Our is Cinderblox. There is no adoption fee for Pet of the Week to approved homes.

Cinderblox is a sweet 10 year old who adores cuddles and belly rubs. She is 17lbs, having gone through a diet to shed some extra pounds. Her food is prescription urinary care and would need a portable water fountain, both of which would be provided along with Cinderblox upon adoption.

To inquire about adopting Cinderblox, please send an email to [email protected].

🌟 Weekly Worf Update! 🌟

Today was a milestone for our brave little warrior—Worf was neutered! He handled it like a true champ and is still bursting with his signature puppy energy and endless love. 💕

Worf’s transformation has been nothing short of miraculous. The scars on his face, once so prominent, are now almost entirely hidden by the soft fur that has grown back. His journey from a severely injured pup to the happy, playful dog he is today inspires us daily.

This progress wouldn’t be possible without you, our incredible supporters near and far. Your donations, kind words, and belief in Worf’s bright future have fueled his recovery. Thank you for helping us give him the second chance he so deeply deserves.

Stay tuned as Worf continues to thrive—his story is far from over! 💖

Our is Maybelline. There is no adoption fee for Pet of the Week to approved homes.

Maybelline is a German shepherd mix and approximately a year old. She weighs 27lbs and had a rough start in an abusive situation. Despite this, Maybelline is strong, resilient, and as happy as can be. She absolutely loves people.

Maybelline is blind and has brain injuries so has some challenges getting around. She tends to wobble when she walks due to her spinal injury. Boots on her back feet help with avoiding losing her footing.

Maybelline is great with cats and very friendly with other dogs. Smaller breeds may need to be protected simply because she can trample them in her chaotic walking (and she can't see where she's going). She loves to chew on toys and bones and loves play time.

Maybelline has had difficulties with potty training due to her cognitive and physical challenges. Diapers have helped in the meantime. Maybelline loves food and has a great diet. She doesn't go on typical walks but loves to go to the park where she can sniff and explore at her own pace.

To inquire about adopting Maybelline, please send an email to [email protected]. To make a tax-deductible donation towards her care, please visit www.paypal.me/UOH or Venmo -hoperescue

11/10/2024

CoCoPuff is a 3-4 year old spayed female Siamese street cat who showed up at our founder's medical office as a feral cat about 2 years ago and was trapped-spayed-released. She decided to stay there and lived in the bushes surrounding the parking lot. The entire office "adopted" her and provided her with a name, outdoor shelter, regular food, flea medication, fresh water and food. And yes, she does know her name and meows to it but it probably can be changed anyway😊

Over the last 6-8 months, CoCoPuff has decided that she likes the good life and actually likes humans. She is venturing into the building (and is allowed to hang out in one of the offices). She likes being petted, demands attention from her favorite people and even stands up and taps them on the lap and "yells" at them if she is not getting her demands met.‼️

Because of this, we have decided to try to find CoCoPuff a home of her very own. Her ideal home would be a quiet and safe environment where she could have access to an enclosed porch or catio because she does enjoy the outside but would need to do this safely. She takes some time to warm up to new people and so she would need someone who is gentle, patient and loving with her and would give her the time to do this. Once she loves you though, she is obsessed.

Our founder (her current servant says this)

CoCoPuff adopted the provider who had my office before me and a condition of employment was that I accept that she was allowed to come in and sit on her throne (cat bed) on the days that I am in the office. My entire office provides her with food, catnip, toys, fresh water, wet and dry food and shelter. Apparently in the last 6-8 months, she has allowed people to start petting her and has ventured inside the building to sit inside the room that became my private office. When I was hired, I became her servant. She demands attention now and wants to be petted and loved and talked to. She is very vocal to the point where my Telehealth patients hear her on calls and laugh. I have a dog at home who is NOT cat-friendly and cannot adopt her myself and we have not been successful with our patients and staff in finding her an appropriate home, so we are posting her through the rescue.🤞

The office has decided that we would like to find her a REAL home before it gets cold and rainy even though she does have a fabulous outdoor shelter and inside access. She recently has been getting beaten up by some new cats that have moved into the neighborhood (hence the scarring on her nose that is resolving) so she is spending more time inside the building but is very unhappy about not having some outside access.

She is using the litterbox inside and adores the water fountain. She thinks wet food is the best invention on the planet. 🚀☄️

She has been getting beaten up by new cats who have moved into the neighborhood (hence the scarring on her face which is resolving) and so she is currently afraid of them BUT in the past co-existed just fine with other street cats. We think she would do okay with another cat or two in these situations
1. Your cat/s are calm, quiet and would mostly ignore her at first and she has a place to retreat to if she is scared initially
2. You can separate her from your other cats until she acclimates no matter how long that takes

As far as dogs, we feel that the only situation where she may be able to tolerate a dog is if you have a very calm, very quiet, very cat-savvy dog who will not bother her at all and if they develop a relationship at all, it will be on CoCoPuff's terms OR you have a complete separation of your household that never mixes

So we know it is a big ask to find a quiet, patient home who ideally has a screened in porch, sunroom or catio who will give CoCoPuff a gentle place to live and be patient with her for a few weeks or months until she decides that you too are her servant

CoCoPuff is spayed, FIV/FeLv negative and parasite free, Before she goes to a new home she will have her shots updated and be microchipped. She was a street cat who was TNR'd so her ear is tipped and it is obvious -- if this aesthetic bothers you, then CoCoPuff is not the cat for you. And before you come for us, our veterinarian did not do the surgery -- it was an unknown TNR group outside of our area.

