill Shelters. Because of this, the euthanasia rate for September was drastically reduced. Thanks everyone and thanks Shelter Staff for all your hard work!

We are sharing this for a sweet dog whose owner can no longer take care of her after having a stroke. This dog is not at the shelter right now.

“Hello friends and family,

We are still in need of some help. My mom had a stroke at the end of January. She has a sweet dog that she is no longer able to care for. She super super low maintenance, an outside dog, she has been fixed, she is really good and loving, she is a lab mix, and she is 10 years old. Her name is Lady. I spoke to my mom and she gets along well with other dogs. I know some people asked this. I was able to confirm it with her.

If you or know of someone that could rehome her we would be soooo grateful! We want her to go to a good home and don’t want to take her to the shelter. Below are a few new pictures of her and a couple videos. She really is such a sweet dog.”
