No Dog Left Behind (formerly Pittsburgh Aviation Animal Rescue Team) coordinates and transports thousands of animals to their new homes free of charge. Leaving from the No Dog Left Behind Headquarters at the Allegheny County Airport in West Mifflin, PA, our single-engine Mahindra Airvan can fly up to 160 mph and average flights consist of 150 to 300 nautical miles each way, allowing us to serve th
e areas of Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Akron, Erie, Harrisburg, Charleston, WV, and more. We also connect with other pilots to run legs of much longer flights. Our land operation consists of a Ford Transit van that can transport up to 40 animals at a time, more than 1,000 miles each direction. No Dog Left Behind is networked with shelters, pet adoption services, and national transportation organizations who let us know of the need for a pet rescue transport. We act as quickly as we can to get ready for the flight because sometimes timing can mean life and death. When we are not flying or driving, we are working to coordinate and receive donations of food and animal supplies to fill our empty planes with to drop off at shelters and other rescue centers. No Dog Left Behind is also involved in a growing Community Outreach initiative that we began in 2012. Over the last few years, No Dog Left Behind has hosted school-aged children at the Allegheny Airport for learning sessions about animal rescue and aviation. Our unique blend of both animals and aviation acts a catalyst to spark the interest in children to inspire them to become more aware of the need for animal protection. Our volunteers are available to speak to the community on ongoing basis. Even though fuel and plane maintenance is expensive,No Dog Left Behind does not charge either party for the transportation of the animals. We get our payment by knowing we are helping deserving animals get to their loving homes and look forward to serving many more in the future. In November of 2013, we received our 501 (c) 3 non-profit status and set out on our goal of raising funds to buy a larger, more fuel efficient plane. A better fleet of aircrafts will enable No Dog Left Behind to expand our reach to include further distances while carrying a greater number of animals and supplies.

Wishing this crew a very Meowy Christmas 🎄
Just a small group of 12 cats hopped on board our road rescue van early this morning in West Virginia. Thank you DACR (Dream Away Cat Rescue) for fostering, socializing, and giving them so much love ❤️
Our NDLB team, Tony and Tiffany, spent the day with this crew as they headed to Providence Animal Center in Media, PA.
Oliver, the one eyed cat, was a playful and super friendly male that is definitely ready for a family to give him love and attention.
Shadow is a cuddle bug and super mellow. Her foster said she loves to binge watch tv…we were ready to bring her home.
Dough Boy is the orange cat and we found out he got his name because he will snuggle into any spot with you and form to the surroundings. 🤣
Thank you to the Providence team. They have a full house there but made the space so these cats could find a home. If you’re looking to adopt please check them out.
This cat rescue transport was sponsored by Barbara Spelic. Thank you Barbara for your support.
Happy Holidays everyone!

It was a very cold Road Rescue yesterday for this fur crew 🐾 but with all the love, and cozy blankets, it was a day filled with warmth.
Thank you to all the wonderful people we have met through Kentucky Saving Them Together, Inc.
They are an amazing group of volunteers that save so many pups from unsafe conditions by bringing them into their homes and caring for them while they wait for transport.
From Kentucky to Northeast Ohio, they are settling in with their foster families. This morning they are waking up and getting ready to start their new lives.
They will be available for adoption soon though One of A Kind Pet Rescue and Geauga Mama Dogs and Pups
Thank you to our NDLB team, Dave S and Dave G, for spending 2 days on the road and in the cold to complete this journey.

Today is and your donation goes directly to providing an animal a second chance at life!
Thank you for joining us on our mission to save the lives of animals in danger while enriching the lives of people.
So far in 2024 we have conducted 45 rescue missions, saved over 1,400 animals, and traveled 43,000 miles…and we’re still going!
It has been another heartbreaking year to see our rescue partners struggling, with adoptions being at an all time low and surrenders and strays constantly rising. There is only so much they can do and they are giving all they can to help care for each animal. Their love and dedication for every dog and cat is valued by so many. We hope that our efforts to help them with transports and any other assistance, no matter how small, will help them to continue their journey to save animals.
We appreciate everyone that is involved with our rescue transports. To our amazing team that spends days on the road making sure the animals get to their rescue safely, and also to everyone that supports us and their community shelters with donations, volunteering, and sharing our stories. The lives of so many animals were saved from the danger of euthanasia, neglect, and abuse and they are now in the homes of loving families because of the generous support we have received from people like you.
We are honored to be able to provide our services free of charge to both the sending and receiving shelters and we would not be able to coordinate and transport animals from the shelters without your support!

It was a cold 🥶 morning but the teams of animal rescuers involved in yesterday’s transport didn’t mind. They bundled up and were ready to get the dogs loaded on the NDLB van to leave Kentucky and get on the road to their new lives.
Our drivers, Dave and Dave, headed north where 6 hours later they met with the foster families from One By One Rescue.
After spending some time with their foster families they will be ready for adoption and hoping to have a furEver home for the holidays. ❤️

Our NDLB drivers, Gene and Dave Kelly, were on the road yesterday for our 2nd rescue transport this week.
It was another great day of team work to bring 40 pups to safety. 🐾
Thank you to the amazing foster families at Kentucky Saving Them Together, Inc. They are so dedicated to helping animals in Kentucky find homes or transports to other areas so they won’t face euthanasia.
This fur crew went on the road to rescue to One of A Kind Pet Rescue and Geauga Mama Dogs and Pups in Ohio.
They will all be up for adoption within the next week or so.
We would like to thank our volunteer, Sue Rickets, for sponsoring this mission that saved so many lives. ❤️
Our amazing team, Dave and Walt, met up with DACR (Dream Away Cat Rescue) in West Virginia early this morning to begin the rescue transport.
All the cats and kittens were carefully loaded into our van so they could continue their journey to find furEver homes.
From Ms. Callie and her 7 cuddling kittens, Shrek and Donkey who will try to fight for your attention, Queenie who loves to give hugs, and Professor McGonagall whose favorite time of the day is play time!
Each has their own personality that will bring you so much joy.
The cat crew are now at Providence Animal Center while they wait to find that special person to bring them home ❤️

The Pittsburgh Aviation Animal Rescue Team (PAART) seeks to save the lives of animals in danger while enriching the lives of people.
Core to our mission, PAART coordinates and transports tens of thousands of animals to their new homes free of charge. Leaving from the PAART Headquarters at the Allegheny County Airport in Pittsburgh, PA, our Mahindra Airvan GA8 aircraft, sponsored by the Rachael Ray Foundation and Rachael Ray Nurtish can serve the entire eastern half of the United States.
Not only do we fly, we also use a Land Rescue Team that consists of a specially outfitted Ford Transit and a new custom Ford Cargo truck that can hold up to 100 animals. Each year the Land Team helps thousands of animals and drives up to 100,000 miles.
PAART is networked with shelters all over the county who call on us to provide life-saving transport. Our team can jump into action at a moment's notice to deploy our unique Land or Air Teams to go where ever animals are in danger. Each year, we embark on close to a hundred rescue missions resulting in thousands of animals being rescued all over the country and even into the Caribbean.
When we are not flying or driving, we are working to coordinate and receive donations of food and animal supplies to fill our empty planes with to drop off at shelters and other rescue centers. Every little bit counts. PAART is also involved in a growing Community Outreach initiative that we began in 2012. Over the last few years, PAART has hosted school-aged children at the Allegheny Airport for learning sessions about animal rescue and aviation.
