Raising orphaned rabbits is not a job for the weak of heart, it takes a special warrior to raise these little ones. They’ve not received Momma’s nourishment once birthed, so keeping their bellies full of nutrients, finding the correct dose of a concoction not readily available, maintaining proper hydration and regulating their temperature are just a few of the many tasks at hand. Knowing that everytime you see them, you need to adjust for the most current issue but more often, there are several twists. Then take into account the heartbreak of the ones who don’t make it. Although we are a village of our learned experience, it often falls to just one.

This little one was caught north east of the city with a bloated belly and a lions mane full of dreadlocks. Kudos to the Good Sam who rallied their neighbors to help. We know there’s at least one more, possibly three rabbits still remaining. Send all the good vibes this one’s way.

February is Adopt a Rescued Rabbit month, and we are celebrating!

Meet Linden. This adorable lop was abandoned in a lovely neighborhood east of the city. How do we know it was lovely? She took us on a tour through beautiful backyards, introducing us to all the neighbors who were watching out for her. Not only did we meet them, but they met each other, united in their cause to rescue her. This professional social organizer has moved her profession indoors. Her litter skills are almost perfect, she’s very particular on how she wants her space and will let you know if it’s not up to her standards. Looking for a brave, independent, no-nonsense female?
