You know that saying “people are brought into your lives for a reason?”Well, I feel that about all the pets that are brought into my life…are for a reason. ♥️I say this for ALL my clients, they all hold a special place in my heart, especially the ones that I of course see more often. The connections that I make with your fur babies are some of the most beautiful and amazing parts that I hold to my heart ♥️
I will admit, there are those that truly hold my heart and affect me in different ways .
So This morning, I got a text from Karla , we have been back-and-forth for several days in regards to Groot having pneumonia, I, along with this wonderful family have been praying for days that he would get better. And I was looking forward to going over to visit with them this weekend….And just when he does, he takes a turn for the worse.
When I told Karla that I was awoken at 3:09 this morning out of a dead sleep, she told me that was when Groot had passed. THERE is THAT connection.
Groot held a piece of my heart that was undeniably one that you would say was my soul pup. From the very first day that I meet him and his family, I knew, I felt a deep connection with him. The way he looked at you, you knew he was telling you something with his heart.
It has been an honor to be his pet sitter, but most importantly part of the family.
Please help me in saying a prayer for this precious family as they navigate yet another tremendous loss. Artic in September and Tiger in July. Thank you for choosing me to be a part of your family.
RIP Groot, Auntie Tawni loves you so very much and will miss you forever!

Meet Mya!! This beautiful girl is a ten week old Catahoula mix. Mya is a big girl with a bigger personality. If the size of paws dictates her size, she will definitely be big when fully grown. Mya will need someone who will take her to obedience classes where she will learn how to be a good girl once she grows into those big paws. Ohhh my Dapper Dan!🤍🧡🤍

Meet Dapper Dan. This handsome gentleman is a one year old Pekingese/Papillon mix. He’s a small guy around ten pounds who was brought into the shelter by an older man who caught him in his make-shift raccoon trap. Dapper Dan is the life of the party and makes friends with everyone quickly. This guy is happy and playful and loves toys. Dog and kitty friendly make him a great addition to almost every home. Beautiful Sushi! 🖤🤎

Today marks 1 year since Sushi was surrendered to us at no fault of her own.

She was originally adopted from a rescue in California in 2015 and she moved to the Pittsburgh area with her mom a few years later. Her mom got a new boyfriend and we were told Sushi was afraid of him and would hide, so they thought the best option for her would be to find a new home.

Unfortunately, a year later that home has yet to come and she has struggled to REALLY thrive at our rescue. She has become a bit more reclusive, can be a little sassy, has had bouts of stress, and has gained weight. As much as we try, a real home is usually so much better, even if the cat keeps to themselves and doesn’t love everyone in the household. We have found that Sushi is just a timid cat and she needs a patient home that will allow her to hide if she wants to and interact when she feels like it! She loves to play with teaser wands and enjoys nice scritches in her chin!

She would do best in a home without dogs or small children. She does fine with other calm, older cats, but she really would prefer to be the only pet!

This beautiful girl shouldn’t wait any longer to find a home to live out her golden years! 🩷

So that saying… “My goal is to love my rescue dog so much that he never remembers the stupid humans that didn’t want him”….. My commitment to Max, as with EVERYONE who brings a pup home, SHOULD be, to love them for the REST of their lives……soooooo this little old man is loved more than he could have ever dreamed about!
