Kennel Visiting Hours Updated for Quiet Time
On Today's Topic Tuesday, Shelter manager Cheryl discusses a new protocol Berkshire Humane Society has for the kennel; kennel areas are closed 1:30-2:45 pm every day to everyone, including staff & volunteers, for "quiet time". You can see the level of "stress" excitement dogs have in their kennels. We can't emphasize enough, even though we walk dogs 5 times a day and give them love, attention, training, enrichment and care, this environment is NOT natural for them. It's not a "home". This give dogs time to relax, regroup and take a nap to reduce their stress and provide them with a much-needed mental "break". For more information please reach out to our kennel staff at (413)-447-7878 ext. 126 or Cheryl at ext. 125
