Five hours of play a day is included in our pricing, and each dog has access to its own covered outside area all day, with frequent attention and potty breaks. We’re getting ready for Valentine’s Day over here at Canine Cabin’s grooming salon! Is your pup your fur-ever valentine? If so, spoil them with a spaw day this month!

All baths & full grooming services include a full brush out, deshed, nail grind & paw pad cleanup, ear cleaning, teeth cleaning and eye drops. We are now including a paw balm as well to keep those paw pads fresh this winter!

This month everyone’s getting dressed in pink and purple bandanas and finished with a spritz of a sweet, pet-safe cologne. My favorite this month is our candy scent! 🩷🍬

Regular grooming is absolutely still necessary during the colder months!❄️🛁

Many times owners mistakenly believe that they can skip grooming over the winter—often based on good intentions, such as thinking they should allow their dog’s coat to grow in and provide extra warmth. What you may think is adding extra cold-weather protection will actually be doing just the opposite. Matted fur does not properly insulate—instead it can cause discomfort, pain, hot spots, and can even lead to skin infections.

Dry skin in dogs can occur more often in the winter, and most dogs benefit from a regular bathing schedule. A good shampoo, condition, blowout and brushing about once a month can do wonders for their skin.

Your pup’s paws and nails also require special attention during the winter. Ice and salt can irritate your dog’s pads—becoming dry and cracked. Like humans, most dog’s physical activity slows down a bit in the winter—your dog is probably not grinding their own nails as much on the sidewalk. Nails need trimmed consistently to avoid slipping on icy surfaces.

Not our usual dog post but I wanted to take a second to shout out to the group of incredible young women that keep this place running smoothly year round.

We did an escape room last night and if that was any indication of what might happen if I get kidnapped I am screwed 🤣 I definitely need these problem solvers with me!

We didn’t make it out in time (it was really hard) but I absolutely loved watching them work together as a team, come up with creative ideas and not be afraid to speak up or take chances.

These dedicated gals show up to care for the dogs no matter the weather with smiles on their faces. I can say with 100% certainty that they adore your dogs as much as we do.

Thanks for all that you do! We could not do this without you guys! ❤️

Our Story

CANINE CABINS OFFERS A LESS STRESSFUL ALTERNATIVE TO TRADITIONAL BOARDING.

Nestled in the woods of Ohio Township, Canine Cabins is a true retreat for dogs. Send your dogs on their own vacation and enjoy your time away knowing your pooch is safe and well taken care of, while getting exercise and having fun with friends.

We designed Canine Cabins to make the boarding experience as relaxing as possible for our guests. With only twelve suites we are able to give lots of love and one-on-one attention. We have five acres in the middle of the woods, and the land all around us is owned by the Pennsylvania Conservancy.

Canine Cabins features spacious suites lined in tile, complete with french doors, ceiling fans, heat and air conditioning and lots of natural light. Our rates are all-inclusive and the dogs typically get five hours of playtime each day. We have a 5,000 square foot play area and the dogs love playing fetch with our staff, splashing around in the pond, or just running around the yard with their pals. By bedtime they are exhausted and ready for their complimentary peanut butter Kong! Their day starts at 7:30 and ends at 8:30 with lots of love and affection between!
