Millie and Mallory Update 12/1/24:

Millie and Mallory are 2 year old sisters and a bonded pair. They have been with us for a little over a month and they are adjusting so well. We had all of our family over for Thanksgiving at our house and they did amazing! Millie and Mallory were extremely sweet and polite and everyone they met instantly fell in love with them. We’ve been working on socialization and it was nice to see their hard work pay off.

Millie recently completed the last of her vaccinations and was spayed. She has recovered quickly and didn’t even seem to mind the cone. Millie has her grooming appointment tomorrow and we can’t wait to see how cute she’s going to be with her new look.

Mallory has also completed the last of her vaccinations and had her grooming appointment yesterday. We have a few things to work on before her next grooming appointment to make her more comfortable, but overall she did well and came out looking so adorable!

Tess is available for adoption.

She is 7 years old and weighs 13 pounds.

Tess is a Yorkie about 7 years old. She is spayed, microchipped and recently had teeth extracted. She was groomed and groomer said she was very well behaved and she was also great at the vet. She enjoys walks, car rides and playing with her toys, also running around in the fenced yard.
She is adjusting nicely and is the sweetest dog. She has good potty manners, which leads me to believe she wasn’t a stray too long. She knows some simple commands such as sit, stay and get down. Tess is eating well. Tess wants to be with her person and loves to be next to you or on your lap, she will do best as an only dog in her forever home. She really is a doll!

Handsome Prince 11/28/24
Handsome Prince is a two-year old very friendly pup. He weighs in at 14 1/2 lbs. He has a cute puppy clumsiness to him which is evident when he runs up the stairs (and misses one or two on the way up), or when he tries to jump up on the bed (and bounces off the side on the first try).
He loves to play with our female adoptee, Vittoria, but gives plenty of room to our male, Luca. (Luca is not always tolerant of Prince’s invitations to play.)
Prince walks well on his leash but really shines when he’s free to run (always supervised) in our fenced-in yard. He typically comes back in from the yard when called by name, but if he’s really interested in something out there, you might have to ask a couple of times.
He enjoys playing with toys but doesn’t care for the squeaky kind as much as Vittoria. He will always relinquish a toy if Vittoria gives him a look…but does enjoy chewing on NylaBone and crinkle toys.
He is not scheduled to see his groomer until mid-December, but we are looking forward to seeing what a “Handsome Prince” he really is under all that hair.
In the four weeks he’s been here he has had only one potty accident in the house. Our other two paper-trained Yorkies have taught him to use the pee-pad flawlessly… but taking him outside routinely negates the need for him to visit the pee-pad.
He eats well, sleeps quietly through the night in his little enclosure, and doesn’t bother to get up until we unzip the enclosure in the morning to take him outside.
He is very friendly with people he meets either on the street or in our home and doesn’t make a fuss when other dogs get close on our walks.
He rides well in the car.

Charlotte is a 14 pound 2-year-old with lots of energy. She loves to run full tilt and
often. She runs around the backyard and loves to take her toys out and scatter
them around the yard. She has a voracious appetite and eats well. Afterward,
Charlotte will wait for the others to finish and then make sure there’s nothing left in
their bowls. She often carries the bowls and scatters them around the house. She
has learned to play with her toys and will entertain herself with them. Charlotte
loves to sleep under my throw pillows and throws on the couch. She is crate trained
and will often nap in her crate if not on the couch.
Charlotte was very insecure and skittish when she first came to us but has gotten
much better, although she does not like storms, thunder or lightening and will find a
place to hide. She is settling in and she has become more affectionate than at first.
She will sit with me for short periods and gives kisses. She greets me warmly when I
return home from an outing. She seems to prefer women over men.
Reducing barking is still a work in progress. She will sit on command and has gotten
much better
with “stay” and “wait”. Walking on a leash still needs work as well as running out a
door but we keep working on it. We are enjoying her sweet nature and energy.
She is learning she is part of a pack and socializing better with her foster brothers.

Keeley is available for adoption.

She is 10 years old and weighs 8 lbs.

Exploring new parks and places really excites her. She wears a beautiful new ruby red harness while meandering playfully during these adventures. But she also enjoys a quiet siesta every afternoon as do the other canines of the house.
Keeley enjoys car excursions if laps are available.
Keep in mind - she really hates to be left alone. It distresses her immensely. We are working on leaving her alone a little, more and more often so she understands that we do come back. But Keeley will need time and medication to level out the distress from years of never knowing what was coming next.

Introducing Cory and Bryon, a five year old bonded pair of boys!

We are still getting to know Bryon and Cory but so far I can tell you that they are the sweetest pups who are very “go with the flow” kind of dogs. Whatever everyone is doing-they are happy to join in, no small miracle since our house can be slightly chaotic with eight pups of all ages requiring different things at different times. These two sleep through the night and will sleep wherever everyone else is. I will have updates as we get to know these adorable boys better.

Abigale is available for adoption.

She is 8 years old and weighs 6 lbs.

Introducing our beautiful, sweet, loving Abigale. She weighs 6 pounds and we guesstimate that she is eight years old. She was surrendered to us from the SPCA and we have no idea how she ended up there or even when her birthday is. She is up-to-date on all her shots, has had a dental and is scheduled to be spayed this month. She is very quiet, gentle, and submissive. She enjoys, laying in the sun or in front of the fireplace while chewing a yogurt stick. She has only been with us a week so we are working on some basic leash and potty training. She prefers a quiet calm, home and likes to be in the same room with you. She is gorgeous and her ears are spectacular. Thankfully, she enjoys being brushed and doesn’t mind the bath or playing dress up. So if you are a kind, gentle patient person who will continue her training. Dupris and Deno are a bonded pair of Yorkies and will have to be adopted with his brother Deno. Both are 6 years old and weighs 9 lbs

Dupris and Deno came to us on Saturday the day after Ruff left. It is a treat for us to have a bonded pair and to watch them play and cavort together. Deno is the more outgoing of the two and he laps up attention and loves to lick faces. Dupris is less sure of novelty but has adjusted well and appears quite at home on our chaise lounge. They were surrendered because of illnesses in their family and had been home alone for a while before they came to us so they were a bit rambunctious at first. In the beginning, I kept them crated when I went out but the past few days I have left them without crating them and they have behaved very well and greeted me warmly when I got home.
