We will be closed for the fourth of July! Please keep your pets indoors during fireworks, or make sure they have proper identification just in case! Masking tape on a collar with your phone number works wonders if you don’t have a tag/microchip. We will be open again friday! Everyone have a safe and happy 4th!

We now carry Nexgard plus! This is an all in one product that prevents heart worms, intestinal parasites, fleas, AND ticks! It is a monthly preventative! If you buy 6 months you get an instant $35, 12 months is $70 off! There is a new breed of tick that has been discovered that is quickly crossing the nation called the asian longhorn tick which is named the “cow killer”. Nexgard Plus has already added prevention for this new tick into their formula!

It’s Hip to Snip!

Did you know that 1 in 3 intact male dogs develop testicular cancer, which can arise at any point in an intact males’ life?
1 in 4 female intact dogs develop mammary cancer. If spayed before their first heat cycle their risks go from 25% to 5%! If spayed after their first heat cycle, their risk is approximately 8%! 1 in 4 intact females will also develop a pyometra which is an infection of the uterus and is an emergency, which usually results in spaying anyway!

We have exciting news to share!!!
We are thrilled to announce that Mayci, our beloved groomer and vet tech, has been promoted to Clinic Supervisor! Mayci has worked so hard this past year and I know the community of Pittsfield loves her as much as we do. She will still be grooming and doing tech work at the clinic, so don't worry! Mayci will still be here every weekday to care for your pets! ❤️🐾
I think she might have some exciting announcements and giveaways coming up too 😉😉😉😉

Do you know the benefits of choosing a certified groomer?

Certified groomers go through a college program not only to ensure they understand the basics of grooming, but also to understand animal behavior, breed specific cuts, and even specialize in cats! We have 1 certified groomer on staff (Mayci), and our other groomer and bather (Marsha and Ashley) have learned directly under her knowledge of becoming certified. This means that they can serve your animal better in the sense of the exact haircut that you want, and to make grooming a good experience for your animal! They are trained on body language and signals to know if your dog is having a good time, or if they need to take it slower because your animal may be one that is a little more stressed by the grooming process. We always make sure we give the nervous babies more time, breaks, and love while they are in our care.

We’ve had a lot of requests concerning shaving double coated breeds. Contrary to popular belief, leaving their coat actually keeps them cool. Their coat is designed to regulate their body temperature. Without their hair, they would actually be even more hot than with it. Also, shaving a double coated breed can cause a condition called alopecia, which leaves the hair patchy and thin. We ONLY shave double coated breeds if recommended by your dogs veterinarian!

With that said, if you have a big fluffy double coated dog, get ahold of us and we can minimize shedding and rid the coat of dead fur to maintain it instead of shaving! ♥️🐾

Did you know… your massive breeds/short haired breeds need just as much grooming as a long haired dog? It keeps their coat healthy, nails short, ears clean, glands healthy, AND helps control hair in your household! We love our Danes/Pitties/Hounds, and all your other short haired relatively low maintenance dogs! However Low maintenance does not mean no maintenance!
