This summer, trade your beach towel for belly rubs and your sunscreen for Schnauzer kisses—MacArthur "Mac" ASTRONAUT is ready to launch into his forever home! 🚀💛

At 14 years young and 12 lbs, Mac may be a senior by the numbers, but don’t let that fool you—he’s got the heart and energy of a much younger man. Show him a leash, and he lights up like it’s the Fourth of July. Toss him a peanut butter Kong? Instant fireworks of joy. Invite him on the couch or into your lap? He’s already there.

Mac is:
🐶 Fully vaccinated, microchipped, and parasite-free
🛋️ A certified cuddle bug and recliner thief
🚶 A walk-lover who needs a secure yard (he will find the one loose board!)
🐕 Friendly with other dogs and well-mannered in the home
🍽️ Food motivated—but only if you’re close by (no solo dining for this guy!)

Mac came to us after his beloved human passed away, and it’s clear he was their constant companion. He settles in quickly, lives to love, and thrives in homes where someone is around most of the time—or better yet, can take him along on their summer adventures.

Help is needed now more than ever!! The rescue world has turned upside down and we can’t keep up with the needs. Foster homes are scarce and animals are dying every single day. This breaks our hearts when we tell a shelter we have NO open foster homes. 😢

Today is another fantastic day to post adoptions. Jack Be Little SQUASH (aka Jett) has been adopted after over 200 DAYS in foster care. YES over 200 days looking for his very own family. And what a beautiful family he found!!

🌈🐾 State of the Rescue: We’re Bringing the Pride (and the Paws)! 🐾🌈

This week, Umbrella of Hope is heading to Vacaville’s Pride in the Park — and we’re bringing the rainbow love with us! 🎉🐶🐱

📍 Where: Andrews Park, Vacaville
📅 When: Sunday, 12–3 PM

We’ll have a booth filled with pride + pet-themed goodies for sale — all proceeds go directly to helping us rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need. 🛍️💖

We LOVE our partner CUDDLY … They have the most amazing fundraising platform for rescue animals. Our most recent fundraiser was for Bamboo PLANT. He came into our program in horrible condition. His teeth are the worst we have seen. We need to raise $3000 to cover the cost of his dental suspecting a full mouth extraction. Bamboo will have his dental next week thanks to the wonderful donors at Cuddly.

Meet Radish – A Sweet Soul with a Wobbly Walk and a Heart Full of Love 🍂🐾

Radish is a 3-year-old neutered male Domestic Shorthair with a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), sometimes affectionately called “wobbly cat syndrome.” His case is on the severe side, so Radish stumbles and falls often—but he doesn’t let that stop him from loving life in his own gentle way.

Despite his unsteady steps, Radish uses his litter box reliably and prefers the simple comforts of a calm environment. He’s not on any medication and doesn’t require specialized care—just a little awareness and a lot of love.

Radish is a creature of habit and peace. He’s happiest lounging in front of the sliding glass door, watching the world go by. While he tends to stick to one room during the day, we’ve caught signs that he explores a little at night—proving he has a quiet curiosity, even if he’s not one to roam much.

He lives for head scratches and attention from his humans and will meow to greet you with a soft, raspy voice that melts hearts. He prefers wet food (and insists on a plate instead of a bowl—his unique dining style leads to some hilarious tipping adventures). His long fur is as soft as his temperament and benefits from daily brushing to keep shedding in check.

Because of his frequent tumbles, Radish would do best in a home without small children, where he can feel safe and relaxed. He would be a perfect fit for someone looking for a companion to share quiet moments, warm laps, and cozy window views.

Radish doesn’t need a perfect home—just one with patience, gentleness, and a deep appreciation for the beautifully imperfect.

Happy Sunday and what a celebration it is!! After over 120 days in rescue GAMBINO GANGSTER has been adopted. His new name is BEAN!!

It was love at the first meeting all the way around. He joins two four legged siblings and if you check the comments, you see he happy they are running around the backyard. What a joyous celebration!!

🦷 State of the Rescue: Don’t Forget the Teeth! 🐾

Let’s talk about something often overlooked but incredibly important: your pet’s dental health.

At Umbrella of Hope, we’ve seen firsthand the pain and suffering caused by neglected teeth. Take Bamboo, a sweet senior poodle we recently welcomed. He came to us with severe dental disease—his tiny mouth full of infection and pain. Eating was hard. Smiling was harder. But thanks to the incredible support of our community, Bamboo is now on the road to recovery and will get to enjoy his golden years in comfort. 🐶💙

Sadly, Bamboo isn’t alone.

Dental disease is one of the most common health issues in pets—and one of the most preventable.
Here are some simple tips to help protect your pet’s pearly whites:
🪥 Brush their teeth regularly with pet-safe toothpaste
🦴 Offer dental chews or toys that help reduce tartar
👩‍⚕️ Schedule annual dental exams with your vet
💧 Add vet-approved water additives to help fight plaque

Today we are featuring Enzo DIVA “Xocoatl”(Chocolate in Nahuatl). Enzo was adopted in 2023 to a wonderful family.

Here’s what they said about him; He just recently celebrated his 2 year “gotcha day” with our family on May 21st. He’s a very gentle, playful, protective and patient dog. He loves on his sisters Valentina (8) and Adelita (5) every chance he can get. We are in love with our Enzo!

Thank you for the update and tell Enzo to “stay home”. (Enzo likes to play hide and seek)!!

🎓🐾 Class of 2025: Adam Maitland Beetlejuice, Graduate of Joy and Resilience! 🐾🎓

This month, we’re proud to celebrate one of the most inspiring grads we know—Adam Maitland Beetlejuice, a 12-lb, 4-year-old terrier mix with the softest white fur and the brightest spirit you’ll ever meet.

Adam survived something no dog should have to—he was hit by a car. While he came away with his life and his joy intact, the accident left him with some minor f***l incontinence. But like the true honor student he is, he’s handled it like a champ—with an occasional doggy diaper and regular outdoor breaks, it’s no big deal.

He’s officially graduated from: ✔️ Shy Pup 101 (with honors in Heart-Melting Smiles)
✔️ Canine Resilience and Recovery
✔️ Mastering Walkies with Maximum Enthusiasm
