Dr. Wright will be out of the office with family from August 14th thru August 25th. Staff will be available to help with any questions or concerns during these days. Dr. Whitman will be in office some throughout, but doctor availability may be limited.

Dear valued WVC clients and family,
This year has been a busy one for most everyone and our clinic is no exception. With outside commitments, we have only had one doctor on staff a majority of days, leaving a very busy and over booked caseload. As a result, we are currently scheduling routine annual and wellness visits a month or more out at this time. In an effort to address urgent or emergent problems that may arise with your pet, our staff may offer you a “drop off” appointment. This type of appointment would have you leave your pet at the clinic and allows us to examine, perform any needed testing and imaging (x-rays/ultrasound) and provide treatment for your pet between existing appointments as our schedule allows. All pets receive the attention and care they need, but just in intervals as we get availability throughout the day. Each drop off case is triaged soon after admission, but lab work, x-rays, treatment plans and paperwork all take time, and the most in need patients are given priority. While not ideal, this method allows us to administer appropriate care for sick patients in a timely manner.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by our current scheduling difficulties. We strive to provide the best standard of care for you and your pets, while at the same time allowing ourselves and staff time with our families. Additionally, we are continuing to search for the “right” veterinarian to join and expand our practice.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding our drop off system, do not hesitate to reach out and we will be happy to help navigate through it.

ATTENTION: our hours will be different this week with the 4th of July holiday coming up. We will be open Monday July 1st- Wednesday July 3rd, 7:00am- 5:00 pm these days. Wednesday there will be no doctor in the office, so there will only be tech visits and medication pickups available this day. We will be CLOSED Thursday July 4th- Sunday July 7th. Whitman Veterinary Clinic is still looking for a full time,part time or extended relief veterinarian to join our team! We are a mixed animal practice (90% small/10% large) located in a small rural community in east central IL. The Clinic is currently staffed by 1 full time and 1 part time veterinarian. We also have 1 full time certified veterinary technician and 3 full time veterinary assistant/office help on staff. Primary duties will include scheduled appointments for both routine wellness and sick patients, soft tissue surgery, dentistry and basic radiology. The clinic is currently equipped with an in-house lab system, digital radiography, video otoscopy, current ultrasound, and therapeutic laser. Hours and compensation are negotiable.