CoCoPuff is currently located in Yuba City, CA (40 miles North of Sacramento) HOWEVER we can get her to multiple other areas so please do not let this limit your decision. Due to her gentle nature, we do not think long transports are reasonable but we will entertain requests if the perfect home is out there. We can easily get her to Sacramento, SF Bay Area, Santa Rosa Areas and can discuss other areas for amazing people who can give her the right home.

If you are interested in helping this sweet girl who deserves the best, please send us an email to [email protected]

Meet the ooooober handsome Geordi La Forge!

This special guy is around 11 lbs and we are guessing approximately 14 years old. This is what his foster mom says about him -

"Geordi Geordi Geordi... what can I say about this beautiful little bundle of joy!? It took some time for this little Angel to come out of his shell, s He is a black and white, neutered male Pomeranian. The shelter said he is about 4 years old, the vet stated more like 14...but he has all of his teeth, and they don't look bad either! So I'm guessing he is much younger than that, but I'm not an expert, so who really knows!? He came from a hoarding situation, but we dont know much about his upbringing. His poor little rear end had so much hair loss, but its slowly growing back. His face is a little crooked and we don't know if it was an old injury, or birth defect. He yawns smaller than normal because his mouth is a little crooked, but I think it makes him that much more beautiful 😍.

I Love this little dog! He is sweet, gentle, loving, and potty trained to potty pads. He even uses a doggy door to go outside! He gives his foster mama kisses, although it took about 3 weeks for him to really come out of his shell, but he is out now and fully loving life! He greets me at the door and wags his little tail when I come home, even bounces and spins sometimes too! He is really is a happy little guy. He is very quiet, and does sleep quite a bit, but if you aren't hanging out with him on the couch, he WILL come find you even if you are in dispose (🚽)! He does really well on small flights of stairs, its about 5 to get outside my home. He has a pretty good appetite and loves his Freeze Dried Raw Stella and Chewys Pet food, but kinda snubs the Nulo kibble 🤪.

He gets along well with other dogs big and small...he doesnt play much, but is the best couch potato Netflix snuggler you can find! Hands down, he will LOVE those weekend binge fests! Oh and the belly rubs 😳, he absolutely LOVES his belly rubs💜🐾! I'll get him up from a nap and say let's go potty Geordi! And he will just roll over and give me his belly. He makes my heart melt 💗.

He would probably do best in a home with older more chill kids as he does have a bit of a sight and hearing impairment and can get nippy if he is approached too fast or aggressively. He also doesn't like going to the vet because it scares him, so he can be nippy there too. But once he knows you, and knows you won't hurt him, he will be your best friend furrever! "

Are you that special someone he has been looking for!?

If you are interested in any further information on this beautiful little bundle of joy, please email at:
[email protected]

Geordi is ready and waiting to meet you! 🐾🐾

🐾 Meet Wesley Crusher! 🐾

Age: 13 years
Weight: 13 lbs
Breed: Chihuahua Mix

I'm a sweet, senior guy looking for a cozy home where I can relax and enjoy my golden years. I may be missing a few teeth (okay, maybe a lot), but that doesn't stop me from enjoying dry food and treats! I know how to sit for my snacks, and I'm working on perfecting my bathroom habits and manners. 🐶💕

New things can make me a little anxious, so I need slow and calm introductions, but once I'm comfortable, I'm all yours! I love snuggling up in bed and may even get closer as I get to know you better. While I’m quiet most of the time, I’ve just started barking when a new person arrives—just a little shout out to say “hello!”

I get along well with other dogs and did great with two fur-friends my first week in rescue. I like to make my mark in the yard, but I don’t stay outside for long. And even though I may slip out of a collar, I’m best in a harness for walks or adventures.

I haven’t met cats or children yet, but I’m open to testing it out! 🐾

If you think I’d be a good fit for your home, fill out an application at:
www.beourpet.org/adoptions.php

Let’s make this old soul’s final chapter the best one yet. ❤️

🗞️ It's National Adopt a Senior Pet Month at Umbrella of Hope! 🗞️

This week's State of the Rescue is all about celebrating our amazing senior pets! We know sometimes playful puppies and energetic kittens steal the spotlight, but senior pets have so much love and companionship to offer.

Here are some reasons to consider adopting a senior pet:
🌟 Low-maintenance: Senior pets are generally past their high-energy puppy or kitten stage, making them a great fit for calmer households.
🌟 Trainable and well-behaved: Many senior pets have already learned basic commands and potty training.
🌟 Loyal and loving companions: Senior pets often shower their humans with affection and appreciation for a loving home.

To celebrate National Adopt a Senior Pet Month, all adoption fees for senior pets are waived throughout November!

We have several amazing seniors like Frosty Weather and Wesley StarTrek (pictured here). Head over to our Petfinder page to find out more about them and the rest of our senior crew at https://www.petfinder.com/member/us/ca/pittsburg/umbrella-of-hope-ca1825/ 🐩 🐈‍⬛

Open your heart and home to a deserving senior pet today! They'll reward you with years of unconditional love.
