Sorry to send a late message. The Washington Township trustees are planning to meet tomorrow night (Thursday January 11th, 2024) at 7p.m. and it appears they intend to cut fire and EMS services in the township without giving the voters a chance to consider the options. If you want to have that chance to have a voice please consider attending the meeting to convince the trustees to place the issue on the ballot.

A lot of dogs are chewing their feet right now due to pollen etc in the grass. A simple way to treat this is simply wash their feet off when they come inside. You do not need to buy any special products. Just simple soapy water on a paper towel or use a wash cloth.

Recommend doing it every time they come in from out side.

The Ten Commandments of Dog Ownership

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you will be very hard and painful for me. Remember that before you adopt me.
2. Give me time to understand what you want from me. Please be patient with me.
3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well being.
4. Do not be angry with me for long, and do not lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends and your entertainment. I only have you!
5. Talk to me, even if I do not understand your words, I understand your voice when it is speaking to me. You only have to look at my tail!
6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it!
7. Before you hit me, remember that I have teeth that could crush the bones in your hand, but I choose not to bite you. (DON'T HIT YOUR DOG!)
8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I am in pain or sick, or my heart might be getting weak and I cannot tell you.
9. Take care of me when I get old, you too will grow old someday.
10. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say, “I can’t bear to watch it” or, “let it happen in my absence.” Everything is easier for me if you are there.

The Miami County Engineer’s Office will close Ziegler Road between State Route 66 and Crestview Court through 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5.
The road will be closed 24 hours each day as the bridge undergoes replacement.

It is a very busy time of year and on top of that I finally caught up folks from the week prior being off with the nasty stomach flu. (No I am not sick now, I had it two weeks ago, dang garage sailing on my day off! Got the norovirus for free. If you get it stay hydrated!)
