This is basic level class! Dogs will be introduced to foundation skills and learn how to learn through clicker training (or using “yes”). Dogs will learn: focus, sit, down, impulse control, greeting people nicely, settle on a mat, loose leash walking, and more! Humans will learn how to effectively use clicker/marker training to build solid communication and a positive relationship.

Prerequisites: This can be used as a first class or a refresher but dogs MUST be comfortable in a group class environment.

Mats are Magic! This one tool can be used to train so many different skills and fun training games! We love multi purpose skills! Teach it once and use it a ton of different ways makes it such a useful skill.

This class teaches skills with your new Mutt Mat calm mat--greeting people skills, settle and relax in general, settle while others are having fun, settle by the table while your human eats a snack. We will also use a different ACTION mat to teach fast paced and advanced skills like a sit/down at a distance, a sit/down on a recall or from heeling (while you continue to move forward they stay put0]), do your tricks at a distance, flyball box turn foundations, running contacts for agility, and mats for leash walking skills!

Prerequisites--Dogs must be comfortable working in a class with others. We can accommodate a reactive dog or two who may need a full barrier but they should be able to work quietly behind their barrier.

Come learn Rally O! This is a fabulous introductory sport for dogs! It builds off of good manners behaviors like sit, down, stay, loose leash walking and more. So it's a great way to spice up your practice of those basics.
You'll learn WCRL and C-WAGS rally signs--all of Level 1 and Starter signs, plus WCRL's common bonus signs from level 2.
Each week you'll learn a 'family' of signs and can practice how to perform them successfully. Once you've learned all the signs over the course of the class, the last week will be your chance to put the pieces together to run a rally course!
This class is NOT a precision class, but is a class to learn the basics of all the signs and how to run a rally course.
Prerequisites--Pups should be comfortable in a group class environment. We can use full barriers for more spicy dogs in this class, but they should be able to work behind barriers without reacting. Dogs should have completed at least Elementary Manners.

Look, we can't guarantee a drama free holiday season, but we can help reduce the dog-related drama around the holidays!

This class covers polite greetings, settling on a mat around human meal time, relaxing around people on a mat, impulse control around food on counters/tables, going to a station/bed/crate at a knock/doorbell, and more skills that make the holiday festivities a little easier with your pup.

This class ISN'T for pups who are fearful, nervous, or uncomfortable with guests in the home and that's the cause of their behavioral struggles.

PREREQUISITES--dogs should be comfortable in group class setting, a little dog reactivity is okay if they can easily work in class. Since we work so much greeting people appropriately, dogs should be friendly and social with people. They should have passed Elementary Manners.

Puppy training and socialization class! Puppies will learn how to offer desirable behaviors like sit, down, attention, foundation leash walking, impulse control, and more! Puppies will have some puppy play opportunities and have good experiences around a variety of people, noises, vet-prep work, and more critical socialization skills.

PRE-REQUISITES: Must be 18 weeks or younger by week 1, be current on their vaccination protocol, & have a clean f***l test or proof of recent worming before class.

Oswin is just so amazing! She doesn't get the training she deserves but she still is just such a good sniffer and makes me look good! She earned her first NW3 today with 5\6 pronounced searches and placed second overall (and 3rd in containers). It was really nice (though completely unexpected) to finally snag an overall placement because she's been consistently good but consistently JUST outside placements in her NACSW career thus far...she was 4th in both her NW1 and NW2. She got many chickens and a celebratory ice cream!

This on the heels of her 1st place finish in eclipse at IDS national championship yesterday!

Best girl ever... Such an incredible versatile doggo!

For puppies 3-6months old-ish. *Puppies shouldn't be reactive, but minor fixating or a couple barks at other dogs is okay

Do you want your puppy to be confident and well mannered enough to join you at pet friendly patios, on your vacation adventures, and to pet friendly stores? This class is designed for the adventure puppy in mind--we focus on life skills like calmness around other dogs, settling around people, nice leash walking, greeting people (or not greeting them), and settle at a table while dogs/people walk by. We also focus on socialization pieces like sounds, confidence on unstable surfaces, medical equipment, and humans in weird dress.

PREREQUISITES--This can be a first puppy class or a follow up to puppy K. Puppies should be comfortable around people and other dogs. Puppies should be comfortable with people and other puppies in the environment.

Look, we cannot guarantee no drama at your holiday gatherings this year... but we CAN help prevent your dog being the source of that drama! No years of hearing that cringe-worthy story of Thanksgiving of 2024.

This class covers a lot of skills to make holiday gatherings and guests in the home less stressful. We teach a lot of skills for appropriate greetings, we work on manners around food on tables, a reliable Leave It, go to your mat/station while i open a door, doorbell/knock = go to your mat/station, relax on a mat, settle on a mat during meal times, and other skills to make having guests over less stressful.

Dogs MUST be friendly towards guests in your home and friendly towards people. Well-managed reactive dogs who can work in a class successfully with barriers are welcome! Dogs should have foundation skills like sit, down, attention and dogs and humans should have basic positive reinforcement training skills.

Learn the foundation skills for scentwork in this fun and popular class! Dogs will learn to LOVE searching, will learn to identify Birch Oil, will learn to search various containers to find the one with the birch oil, and will start developing a start-line routine and indication. Handlers will learn how to imprint odor, how to set hides, how to handle their dog, and how to start reading their dog when they are on odor.

This class will include an introductory scent kit for all students that included a jar of scented q-tips, several scent vessels, and tweezers to handle the odor.

Pre-requisites--Dogs must feel comfortable working in a group class environment. We have the ability to have well-managed reactive dogs in class but dogs must still be able to work with other dogs in the environment.

Dogs of all ages can join in on the fun that is trick training--Puppies through seniors can have fun with tricks! This is specifically a Novice level class--we often do a novice/intermediate, but this time around we are focusing on Novice alone. Your pup will learn fun basic tricks like spin, take a bow, peekaboo, paws up, 4 paws up, leg weaves, figure 8, jump for joy, and/or others!

Each class is custom created based on the dogs in class--not every trick is appropriate for all dogs, so we adjust based on who we have in class. There are tons of tricks to choose from and your pup will be a performer by the time they are done!

Kelly is a CTDI and can sign off on your DMWYD titles and your AKC trick titles

Prerequisites: Dogs/puppies must be comfortable working in a group class environment with dogs and people. Well-managed reactive dog who has been successful in group class behind a barrier can sign up.
