No Dog Left Behind (formerly Pittsburgh Aviation Animal Rescue Team) coordinates and transports thousands of animals to their new homes free of charge. Leaving from the No Dog Left Behind Headquarters at the Allegheny County Airport in West Mifflin, PA, our single-engine Mahindra Airvan can fly up to 160 mph and average flights consist of 150 to 300 nautical miles each way, allowing us to serve th
e areas of Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Akron, Erie, Harrisburg, Charleston, WV, and more. We also connect with other pilots to run legs of much longer flights. Our land operation consists of a Ford Transit van that can transport up to 40 animals at a time, more than 1,000 miles each direction. No Dog Left Behind is networked with shelters, pet adoption services, and national transportation organizations who let us know of the need for a pet rescue transport. We act as quickly as we can to get ready for the flight because sometimes timing can mean life and death. When we are not flying or driving, we are working to coordinate and receive donations of food and animal supplies to fill our empty planes with to drop off at shelters and other rescue centers. No Dog Left Behind is also involved in a growing Community Outreach initiative that we began in 2012. Over the last few years, No Dog Left Behind has hosted school-aged children at the Allegheny Airport for learning sessions about animal rescue and aviation. Our unique blend of both animals and aviation acts a catalyst to spark the interest in children to inspire them to become more aware of the need for animal protection. Our volunteers are available to speak to the community on ongoing basis. Even though fuel and plane maintenance is expensive,No Dog Left Behind does not charge either party for the transportation of the animals. We get our payment by knowing we are helping deserving animals get to their loving homes and look forward to serving many more in the future. In November of 2013, we received our 501 (c) 3 non-profit status and set out on our goal of raising funds to buy a larger, more fuel efficient plane. A better fleet of aircrafts will enable No Dog Left Behind to expand our reach to include further distances while carrying a greater number of animals and supplies.

Nothing better than traveling with a fur crew of happy, wagging tails as they are on a journey to new lives.
Our Road Warriors, Dave S and Dave G, met the wonderful team from Kentucky Saving Them Together, Inc. in Lexington early yesterday morning to pick up 30 dogs/pups. 🐾
They had a day of challenging weather conditions but all made it safely to safety. After a little time to rest and decompress they will be ready for adoption through One of A Kind Pet Rescue and Geauga Mama Dogs and Pups, which are both located in northern Ohio.
We would not be able to coordinate and transport animals from the shelters free of charge without your support! So, thank you too for joining us on our mission to save the lives of animals in danger while enriching the lives of people.

Sweet Faye is looking for here home and furEver family. She was a bit shy at first during our transport but after a bit of trust she showed us so much love. She’s ready to give all her love to the right home ❤️

Everyone had a great time snuggling with this crew last weekend after our transport. Now they’re ready to find their furEver snuggle 🥰 buddies.

We hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the beginning of 2025!
Our road-to-rescue transports are on a roll with 8 missions already and a total of 207 animals being rescued. This includes one emergency that needed to happen immediately for the safety of multiple dogs that were in an abusive situation, being bred, conditioned and trained to fight for spectator entertainment and profit. The state troopers seized the dogs and then our team were able to transport them to a safe location where their rehabilitation can begin. The owner was arrested on charges of facilitating dog fights and animal cruelty. We are so grateful to be a part of getting animals out of dangerous situations.
The teamwork involved in all rescues is so important and we are so grateful to be part of this amazing group of animal advocates that have become more like a family.
We could not continue our mission without the support of everyone involved and we hope to make 2025 an exceptional year for animal rescue.

Pittsburgh’s going to the Puppy Bowl!!!
We’ll be cheering 📣 on Franco, Sully, Mercury, and Centaur.
While millions of people will be tuning to Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, animal lovers will have the chance to see their four-legged friends compete in two...

When we got the call yesterday from our former Director and amazing animal advocate, Mary Kennedy Withrow, we knew that it was urgent.
The planning started immediately to get these dogs to safety. Our van was loaded and we were on the road before sunrise.
Multiple dogs were in an abusive situation, being bred, conditioned and trained to fight for spectator entertainment and profit.
The state troopers seized the dogs and then our NDLB team, Tiffany and Dave, were able to transport them to a safe location where their rehabilitation can begin.
The owner was arrested on charges of facilitating dog fights and animal cruelty. This is an open investigation so we will limit the information and may not be able to answer everyone’s question, but for now we can say that we are grateful to be a part of getting animals out of dangerous situations.
Today was a good day for animal rescue ❤️

The teamwork involved in animal rescue is so important and we are so grateful to be part of this amazing group that has become more like a family.
Yesterday’s 2nd transport started in Lexington, KY before sunrise. NDLB drivers, Dave K and Scott, warmed up the van to prepare for the crew that was about to arrive.
50 dogs went on their journey to new lives thanks to Kentucky Saving Them Together, Inc.
They were on the road most of the day making multiple stops to drop off the sweet fur crew.
Thank you to Geauga Mama Dogs and Pups and One of A Kind Pet Rescue.
They will make sure all the pups get the best care as they find their new homes where they will make an impact on so many people. ❤️

