Here's a quick update on sweet, little Jet. She had an opportunity go to a foster home while she gets some treatment for some loose stool. Sadly, she won't be in the store anymore, at least for now. Maybe she'll come back at some point when we all have a better grasp of what was making her p**ps so yucky. She's still available to inquire about and start the adoption process on the web site. I've been chilling with Jet for about a week now and we're getting to know each other better. Let me get the bad news out of the way, Lil Jet is FIV+. That doesn't mean that she won't live a long, fulfilling life. It doesn't even mean she has to be the only kitty in her household. It certainly carries some risk, however. A quick disclaimer, I found this site fairly quickly. I linked to it because it seemed pretty level-headed and didn't seem to be written by AI. I don't necessarily know much about the folks who made it and I encourage anyone interested to talk to their vet and research elsewhere too.

Regardless, Jet is sugar-sweet and is most comfortable when someone is nearby and giving up some love. I think she would be a wonderful companion at home, the sort of kitty that's likely to follow you all around the house. She does get pretty vocal when she wants something. She's cute and tiny, she doesn't mind being held. She's got a healthy purr. And she's gorgeous, of course. thinks she is about 2 years old.

Local Pet has got another kitty for yinz! Check out sweet and tiny Jet! I don't know a lot of details about her so I'll edit this post if I learn more. Hi! Don't try to come shopping on Memorial Day. I'll be out of the store all day. I've been hustling down here seven days a week since February and I need to grab a little R&R. Bon voyage, Tonka! The adoption couldn't have gone any more smoothly. I'll miss you (a lot) but I know you'll love your new home! We'll get a new kitty real soon but stop over in the meantime. Come see him while you can. The buzz around Tonka is growing fast. A couple of details that I missed earlier: Tonka is about 3 years old (you'd likely guess younger), he's a rowdy boy who loves turning on the charisma. He's done well with some cats but doesn't want a kitty roommate who is bossy and domineering. Cat-friendly dogs are probably okay too. ONE MORE THING: Tuesday will be another late morning for LocalPet. Stupid doctors appointment. I'll be in by 11am however. Meet Tonka! He's a long, lean energetic kitty. He moves too quickly for clear photography so far. He just came to stay so I don't know a whole lot of details about this fabulous kitty yet. When I get some clearer pics and more info, I'll be sure to update. I can say he's a sweetheart with lots of positive energy. Wow, the sun! Unexpected, nourishing and making for a gorgeous day down on South Trenton. Heads up: I have a stupid appointment tomorrow, Friday 4/19. It's scheduled for noon over in Oakland. I'll come in at 10am like normal and get everything ready-to-go for the day. I'll stay open to 11:15ish and then close. If all goes well, I should be back in the store by 1:30, hopefully no later than 2pm. I hate skipping out like this and try to avoid it. I don't normally stock scented kitty litter, so when my vendor sent me these two in error, I decide to just sell them at my cost. (Sometimes more simple than arranging a vendor pick-up).The experts at World's Best insist that lavender is an odor that doesn't have any ill effects on kitties, nor will it turn them off their box. Basically, it's an opportunity to get a 28lb bag or two for the cost of 15lb bags. Another perspective; 28lb bags typically go for $38.99. Over ten bucks off! Interested? Stop by! Cheers!

I figure a short day like a Sunday, only scheduled to be open for 3.5 hours, is a good sort of litmus test for longer days like tomorrow. Plus, I miss Aster. I'll continue to keep you posted. I'm afraid I've got some more discouraging news. It's the middle of the night and I'm in the hospital. About 10-12 years ago, I had some challenges regarding my heart rhythm. I had a procedure and it worked. Until tonight. I wouldn't be so disclosive but I felt like I needed to explain why Local Pet won't be open on Saturday. I'm going to try my best to get in there on Sunday but even that feels quite uncertain. I'll certainly keep posting here to keep anyone informed. In the meantime, I've started making arrangements to ensure sweet old Aster is taken care of in my absence. Hopefully, I'll gain a better grasp of things in the light of tomorrow morning. Bad morning at LocalPet, darn it. My credit card processing machine is busted, really the last thing I need right now. I'm scrambling to get a new one delivered from the bank ASAP but it isn't going to be any sooner than tomorrow. Aster! This guy is a sweetheart, he loves pets around his face and neck and he loves some yummy canned cat food and he loves brushing with a gentle slicker. He's no spring chicken, he's thirteen years old. To me, it seems like he's the sort of kitty that would be totally happy just curled up next to you on the couch. Meet Aster, a handsome older boy who just arrived yesterday from . He's still acclimating to LocalPet so I don't know him that well yet. I set aside the latter part of the afternoon to just sit with him and I learned that he is very sweet and just loves gentle pets around his face and chin. I can tell already that he'd make a cozy companion. LocalPet also received two giant orders of food and treats this afternoon so I bet we have what you're looking for.
