Hello and welcome! We are a small farm in Pittsfield, NH set on 17 picturesque acres! Our journey of raising beef cattle, pigs and chickens began in 2020 — we have been growing and adding more to the farm every year! We currently are offering our forest grazed pork to the community, be sure to reach out for our available cuts of fresh bacon, chops, ribs, sausage and more! Our farm also is evolving

for 2023 to have a large cut flower area, pumpkin patch and blueberry patch! We love sharing our farm with others and as we continue to grow, we look forward to incorporating new and exciting ways for you and your family to be a part of our farm! Thank you all for your continued support, owning a farm has been a dream of ours for years, we are really enjoying the positive response all around! We appreciate you!

🌿I have so many fun events and informative classes being planned for you all - dates will be released in the next couple months! One class you will want to watch out for is an introduction to herbalism! I will be bringing in a local herbalist to help us learn all about plant medicine, I believe we will each be making a tincture to take home as well!

I am very interested in the topic of herbalism and just received this book. What a wealth of information! Plants truly are amazing and are underestimated when it comes to their power in helping us. I look forward to learning all that I can and growing lots of herbs this season!

🍁 We know spring is close when Matras Maple hangs up their sap buckets on our trees - what a welcome sight to see! The sap was flowing this evening 🍁

Please take a moment to like their page and maybe even plan a visit! They just released their Open House dates and have a beautiful sugar shack and the most delicious syrup as well as other products their family creates like homemade ice cream, cows milk soap and beautiful art - we enjoy them as neighbors so much!

🌼 The hightunnel is almost complete and I am so excited! This is going to be the perfect place for my baby seedlings to live and thrive before being planted out in the field! I cannot thank my husband Matt enough for taking on this project, I couldn’t do any of this without him! Feeling so grateful!

"For anything worth having one must pay the price; and the price is always work, patience, love, self-sacrifice. No paper currency, no promises to pay, but the gold of real service" -J Burroughs

This dream of having a successful flower farm has humbled me in more ways and more times than I can count. It has been a journey of blood, sweat and tears (LITERALLY) and we are barely scratching the surface of the potential here.

I am so excited for this season! We have accomplished so much and I am so proud of myself and my husband Matt! I can't wait to share it all with you!

YOU are here because you love local flowers and you support local agriculture and for that I thank you!

I cannot wait to share more details with you soon, there is so much!

As always, thank you for your support in my flower farming dream!

I feel like I was born 100 years too late…

I remember those words that my dad said one day when I was a kid. They stuck with me and I have felt the same way now for years.

The pull to want to keep growing in homesteading/farming knowledge gets stronger and stronger. I want to try more, experience more and learn more!

I love connecting with people who understand the importance of self sufficiency and/or supporting their local farmer when they can’t grow/raise what they consume.

I love growing flowers and food and raising animals. I love supporting local farmers and artisans. It’s becoming increasingly more important to keep our dollars local.

Maybe we can create a ripple effect of people who become passionate about adopting the homestead “old days and ways” of life?

I do have concerns about what our future will look like in years to come. I worry that people are not growing up learning about the basic skills that they may need to depend on one day.

Our society is evolving so quickly to a consumer and technological lifestyle and it is impossible to not be immersed in it one way or another (as I type this on my iPhone 🤦‍♀️). Technology is a double edged sword.

Matt and I have conversations often about how we are choosing to live our life. We are always talking about how if something happened and somehow society had to survive or fend for themselves, that we would be ok, our families would be ok. We are thankful that we have decided to tap into learning skills of a less traditional way of life and are making plans to continue stepping deeper into the knowledge available.

I’m holding onto hope that one day horses will become the main mode of transportation again 😉🐎

Remember… 100 years ago was the early 1920’s and self preservation and homesteading was very much a common way of life, some could argue it was necessary to survive! Don’t lose sight of that.

“Floret Originals” are causing quite a stir in the flower farming world! A little overpriced per packet of seeds? Maybe…

But there is NO DOUBT that the new release collection from Floret Flowers is stunning! Some consider those who buy these seeds crazy 🤪 well… find me a padded room because I cannot wait to have these beauties in my garden this summer!

I did grow “Dawn Creek Blush” last year (see the picture with the bee) and I really enjoyed the creamy pink tones of the blooms as well as the long and strong stems.