A wonderful day for animal rescue.
Our morning started out with meeting the team from Robertson County KY Animal Shelter in Maysville, KY. They are a small shelter but doing so much to better the lives for animals. This includes Fawn and Faye that they rescued from a home where they were neglected and living in a dangerous environment.
Then there’s Buck, Sol-leaks and Kiche. The fluffy Pyrenees mix pups that everyone couldn’t help but cuddle.
Mr. Lego might have been the happiest boy ever and loved everyone he met along the journey today.
All the dogs and pups were transported to One By One Rescue in White, PA, and will be ready for adoption within the next couple of weeks.
It was a very therapeutic day for all of us and great to see the changes some of the dogs have already made just from receiving love and affection ❤️

This crew will be available for adoption through One of A Kind Pet Rescue, Friendship Animal Protective League, and Geauga Mama Dogs and Pups. All are located in Northern Ohio.

Our morning started off with snow ❄️ and extremely cold temps, but once the cat crew were loaded into the warm and comfy van we were ready for the road.
Thank you Sharon and Butch for meeting us in West Virginia. They are part of the wonderful DACR (Dream Away Cat Rescue) team.
We traveled through West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and then ended in eastern Pennsylvania.
The cats were happy and hungry by the time we arrived at Providence Animal Center. Good thing the staff was ready to get them fed and settled in for the night.
All will be ready to find their homes soon ❤️

What an amazing day for this fur crew of 22 🐾
Our first transport for the week started early this morning in Lexington where we met with the most wonderful foster families from Kentucky Saving Them Together, Inc. lots of hugs and goodbye kisses before we set out on the road for their journey to Pittsburgh.
On arrival to Vet Tech Institute - Pittsburgh, PA we received an amazing welcome from the students and staff. They immediately sprung into action showing each dog the care and affection that they deserve.
All dogs will be neutered/spayed, vaccinated, and given any other medical attention needed. Some have already been adopted but a few may be available after their care.
We’ll keep everyone updated as we know more. ❤️

We have a busy week ahead with 3 transports 🐾

Our NDLB team, Tiffany and Tony, are on the road now heading to Kentucky for the first transport.
Thank you to all that continue to support us and keep us on the road so we can help save the lives of animals. ❤️

Oh George you are too cute. He was on our transport this past weekend and we know someone is going to add him to their family ❤️
Adoption Pending. This is George and he has the cutest pink nose and most soulful eyes around. He's about 11 weeks old and nearly 16lbs so he'll probably be a big boy of around 70-75 lbs.
George loves to cuddle with his foster family and play with his foster brother. He's doing well with paper training, but the snow is not helpful with house training. He's already neutered, loves on his big dog foster sister and is just slightly interested in cats.
He's very affectionate, loves cuddles and carrying around stuffed toys. If you’d like to meet George and be considered as an adop please message the page with your name and phone number

The Pittsburgh Aviation Animal Rescue Team (PAART) seeks to save the lives of animals in danger while enriching the lives of people.
Core to our mission, PAART coordinates and transports tens of thousands of animals to their new homes free of charge. Leaving from the PAART Headquarters at the Allegheny County Airport in Pittsburgh, PA, our Mahindra Airvan GA8 aircraft, sponsored by the Rachael Ray Foundation and Rachael Ray Nurtish can serve the entire eastern half of the United States.
Not only do we fly, we also use a Land Rescue Team that consists of a specially outfitted Ford Transit and a new custom Ford Cargo truck that can hold up to 100 animals. Each year the Land Team helps thousands of animals and drives up to 100,000 miles.
PAART is networked with shelters all over the county who call on us to provide life-saving transport. Our team can jump into action at a moment's notice to deploy our unique Land or Air Teams to go where ever animals are in danger. Each year, we embark on close to a hundred rescue missions resulting in thousands of animals being rescued all over the country and even into the Caribbean.
When we are not flying or driving, we are working to coordinate and receive donations of food and animal supplies to fill our empty planes with to drop off at shelters and other rescue centers. Every little bit counts. PAART is also involved in a growing Community Outreach initiative that we began in 2012. Over the last few years, PAART has hosted school-aged children at the Allegheny Airport for learning sessions about animal rescue and aviation. Our unique blend of both animals and aviation acts as a catalyst to spark the interest in children to inspire them to become more aware of the need for animal protection.
Even though fuel and plane maintenance is expensive, the Pittsburgh Aviation Animal Rescue Team does not charge either party for the transportation of the animals. We get our payment by knowing we are helping deserving animals get to their loving homes and look forward to serving many more in the future.
In November of 2013, we received our 501 (c) 3 non-profit status and set out on our goal of raising funds to buy a larger, more fuel-efficient plane. A better fleet of aircraft will enable PAART to expand our reach to include further distances while carrying a greater number of animals and supplies.
