Puppy training and socialization class! Puppies will learn how to offer desirable behaviors like sit, down, attention, foundation leash walking, impulse control, and more! Puppies will have some puppy play opportunities and have good experiences around a variety of people, noises, vet-prep work, and more critical socialization skills.
PRE-REQUISITES: Must be 18 weeks or younger by week 1, be current on their vaccination protocol, & have a clean f***l test or proof of recent worming before class.

Start your year off right! January is National Train Your Dog Month!

Pick one thing you want to focus on with your pup this month! Make a plan and do it! It's easy to get overwhelmed working on so many things. But pick one thing and focus on that. Plan just one or two sessions each week, focusing just with that one thing in mind.

Clicker dogs can have a lovely reliable stay! Even with a loud crinkly tarp being fluffed and waved around and moving underneath their body. Alfie was just in the way but Strax and Oswin (and eventually Meep) were all doing lovely work helping me cut tarps by holding them down and letting me create tension.

And more of our fabulous Well-Trained Dogs! So many ribbons, so many titles, so many different dogs doing so many different things!

We had a bunch of CGCs, a couple therapy dogs, rally-o, scentwork (akc/nacsw/cwags), trick titles galore, a couple fitness titles, barn hunt, dock diving, whippet racing, fastcat, CAT, earthdog, flyball, parkour, and speedway.

So many fun activities to get involved in! There's something for everyone who wants to find things to do with their pup!

American Ninja Warrior Pups edition! Your pup will learn all the novice level parkour skills and squences to be able to later film skills and submit a video to the International Dog Parkour Association to earn the Novice Title! Or use these physical obstacle tricks to spice up your walks and tire out your dogs even more on their daily walks!

Learn all the skills on solid and safe equipment and then take the skills out into nature! Make your walks more exciting by adding paws up, over, under, through, balance beam, around, back up, and hop up to the route! Paws up on that wall, go around that street sign, walk across that low retaining wall, hop over that low fence, crawl under that bench, slither between those posts, etc.

Pre-requisites--Dogs need to have completed Elementary Manners successfully or higher. We can do 1 full barrier for a well-managed spicy pup who works quietly in group class with the barrier. If your dog needs a full barrier, please reach out first to see if we have space.

And the winner is....... Eddy! Eddy, CGC to be precise! Reach out to get your free class lined up!

We managed to wrapped up our Well-Trained Dogs Can Do More Contest for 2025 more or less on time!

We had over 50 new titles or certifications for SJC students submitted (and I know of a bunch more from pups whose humans lost track of time and didn't submit LOL).

It was a fabulous year for everyone who is participating in dog sports, fun programs like trick titles, and important work like therapy dogs!

These activities aren't the be all and end all of well-trained dogs by any means, but they are a great way to build a fabulous relationship, encouraged continued training, and just have a good time doing things with your pup!

(We'll have a second photo drop of our fabulous doggos/teams since we couldn't fit them all here!)

2026 here we come!

I (Tena) don't do resolutions, I don't even really focus on strict goal setting, but there are somethings I want to focus on with the dogs in 2026.

What are things you want to try with your dog or do with them in 2026?

OVERALL--more time at our favorite nature area to just decompress and advenutre off leash (or maayyybeee we find our perfect house/property and we can do it on our own piece of land)

I want to keep Oswin healthy, happy, and active at 10 years old. We'll do more fun sporty things and I want to get her to try Happy Ratters or Barn Hunt now that we've had a chance to practice. I may try to do enough flyball practice that she can debut at 10 LOL. I want to try to get her on sheepies as a bucket list item--she's got a lot of eye and herding behaviors so i think she'd love it!

I want to keep Alfie active in her therapy dog work, because she does really enjoy it. She's a couple handful of points away from her ASFA LCC title, so hopefully we can plug away on those and maybe finish this year.

I want to get Strax his breed racing championship with AOK9 (he only needs 2 points), i want to try and spend a little more time on the dock this year than we did last year and see if we can get him more consistently catching his bumper! Maybe do a flyball tournament or two (If oswin gets to try sheepies, he will too, though he doesn't have many herding behaviors).

I want Meep to finish his ASFA lure coursing championship (after a year of coursing, he's now cheating more than i'd like but eh... he's got his wins and just needs to collect points), I want to try and get him going off the dock more smoothly, we'll do some flyball tournaments, and i want to let him try happy ratters/barn hunt. PLUS if oswin gets to try sheepies, i want him to try it as well--he doesn't have as much as oswin, but more than strax in terms of herding behavior, so i think he might like it!

And I want to do more photography things! Get my camera out now often and do more of the fun hobby I love!

Dogs of all ages can join in on the fun that is trick training--Puppies through seniors can have fun with tricks! This is specifically a Novice level class--we often do a novice/intermediate, but this time around we are focusing on Novice alone. Your pup will learn fun basic tricks like spin, take a bow, peekaboo, paws up, 4 paws up, leg weaves, figure 8, jump for joy, and/or others!

Each class is custom created based on the dogs in class--not every trick is appropriate for all dogs, so we adjust based on who we have in class. There are tons of tricks to choose from and your pup will be a performer by the time they are done!

Kelly is a CTDI and can sign off on your DMWYD titles and your AKC trick titles

Prerequisites: Dogs/puppies must be comfortable working in a group class environment with dogs and people. Well-managed reactive dog who has been successful in group class behind a barrier can sign up

Happy New Year's Eve! Dogs did lots of random stuff to tire out their brains and bodies to be nice and settled tonight! We'll get some good white noise and calming aids in board for the dogs who may have more concerns if anything gets rowdy tonight.

Other than that, we are all tucked in waiting to bring in the new year with Stranger Things! Best way to spend the new year haha!

Come learn Rally O! This is a fabulous introductory sport for dogs! It builds off of good manners behaviors like sit, down, stay, loose leash walking and more. So it's a great way to spice up your practice of those basics.

You'll learn WCRL and C-WAGS rally signs--all of Level 1 and Starter signs, plus WCRL's common bonus signs from level 2.

Each week you'll learn a 'family' of signs and can practice how to perform them successfully. Once you've learned all the signs over the course of the class, the last week will be your chance to put the pieces together to run a rally course!

This class is NOT a precision class, but is a class to learn the basics of all the signs and how to run a rally course.

Prerequisites--Pups should be comfortable in a group class environment. We can use full barriers for more spicy dogs in this class, but they should be able to work behind barriers without reacting. Dogs should have completed at least Elementary Manners
