K9 First Aid Workshop was such a huge success. A very special thanks goes out to our presenters Dr. Mary Locicero, Dr. Laura Rotz and RVT Becky Keates for all the great information and ideas on how to keep our fur babies safe and healthy and how to respond if they get hurt while one a hike, eat something they shouldn't and so much more.

A special thanks goes to Zena, Echo and Dusty for being our living demo dogs for bandaging, health care and lots of other stuff.

We all learned a lot and are so lucky to have these three experienced veterinary professionals as part of the Comp K9 Community.

And yes, we're going to do it again next year...probably March to April.

Canine First Aid Workshop
Sunday November 3 from 9:00 a.m. to noon
at the Comp K9 Training Center in Placerville

The annex is closed for member use until we finish the installation of our new floor. It was supposed to arrive on Tuesday and didn’t make it until about 12:30 today. We’re scrambling to get everything finished in time for classes this weekend, but are asking our members to use the main building for any practice they would typically do in the annex until we get, everything completed. It’s gonna be great and the good news is it’s helping the echo problem immensely

The ACT is in the books and results going to AKC today. I got this photo from one of my students and it made me laugh out loud. Cheeto had a very successful ACT. Now he's out like a light. Congratulations big guy.

Comp K9's FREE Kid's Camp starts July 14.

Kids come every Sunday from 2 pm to 4 pm to learn basic skills like obedience, dog grooming and care plus get a chance to try rally, nose work and scent sports, agility and more.

There are no classes this weekend and on Memorial Day at the training center. The center is open for member use.

We're calling her Dori because one of Dorris's students found her in the bushes outside the training center. She's about 5 weeks old and very undernourished. Eating like a pig at Ann's house since Tuesday night. She'll see the vet tomorrow and if all is good she'll be going to Purrfectly Pawsible Rescue (Thank to Susan Sweeny for the assist there). If you're looking for a very sweet and tough (she's ignoring the dogs) little girl, PM me here or contact Susan who can put you in touch with rescue.
