My dear Sherlock has left me and is waiting for me on the Rainbow Bridge. He was a great companion for 17 years and 9 months. I thank God he gave me this amount of time to spend together. It was a gift I will cherish. He passed away in his sleep on October 14, 2023.

Sorry, I haven't been posting. My big guy, Sherlock, is ill. Old age and back legs are not what they used to be. He turned 17 on June 3 and for a German Shepherd/Leonberger, this is old. Each day I get to spend with him is a gift.

I had to stop and pay attention to my dogs because they got grumpy and fought over a toy. I stopped what I was doing and gave them my total focus. 1. Keep all candy away from dogs. Even a well-trained dog can't resist temptation when left within reach.
2. Play calm music if your dogs bark when trick-or-treaters ring the bell.
3. Keep your pets (dogs and cats) away from the front door when you pass out treats. There will be less chance of escape and/or your dog scaring the children or the costumed children scaring the dog. #