I think it’s great that companies continue to evolve their offerings and continue to breed new varieties and colors. It just helps us farmers in the long run. As flower farmers, we work hard to grow our individual brands and educate customers on why they should consider keeping their dollars local. Having fun and unique flowers available to customers and florists helps to set us apart from what is available on the imported wholesale market.

The sea of blush pink, coral, light yellow and peach is going to be gorgeous here at the farm - I can’t wait to see it!

2024 is going to be an amazing year for our flower farm - it makes me cry just thinking about it all of the good stuff that is shaping up!

Matt has been working on getting the hightunnel finished and it’s looking great! Window openings will be cut, doors installed and plastic set soon. This is going to be the perfect place for my baby seedlings that are started in the basement to stay and thrive until it’s time to be planted in the field.

And it’s SO BEAUTIFUL you guys! I am so grateful for his hard work, I would never be able to do this myself!

This hightunnel is just one piece to an amazing puzzle that is coming together for us this year. I have secrets that I am dying to tell you… when the time is right!!!

Let’s just say this… Matt and I are so proud of what we have been able to accomplish so far and it’s time to expand! The best truly is yet to come!

“I can run free here, I can go back to being a kid” -B Lagat

Being in the garden and spending time with our farm animals brings me back in time and grounds me like no other way can. The sounds of the birds, crickets and peepers. The smell of sweet hay fields and of blooming trees. The bright colors of flowers and a clear blue sky. The soft touch of my horses nose against mine. Just sitting with the cows, pigs and goats to listen while they eat.

Everything around us has changed so much in such a short time. We are obsessed with technology, with our schedules, with material things. It’s hard not to fall into the trap of being busy, of letting time just slip away.

This farm is a sanctuary. Time stands still here.

Is it hard work??? Always!!

But I wouldn’t change this lifestyle for anything!

There are many evenings where Matt and I just sit and enjoy it! We take it all in and know that what we have is special.

Before we moved to this farm we were in a neighborhood. We had a small garden of 4 raised beds that were 3 x 12 feet. We had a small paddock for our 2 goats and a chicken coop with 8 or so chickens. I had a few planter pots on the deck with flowers each summer. THAT was our sanctuary at the time and it was great!

I encourage you to find some spaces this year to create your own peaceful sanctuary in your yard! A small garden where you grow the freshest tomatoes that taste like your grandmothers when you were a kid. Some flower pots with your favorite color flowers. Maybe even a hammock where you can relax and take a nap under the blue sky.

I challenge you to set the phone down a little more and tune into the sights, smells and tastes that bring you back to “the good old days” before all the distractions.

I promise it will help you find balance in life. 💚

Welcome Brisk! 😃 Brisk belongs to our friends over at Varga Farm NH in Middleton. He was bred there and is here at our farm on lease. Brisk is a young Highland bull with a bright future ahead of himself! It’s possible that he may breed our heifers at some point during his stay, we would love that!

We picked him up yesterday and he’s settled in well. It’s a nice way to get to know another breed of cattle that Matt and I do not have experience with.

We are enjoying his cuteness, what’s not to love?

Who’s planning on growing a garden in 2024? With the ever-rising cost of food, as well as quality of that food (don’t even get me started on all the “ick” ingredients that is hidden in our foods these days)… I believe it is imperative that people take control of what they are consuming.

Growing even a few items on your own will help you take a massive step in the right direction of becoming more self sufficient. Besides… it’s fun and the food tastes much better 😉

I am a big fan of home grown tomatoes! Grocery store tomatoes can’t compare - they actually taste bland to me, does anyone else feel the same?

This is a Brandywine tomato. It’s an heirloom variety that dates back to 1885! That’s 138 years of this tomato being grown and loved in gardens all over the world (including mine)!🍅

In one week it starts… the 2024 flower season! I can’t wait to get my hands in some soil and plant some seeds! First up is Lisianthus - these seeds take an extremely long time to germinate and needs lots of special attention, but they are worth it when they bloom 😍

Matt built me an awesome grow room back in 2020 and it’s the perfect place to baby these seedlings as they mature.

When it’s cold, rainy and snowy the grow room is warm - it’s the place to be in the winter time!

Pantone released their 2024 color of the year and I am swooning! I cannot wait to grow so many “Peach Fuzz” Pantone inspired blooms next season! Here are some of my favorites in that hue from my garden this past summer. I am envisioning gorgeous bouquets of peach and coral colors adorning many of your tables in 2024!
