There’s an old saying, “dogs are man’s best friend”—well, Daphne is DEFINITELY the reason that saying exists. She is the ultimate best friend! Always by your side, looking for pets and snuggles, and ready for the next big adventure together.

At just 9 pounds and around 2-3 years old, Daphne may be small, but her heart is HUGE. She loves her walks and will happily trot alongside you, taking in all the sights and smells. She also has a playful side—she loves to chase a toy, pouncing with joy as she zooms after it!

But just like she’s looking for a toy to chase, she’s also searching for her perfect best friend. Someone who will love her unconditionally, be patient with her, understand her trauma, and help her realize the true gem she is. Will you be that person?

Give Daphne the life she deserves, and she will repay you with endless love, loyalty, and companionship. With her already melted heart, she’ll melt yours too, forming the kind of unbreakable bond only the best of friends share.

💛 Could you be Daphne’s perfect match?

to do whatever
is on the agenda. We think Mark is 2-3ish but he has a lot puppy-ness
packed into his 8 pound body. He will play with dogs of all sizes and he loves
kids. Potty training is going well. Mark enjoys running in the yard and
chasing the birds away. Mark is just a happy go lucky adorable little guy
who enjoys being with his people.
Mark will be neutered in April and ready for his forever home!
Mark is staying with Susan in Ulysses, PA.

Yoko is an 8 lb, 8 year old sweetheart. Our second foster to come to us house trained. As she has been with us just under two weeks, we are still learning all there is to know.
One important thing we’ve learned is that she is a climber. If you leave her alone in a room with a mere three foot gate, she will scale it with ease. We have not actually SEEN her do this, but there is no other explanation at the moment…(brand new Ring camera on order to actually catch her in the act.)
She is confined at this point since she’s never had any vaccines… so for the sake of our other pups and Yoko, they are being kept apart.
When she’s taken into the yard, she immediately does her business. She is also slowly but surely starting to explore her new environs.
She sleeps in a small doggie pen and is pretty much quiet throughout the night. The occasional woof or squeak is quieted by a “Yoko, lay down”.
She is a good eater at mealtimes.
Soon, she will be allowed to mingle with the rest of our pack and we think it will be a non-event based on our observations of their through-the-gate interactions.
Yoko will be getting a series of vaccines until mid-May, at which time she will be available for adoption.
Yoko is staying with Mary Anne and Michael in New Canaan, CT until her forever family gets their application approved at saveayorkierescue.org.

Meet Daphne, the sweetest sidekick around! This playful pup is full of life and joy, always up for a game of chase or a fun play session with her dog friends. Her energy is contagious, and she loves nothing more than being by your side.

Toys are her absolute favorite! Daphne could be sound asleep, but the second she hears a squeak, she’s wide awake and ready to chase. Returning the toy? Well, she’s still working on that part, but it’s all part of her adorable charm.

She recently went on a walk by the park and saw ducks for the first time. With excitement in her eyes, she watched them curiously but didn’t make a peep. Such a good girl!

She’s also discovered the joy of tail wags and is so proud to show off her new skill. Daphne’s loving glances and gentle companionship will remind you every day how special it is to have a furry best friend.

Looking for a vibrant, loving companion to bring joy and laughter into your life? Daphne might just be your perfect match. Reach out to learn more about this wonderful pup!

Dupuis’ dental, neuter etc. was scheduled for this Tuesday but it had to be postponed because the vet was ill. It has been over 3 months since these lovely boys came to live with us and they have truly become part of our family. They went to the groomer last week but became frightened of the clipper so they didn’t come home as perfectly groomed as we expected. We will have to see what they need to be calmer and more comfortable for their next grooming session. They love their walks and as the weather warms up it will be fun to take them to some of the parks and green spaces in our area so they can really explore new environments, In the meantime, Dupuis will have his surgery this Tuesday so the day they leave us for their forever home is approaching. They will make wonderful companions for someone who enjoys doggy love and affection.

About A Maximum

He is almost 3 years old and weighs 4.8 lbs.

The amount of love and personality squeezed into this 4.8 pound cutie is exactly what you’re looking for! Maximum, who responds well to Max, is an almost 3 year old, well-rounded dog who can confidently adapt in different environments. He is very social and loving towards people, other dogs, and my cat. He goes with the flow of the household and enjoys doing whatever we’re doing! If the other dogs want to play, he’s bouncing around with them, and when everyone is ready to relax, he is right on the couch snuggling away! Some of his favorite spots to relax include our laps, our teepee dog bed, and the cat’s sitting tower. He loves playing with toys and will chew on them independently if the attention isn’t on him at that time. You’ll have to keep tabs on your socks and slippers, as he likes to sometimes sneak them away into hiding! One thing I love about Max is his funny personality. He loves to howl when he gets excited and it’s the cutest thing! Just start saying “whoo hoo!” and he will join right in with you.

Max came to us all the way from California and was a great passenger on the plane. He rides well in the car and likes to lay down or look out the window. He does not have any complaints with meal times and has a great appetite for such a tiny dog. Max is potty trained to go outside and is crate trained. He sleeps in his crate overnight and will go in there periodically throughout the day if no one is home. Although no one is perfect, there really isn’t anything to note about Max in terms of challenges, issues, etc. He really is just a chill guy!

What is the right home for Max? This is a broad answer because he adapts well in different environments. He could go to a home with or without other pets, high activity or low activity, etc. Max is perfectly content just doing whatever you’re doing and getting a chance to be a part of your family. Whoever adopts this little guy will be in for a real treat and will have a loyal buddy until the end! Will you consider giving Max his chance at a forever home?

Maximum is staying m in Elkton, MD.

Smidge is available for adoption.

Smidge is a tiny puppy just about 5 and a half pounds and 17 months old. She is a loving little girl. She is eating well and is beginning to sleep quietly through the night. She has separation anxiety and really doesn’t like to be left alone or crated. House training is a work in progress. She is learning to walk on leash and we are beginning to teach basic commands. Smidge is new to rescue and we are still getting to know her. She gets along well with other dogs.

Smidge is staying in Brick, NJ.
