Keep your pets safe this paw-liday season with the following tips! 🎁 #happyholidays #petsafety
Today is such a beautiful day to take a stroll with your pup! As April is recognized as Active dog month, we encourage daily exercise for our pets. It is not only healthy for them, but also for us as owners. Socialization, building trust, weight management, and help reduce unruliness/destructive behaviors are some of the benefits noticed.
Please appreciate Miss Anya making a friend on her daily walk. How cute are they!❤
We wanted to highlight 3/4 of our very own Veterinarians Dr. Mihalic, Dr. Albanese, and Dr. Fruman in light of International Women's day! These 3 consistently inspire us all in their compassion for animals and patient care. Our hospital is lucky to have them!🥰
You can read more about them on our website:

Fear of Noise?
Rain and thunder and wind, OH MY! Storm season is among us. These and many other noises can cause pets to feel afraid & anxious. Is your dog one of them? Ask us about treatment options so we can help your pet live their healthiest life!
We would like to give a BIG shout out to Hank & his mom for participating in training sessions with us so Hank could have his first “fear free” nail trim! Prior to this work, Hank was so afraid that 3 staff members were needed to cut his nails & he would try to bite during the process. But now look at him! Enjoy this short video of Hank’s progress & contact us if we can help you & your pet! #fearfreefriday #fearfreevetvisits
Does your home turn into a wrestling ring when it comes time to give your dog his medications?! Contact us to find out how we can help you both learn cooperative care techniques, just like Brady!
Ever wonder how zoo staff draw blood from an orangutan or cut an elephant’s toe nails? They focus on preventing stress & reversing fear by teaching cooperative vet care, just like Brady is learning in this video! Contact us today to find out how we can help you and your pet prepare for their next vet visit!
Dr. Leidy - Issues with Senior Pets
Did you miss our meeting last week about issues with senior pets? No worries! We recorded Dr. Leidy during the talk so you can listen when you have some spare time! Meeting notes will also be put on our website soon!
**Disclaimer: This is the first time we've recorded audio for a meeting so we hope it works well! It jumps in about 30 seconds into her introduction. **
Riley had his first vet visit with us today & mom said he’s never had a visit like this one! She warned us that he doesn’t typically do well with vaccines because he’s so afraid. Just watch how we Fear Freed him so he could get all 4 of the vaccines he needed! #fearfree because it works!
Is your kitty afraid of having their nails cut? Our Fear Free certified staff members Angi & Rachel were able to provide Garfunkel with a low stress nail trim by using food & taking breaks between cutting each nail. We can do the same for your kitty too! Call today to schedule your Fear Free nail trim!
Muzzle training series: In only a few sessions we’ve worked up to Dr. Leidy’s pup Brady putting his face into the muzzle when he hears the cue “muzzle” and also built some duration with him wearing it so he can now wait patiently as it is strapped on. Nice work Brady!
Does your dog have to be muzzled at the vet? Check out Dr. Leidy’s pup Brady learning how to comfortably wear a muzzle with our staff trainer Rachel! If your dog requires a muzzle for any procedures, be sure to ask us how we can help your dog love his muzzle rather than be stressed about it for a Fear Free veterinary experience! #FearFree
We are introducing Fear Free procedures here at PHPH. By using food rewards we are teaching this puppy how to feel comfortable getting on the scale. Always bring your pets favorite thing (toy, chewy, treats) with you to their vet appointment!
