💫Castor and Pollux, our little star babies, came into this world too early, and they left too soon. 💫
We brought their momma into Catcalls early this morning, knowing she was due to pop any day. Little did we know that today would be the day.
Pollux passed shortly after birth. Castor remarkably held on to life for 5 hours.
Their momma is tiny. She’s so tiny that we’ve named her Tiny.
Tiny wasn’t sure what to do with a baby that couldn’t nurse, but she cleaned them off like a good momma should, and left us to handle the rest.
We kept Castor warm in a towel and a heated bed as they took their most unbelievable last little breaths.
Three of us were here to care for the little one, and to keep an eye on momma…
Tiny is so sweet. Almost too sweet. She is still relaxing in the crate. Her belly still feels hard, and we aren’t sure if she is finished giving birth, yet…
She will be going to the vet first thing tomorrow morning, as long as she shows no major signs of distress overnight. (If she does, off to the ER we will go.)
The suffering today was pointless. The labor, the delivery, the slow demise of two little souls.
It could have all been avoided with a simple spay.
Please share this with someone who won’t spay their cat.
Please consider helping another person get their cat fixed.
Do it for Castor and Pollux. 💫💫
As always, donations are greatly appreciated. 🙏🏻
