During the holiday season, it's common to bring in plants for decoration, but some of these can be toxic to pets. Here are the top 5 toxic plants to watch out for around the holidays:

✨Poinsettias are often associated with Christmas, but they contain a milky sap that can cause irritation to your pet's mouth, stomach, and skin.
✨Holly berries contain saponins and the leaves can cause upset stomachs if eaten by pets.
✨Mistletoe contains viscotoxin, a compound that can cause serious toxicity in pets.
✨While Christmas cactus is considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, it can still cause gastrointestinal upset if eaten in large quantities, especially the flowers.
✨The bulbs and flowers of the amaryllis plant contain lycorine, an alkaloid that is toxic to pets.
