And THIS is the love of a pet!

An 11-year-old boy in North Carolina named Jamie Parker got buried in rubble when a mudslide hit his grandparents' house during Hurricane Helene. But he's okay after his family's dog found him.

His name is Tucker. He stood where Jamie was and wouldn't budge until firefighters got there and used chainsaws to get him out.

Jamie and his sister used their allowance three years ago to save Tucker when he was about to be put down at a shelter. So it's almost like he wanted to return the favor. (Here's a photo.)

We saw this idea on a police site. With July 4th on the horizon, many of your dogs may be fearful of the fireworks. Make sure they have collars on and are identifiable of they get scared and leave their home. We highly suggest having your dog microchipped. It is an easy process and most vet clinics and animal shelters will have chip readers. If your dog is not chipped, this idea of putting tape and your phone number on the collar is a great idea for this upcoming week. We hope you all have a safe and happy Fourth of July!
