Hi there! I am Marlee Christensen, Owner or Loess Hills Equestrian. LHE is located in the beautiful Loess Hills of Pisgah, Iowa on my husband's family land.

When you come out for a visit, you will likely see the Christensen's family cattle roaming the countryside, along with my amazing family members working the fields surrounding the facility. Although my facility is brand new (built in April of 2021), I have been providing private lessons for about three years. I have two horses that are used in my lesson program and they are absolute sweethearts. E

ach lesson will be 45 minutes in length and will consist of learning how to properly tack up your horse, how to ride, safety measures, horse behavior, and horse health/wellness. Horse training is also offered at LHE. I would also like to add some credit to certain people since my dreams would not have come true without them: Throughout the years, I have been trained by Professional Barrel Racer Jesse Hodges (Hodges Horsemanship), Professional Hunter/Jumper Caitlin Bazis (Olive Branch Equestrian), and have taken clinics with Morgan Snyder (Snyder Performance Horses). Two of the horses on my property (Savvy and Scotch) were bred by the WONDERFUL, Deb Campbell. Each of these amazing professional are located around the Omaha area and come highly recommended! BARBIE 3yr old 14hh Missouri foxtrotter up for consideration.

Will flat walk, foxtrot, pace, and lope. Never bucked, reared, or kicked. Will stand tied with wonderful ground manners. Extremely gentle soul. Has been used for lessons with advanced beginners with no problems. She is barefoot and 100% sound. Never taken a lame step, no medical conditions, no scars/blemishes. She is petite and would best suit a confident kid/teen or small adult. Great in a herd and bottom of the pecking order.

2023 is officially in the books, and I have to thank everyone so so much for keeping this small business running. This has been my dream ever since I was a kid and all of my wonderful clients and lesson kids made it possible. This year, LHE trained eight horses, sold one, added one lesson horse to the team, hired three employees, coached one crowned rodeo queen, hosted 2 clinics, had two summer camps,and gained well over 20 lesson students. Every single lesson student makes my heart glow and I cannot wait to see what 2024 brings to us all!

Add mule wrangling to the list of services😅 someone needed help finding their adventurous mule that escaped. This man’s country side was beautiful, so it was a privilege. Savvy, however, believes all mules are the devil, so that was a fun plot twist. Thanks Kymber Johnsen for doing the heavy lifting!

Everyone, say hello to Rosé, the new lesson pony! She’s a 9yr old spotted saddle horse crossed with a welsh pony! Due to her small stature, she will have a max weight limit of 130lbs! Who wants to give her a go this Sunday on little kid lesson day?!

This clinic was a breath of fresh air for us…It was fun, laid back, and extremely informative. Dragonfire Dancing Horses gave me more goals for my business and I can’t thank them enough. Kodee Johnsen, Kymber Johnsen, Lainey Cox, Cate Brunow, Kinsley Johnston, and Katy Heim impressed me beyond belief. I only get more and more proud of them! Kodee Johnsen and Kymber Johnsen was the halfttime performance in a RODEO!! How many people can say they’ve done that?!?! They did SO GOOD!!!

With all the craziness of parades, rodeos, and shows this week, I decided to take a break and spend some time with my wonderful girl. She continuously reminds me why she is my heart horse 😍

Day 1 shenanigans…learning how to steer! 🤣these kids are so much fun!

It was an absolute pleasure starting this stud for Loess Hills Appaloosas. Kodee, kymber, and cate deserve a lot of the credit for making him safe for anyone to ride. I’ll miss him when he goes back home!

I’m so happy for these two..Ivy is Kymber Johnsens new ride. She’s a 9 yr old OTTB out of Seattle Slew, a famous racehorse. Can’t wait to see them compete together!

When it’s too cold to ride, that just gives you the opportunity to work on the little things. Oney learned to side pass in one session! I love training this horse 😍

If you only work your horse in the arena, you only get an arena safe horse! Instead, work your horse in a cow pen..while your camera man hangs off a cliff..and throws clods of dirt down..🤦‍♀️
