To everyone who showed up for our Community Work Day: Spring Wake-Up—thank you. 💚 Because of your hands, hearts, and hustle, garden beds were cleared, mulch was laid, and the farm is now waking up to possibility.

This isn’t just prep work for planting—it’s soul work for a just, joyful season ahead. Your presence reminded us: when the community comes together, the soil isn’t the only thing that grows.

We’re just getting started.
📅 Join us for the next one this April as we build, tend, and transform this land together.

Next stop: healing, harvest, and hope. Let’s keep growing.

We are happy to announce that our Hazelwood Food Recycling Site (4501 Sylvan Ave) will be hosting the IWLA Western PA chapter on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, 10:00 am - 7:00 pm for distributing FREE blueberry bushes.

They will have 250 Patriot and 250 Blue Crop highbush blueberries to give away this spring. If purchased at a store, these bushes would run you $12-15 each, but we are giving them away free!

To reserve your plants for pickup, **PLEASE email [email protected]. The plants will be distributed first come, first serve, so let us know as soon as possible how many you wish to receive. RSVP at lu.ma/user/involveMINT

Highbush blueberries offer numerous health benefits, and they are linked to improved heart health, brain function, and muscle recovery. The plant also has high wildlife value and is a host for 288 butterflies and moths. A more detailed sheet will be handed out when you pick your plants up.

If you have any bottles to spare, please drop them off at the front desk of the Frick Environmental Center anytime now through the end of May.

Grateful for good hands + big hearts!
Last week, Clemson University students spent part of their spring break serving alongside Bible Center and helping us wake up the farm for the season ahead.

From moving mulch to prepping beds, their work planted seeds of impact—and reminded us that when we serve together, we grow together.

Thank you for showing up, digging in, and being part of our story!

A farm is more than just a place that grows food—it’s a place that grows ideas, connections, and change. 🌱🌍

We were honored to host guests from Mozambique and the Pitt School of Public Health for a tour of Oasis Farm & Fishery. Seeing global leaders engage with our work reminds us that access to fresh, sustainable food is a worldwide issue—and every conversation, partnership, and shared meal moves us closer to solutions.

To our guests: Thank you for sharing your knowledge, curiosity, and passion for food justice. Together, we grow stronger. 🌿

We’re feeling un-pepper-ed without fresh peppers right now… but not for long! 🌶️👀

At Oasis Farm & Fishery, we believe in growing fresh, local food that nourishes our community—but farming isn’t just about what’s on your plate today. It’s about planting seeds for the future.

Right now, we’re in the prep season, making sure everything is ready for a bountiful harvest ahead. These beauties are from last season, but trust us… the best is yet to come!

What’s your favorite way to use fresh peppers? Drop a recipe below! ⬇️
