This! Little one! She has a unilateral hearing loss, cute and amazing. Her parents and breeder are also amazing. I wish I could be her new mom. She will no doubt have a wonderful and fulfilling life!

This is Lucy. She is a 2.5 yo pure breed Labrador.
She failed her BAER test bilaterally. This breed does not require OFA BAER testing. We do not know why she is deaf. There are many reasons, but generally this breed does not have issues with their hearing.
We are curious about other potential causes of hearing loss such as antibiotics that are known to be ototoxic.

I had a wonderful experience at the OFA Health Clinic at the Canfield Fairgrounds this past weekend! It was my first time at this event and it was a pleasure to be a part of it.
I tested several different breeds including Bull Terrier, Yakutuan Laika, American Hairless Terrier, Papillon and a Cattle dog.
Too busy to get pictures of all of them!

What is AKC Rally?

Think of an AKC Rally event as any team sport: You and your dog navigate a course, side-by-side, as you steer him through a course of 10-20 different signs. Each of these signs provides instructions regarding the next skill that is to be performed. The dog and handler move continuously throughout the course with the dog under control at the handler’s left side. There is a clear sense of teamwork between the dog and handler both during and between the numbered signs. Although each performance is timed, having a good race time is not the goal; it’s all about working as a team while performing the skills, with the dog under control.
