They are five weeks old and they’re doing great we’re feeding them 12 hours on 12 hours off with a broiler grower food that is 18% protein and they’re doing amazing on it it’s non-GMO and we’re calling these pasture raised beyond organic, fresh, natural poultry, no antibiotics, no hormones Only non-GMO food and pasture raised and they’re doing great. @recklesslovefarm Pasture raised Chickies arrived at the post office two weeks ago! It’s been so fast and wonderful raising these pretty birds on our farm. Our homeschoolers have loved learning about them and keeping them clean and healthy.
Pasture raised poultry is raised outdoors on pasture for the majority of their lives. The birds are given access to fresh grass, insects, and other natural foods, as well as a supplemental feed to ensure they are getting all the nutrients they need. Pasture raised poultry is often raised without the use of antibiotics or hormones.
There are many benefits to pasture raised poultry. For the birds, it allows them to express their natural behaviors, such as foraging, scratching, and bathing in the dust. It also helps to keep them healthy and strong. For consumers, pasture raised poultry is often more nutritious and flavorful than conventionally raised poultry. It is also a more sustainable way to raise meat, as it requires less land and resources.

Welcome to our small farm in NC! We pasture raise Katahdin sheep and lambs and they are 100% grass fed. This is our rotation schedule:
Katahdin sheep are hardy and can tolerate some grazing pressure, but you don’t want to overgraze your pastures. A good rule of thumb is to rotate paddocks every 2-3 days. This will give the grass time to recover and regrow before the sheep return. We use Premier 1 fencing and solar energizers to keep the sheep where we want them to graze. We give them plenty of fresh water, sunshine shelter, Love, and especially physical education like this. Thanks for watching!
