Not me panic buying fabric since my main fabric retailer (Joann’s) is completely closing all of their Pittsburgh stores.

For all who have reached out, thanks for your kind words of encouragement and local intel on small, local fabric stores that I didn’t even know about. I don’t currently envision an impact on my small business but I will definitely communicate any changes if I start to run into access issues. Just a reminder though, like myself, small businesses prices are higher than most big box stores because it’s a small team running the show. Also, many small fabric stores source fabric from ethically responsible companies which means, you guessed it, costs more money!

Here’s to pivoting slightly in 2025!

If you know of any quilting shops or small boutique fabric stores drop their business names in the comments. I know of already as I have purchased fun quirky patterns from them. Also, .bug shared with me recently! They don’t have to be located in Pittsburgh! I will take any recommendations! 🥹

Also, in case you are curious… I will most likely work through the majority of this fabric mountain by April! 🤯😳

I started up our third market season last night sporting my most iconic, on-brand, statement earrings from my pal and my favorite Christmas gift from my sister. A custom crewneck with my angel’s faces on them! Not pictured are my dog lover socks which was another part of my gift. I’m very easy to shop for… coffee, stuff for my dogs, dog themed stuff for me! 🐶🦴

✨ I’m interrupting your dog feed to share that…Today was magical! I got to watch a friend’s dream come true! ✨

To meet and become friends with someone as quickly as I did with Evan from Evanly Bakes was like something out of a movie. Evan is one of the hardest working and most passionate humans on the face of this planet. He moved to PGH with his husband and literally showed this city what he is all about in such a short 🤏🏼 amount of time and today he opened his doors to his first brick and mortar!

Today we celebrated Evanly Bakes grand opening at Voodoo Brewing Co. in New Kensington. I couldn’t be anymore proud of my friend and I’m excited to see him continue to grow and flourish in his bakery and beyond.

I’m beyond thankful for each and every one of you. It’s hard to put into words what it truly means to me but just know that Odie, Zoey and I do a little celebration dance with every order, review and social media shoutout that we get. Bezos and all the other billionaires out there don’t do that, they just buy their 7th vacation home. Keep your money local and shop small, always!

Dog Fun Fact: Did you know how far dogs can smell depends on many things, such as the wind and the type of scent? Under perfect conditions, they have been reported to smell objects or people as far as 20km away. That’s almost 12.5 miles! Odie is gonna be nose to the wind smelling loads of yummy thanksgiving meals today and getting up close and personal with all of our Thanksgiving guests!
