In the sleepy town of Pipersville, Pennsylvania 23 dogs arrived at The Dog House on an unseasonably warm day late October 2024. The next day each of them would find fame. Their parents had new t-shirts and water bottles. The words Instagram and Doggy Influencer were being whispered about their house. Their parents were smiling and bragging, almost giddy; yet none of them even remembered giving paw. This is their story and it’s just one of the unsolved mysteries that linger in the shadows of their generously filled food bowls waiting to be brought to light. Tonight, we delve into the perplexing cases where the answers remain elusive, and where the only hope for resolution lies in tomorrow’s results of Howloween’s First Costume Contest!

Not everyone meets their best friend the first day of school, but Echo did. Reina was one of the kids who took a second day to come out of her shell and we encouraged her to take her time. Now she’s one of our go to introduction dogs. Regular training of our team (The Dog House Diamond Dogs) allows us create a tailored first day experience for each individual guest.

A VERY belated Happy National Veterinary Technician Week! Meet the techs at The Dog House, Anna and Courtney!
Anna has been working with animals for six years. She has worked and owned horses, goats, sheep, dogs, pigs, rabbits. She also has worked with small animals and cows. She is currently a student at Penn Foster earning her associates degree in Veterinary Technology. This weekend she is traveling to the NFFA Convention and Expo where she will be awarded her American FFA Degree! This is the highest degree achievable in the National Future Farmers of American Organization! Go Anna!!!! 🏆👏
Anna’s favorite animal is the Chocolate Lab. Her favorite part of being a tech is spending time with the animals and taking care of them.

Courtney has been working in veterinary medicine for over 23 years. Starting out in small animal general practice her extensive training and career has included several fields such as wildlife rehabilitation, small and large animal sanctuary medicine, small animal referral and specialty care, emergency medicine, as well as practice management.
Courtney’s favorite animal is the English Badger. Her favorite part about being a tech is the endless opportunity to learn; as well as being a guardian and caregiver to those with no voice. It’s is a responsibility she holds to her heart with great pride.
We celebrate them and all of the support staff who contribute their unique talents to veterinary medicine every day.
Especially to the tech examining a blurry photograph in a text at 3 AM from a friend of a friend’s cousin whose ex-boyfriend’s dog just threw something up. We see you❤️‍🩹

Happy Birthday Bentley!!! He’s The Leader of Pack Cane and we love his spirit! He’s always just as eager to romp as he is to nap and we get it. He’s also our official Dog Town Crier. You don’t need to be fluent in beagle to recognize the “It’s 10:00am and Sunny G is ready to play yip” or the “it’s 4:00pm and Reina’s mom is here” howl. He and his siblings are a fixture at The Dog House and we still can’t get enough of them!!! Hope you had as much fun celebrating as we did today!!!!

Tory keeps us on our toes. Literally. During treatment sessions we’re often perched beside her as she leans toward the door. It’s not that she doesn’t love Dr Jenny and Dr Cody, it’s just she’s more mobile than she’s been in years and she has things to do! However, this is just her second acupuncture session and she felt relaxed enough to sit a spell. A lot of animals find themselves suddenly warm and relaxed by their second or even during their first acupuncture session. One of the ways acupuncture works is by stimulating a nerve in the body that then sends a signal to the brain to release pain relieving hormones including beta-Endorphins. These hormones can help suppress pain and increase your overall mood, happiness, and pleasure. So it makes sense that during acupuncture (and her most recent laser treatment) Tory didn’t quite have the “hard out” she did when she first started coming for treatments. Everyone on The Dog House team also gets a nice dopamine boost when Tory’s around; just seeing the progress she’s made in the last few months is the best reward of all!
