How is Gray Girl, you ask?

She healed wonderfully from her abscessed tooth, but yesterday’s re-check revealed that her two remaining canines were diseased, and needed to come out.

This leaves our feral Gray Girl toothless. 🥺

This may sound terrible to some, but often times, a full mouth extraction is exactly what these cats need to live a happy life.

We are happy we are able to provide that for her - with your help, of course!

She is recovering now, and on lots of pain meds.

If you’re feeling generous today, and would like to throw us a few dollars, we would gladly accept!

Although it may seem as if she’s the only kitty in our care right now, that is far from the truth.

Why the heck is this guy still with the rescue, and not curled up on the couch of his furever home??

Navy is an easy dude! He gets along great with his foster siblings, and his belly up position is NOT a trap!

He loves belly rubs, snuggles and the top bunk on the cat tree!

His greatest downfall is his tendency to make his water bowl a water park, so we strongly encourage a fountain so that he doesn’t feel the need to make waves himself!

Come on, don’t be crazy. Adopt Navy!

We really don’t put enough good news on our feed.

So here’s Catcalls Alumnus, Hugo, with his bunny brother, Pingu.

Hope this warms you up on this cold Thursday. ❄️🥶🤬

After a long day at the vet, our old gal “Gray Girl” has returned to us with a LOT less pus in her face.

To quote the vet’s records:

Opened mouth and (tooth) #408 fell out, and pus poured from the socket. Gentle pressure on the right cheek shot pus from under the right side of the chin. Expressed all pus and flushed abscess pocket with
sterile water until clear. Left openings in mouth and chin to allow drainage. Has
#104 and #404 - only remaining teeth (right canines).

🤮😭

This sweet old lady has surely seen better days, but the good news is - IT’S NOT A TOOMAH! (Please tell us you get that reference!?🙏🏻)

The bad news is - she tested positive for FELV.

We will go over what this means with her feeder (who will now be keeping her indoors), and we will be there for her if she runs into future issues.

Thank you to those who have donated to this little survivor. If you haven’t yet, there’s still time. 🙃

Not the clearest pictures, but one of our local ferals has developed a very large lump on the side of her neck. 😞

We were informed that she has been vomiting for the last few days, as well.

None of this is looking too good, so we plan to trap her ASAP. (Trap is currently set.)

She will then be transported to the vet that makes the most sense.

This is going to be a cost we won’t get back, and we have two other kitties who have to see specialists in the next 2 weeks…

So if you can spare some $$, please do. We are really going to need it. 🙏🏻☹️

We’re sorry, but have you ever seen cuter adoption day photos!?

Congrats to Sophie and Bingo! They get to spend the rest of their days with this guy. He knew he loved them before he met them! 😻😻

If you are looking for a snuggly companion to add to your crew, look no further than sweet little Milton!

This guy was on the streets nose booping the resident ferals, and following the sounds of the cries of another cat.

This boy will surely be a great addition to any home with a human who likes to snuggle, and another kitty who likes to nose boop!

He is not listed on Petfinder just yet, but he will be soon!

If gray hunks are your thing, keep your eyes peeled for his official bio! 😻

Little update about Oak - she has switched back to her regular food, and is still trying hard to eat it REALLY fast.

A slow feeder/lick mat may be her best friend for life. 😭 It’s kind of easy to see how/why she ingested what she ingested. (Whatever that was??)

She was likely not fed regularly in her last “home”, and left to never know when her next meal was coming… and so this sweet little monster was created.

Anyway… she’s doing great. Her incision is healing well, and she’s got about another month before she’s in the clear of having that belly flip again.

Like we said before, it is because of you that she survived her blockage. We appreciate you! 🙏🏻

Would you foster a cat if we told you it had to live in this apartment until someone stepped up to do it?

Because that’s exactly the case for the cats inside of this place.

We received an email about a hoard at this location less than a week ago. The landlord guessed there to be 5-6 cats there.

We are now at cat #13.

We barely had room for the 5-6 cats, let alone 13.

If you have a spare bedroom, bathroom, office or basement and are willing to give one of these cats a chance at the good life, PLEASE apply to foster.

We are BEYOND desperate.

PLEASE consider fostering today!
PLEASE share with your friends and family!

This apartment smells exactly the way it looks. It hurts to breathe in there. Please help us help these cats. 🙏🏻 We promise it is rewarding in so many ways.

And if ANY other rescues can take even 1, that would be so incredibly helpful. 🙏🏻😭

How many toes!? Nobody knows!

Meet Tomato! 🍅 The sweetest boi, who chooses pets and snuggles over play!

This big footed dude does well with other cats, and even cat friendly dogs!

While he makes a great companion for a human, we would like to see him with another feline in his new home, as he thrives off of company!

We hope his new family will be comfortable giving nail trims, as he will need them! (Don’t worry, he TOEtally lets it happen!)

This handsome orange man is absolutely not going to last long on Petfinder, so go check out his profile (link to Petfinder in bio), and get your application in now!

Imagine your caretaker dies, and nobody finds out they’re dead for 4 days.

And imagine nobody realizes you’re even in the home for 5 more additional days.

Meet: THESE CATS.

(Email with details about the situation are in the photos.)

The finder believes there are at least 7 cats inside of this apartment that need help.

We are honestly not in a place to take all of these cats on, but it is really hard to turn a blind eye, as this area has no animal control.

If we’re going to help, we need 2 things - fosters and funds.

If you’ve got a spare room, bathroom, basement, bedroom or office, YOU CAN HELP!

If you’ve got $5, YOU CAN HELP!

UPDATE:

Sweet little Oak did REALLY well during her extremely tricky surgery, and we can’t thank Dr. Morse at PetVet365 enough for getting her on her schedule today! She did an incredible job with her!

It turns out that Oak had ingested multiple strings of some sort that had wrapped themselves around her intestines. Dr. Morse could not tell what the strings were exactly, but she definitely had her work cut out for her. ✂️

The ingested strings caused what is called “intussusception”, which is a condition in which part of the intestine telescopes into itself.

The bad news is that there is a chance that intussusception could happen again on its own- without a foreign body.

If it SHOULD happen again, it will develop into another obstruction on its own, which would mean another emergency surgery, and potentially removing the affected parts of the intestines.

The good news is that today’s obstruction was caught early enough that her intestines were not damaged. They still looked healthy enough to leave in there, so we are all thinking positive and hoping everything stays put for the next 6 weeks.

If we make it through the next 6 weeks without an issue, she will be in the clear.

This surgery truly saved her life, and we could never thank you all enough for allowing for us to make it happen!

She is now sleeping comfortably in her temporary home that is a large dog crate. 🐈‍⬛💤

We will keep everyone posted!

🙏🏻 THANK YOU ALL! You are incredible, and truly responsible for her little beating heart tonight! ❤️

🏥 Oak is currently on the operating table.

We are about $500 away from a safe zone for her surgery costs today.

We still do not know the extent of the surgery, how many incisions she needs, or if it has even been successful, but we DO know that we are paying for it regardless!

That’s where you come in!

If you can spare $1, $5, $10 - they ALL count!

Those who think $5 isn’t enough are so very mistaken!

$5 from everyone who sees this will get us to our goal so quickly!

THANK YOU TO ALL who have so GENEROUSLY already donated!!
