✨Poinsettias are often associated with Christmas, but they contain a milky sap that can cause irritation to your pet's mouth, stomach, and skin.
✨Holly berries contain saponins and the leaves can cause upset stomachs if eaten by pets.
✨Mistletoe contains viscotoxin, a compound that can cause serious toxicity in pets.
✨While Christmas cactus is considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, it can still cause gastrointestinal upset if eaten in large quantities, especially the flowers.

Thanksgiving is a time for delicious food, but when it comes to our pets, it's important to know what they can and cannot eat. Some of the holiday treats we enjoy can be harmful to them. Here’s a helpful guide to the do's and don'ts for pets during Thanksgiving

Tips for a Pet-Friendly Thanksgiving:

Portion control: Even safe foods should be given in moderation. Too much of a good thing can lead to stomach upset.

Keep them away from the table: Try to avoid the temptation of feeding your pet directly from your plate. It’s better for their health and helps to avoid begging at the table!

Watch for leftovers: Be mindful of what your pet has access to once the meal is over. Many Thanksgiving foods can be harmful even in small quantities.

Enjoy your holiday feast, and remember to keep your furry friends safe and happy by sticking to the foods that are good for them!
